Liquid chocolate mass is poured into the deep-drawn plastic half-shells and distributed using a stamp inserted from above so that the chocolate forms and hardens on the inside of the plastic half-shell. Then two plastic shell halves with the chocolate molds inside are pressed against each other and welded or sealed over the edges so that a circumferential seal is created.

Description

The invention relates to a packaging for a food product with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

The generic features of claim 1 are, for example, from WO 2013/144612 A2 known. In this document it is described that a line of low material thickness is provided which is broken when opened. For example, a tab is provided on the edge of the half-shells that can be gripped to open the shell along this line with a low material thickness. Pulling the two tabs opens the packaging on this line with a low material thickness.

Such packaging can be used in particular for food products such as gingerbread, muesli bars or other food bars, cheese, or hollow confectionery products, such as hollow chocolate bodies. The latter are often packaged in various figurative forms, such as egg shape, as Santa Claus or as an Easter bunny in thin metal foil.

With one from the DE 10 2011 002 754.8 Known packaging of this type, two film halves for forming a shell around a hollow candy body, in particular a hollow chocolate body, are placed one above the other at their edges after the hollow chocolate body has been inserted. The film halves consist of a thin aluminum film, which is coated on the inside with a plastic layer, for example made of polyethylene or polypropylene. In the area of the flange-like edges, heat is applied in the course of the production process, so that the plastic layers on the inside are bonded to one another and form a continuous sealing seam around the hollow chocolate body. Subsequently, the edge can also be connected in a form-fitting manner, for example by flanging or folding it. The packaging has a tear thread which extends across the entire product and is arranged on the inside in the area of the chocolate hollow body on one side between the chocolate hollow body and the film half, and is attached in the area of the edge between the two film halves. The thread extends to the very end of the respective edge and is arranged in the region of the edges between the two film halves. The thread represents a reinforcement with which the product can be torn open from the inside, so to speak. So that the tear thread can be gripped easily by a user, the edge at one end of the tear thread is widened in such a way that it forms a tear-open tab which can be gripped with two fingers and with which the location of the thread can be located by a user and the thread can be gripped safely.

The technique of the tear thread has generally proven itself in practice, even if it is often difficult to bring this into line with the external design of the packaged hollow chocolate articles, in which the appearance of the packaging plays a major role in sales. It must also be ensured that the thread is pulled over the correct half of the film so that the film can be torn open.

The EP 1 002 464 A2 describes a packaging for an egg-shaped confectionery hollow body, in which two plastic halves are deep-drawn, so that approximately 0.2 to 0.3 mm thick half-shells are formed. Laterally projecting separating tabs are formed on the half-shells in the area of a flange-like edge. The edge including the separating tab remains protruding outwards and forms a kind of Saturn ring. There is no connection in the area of the protruding separating flap, so that the flaps can be gripped by hand and the two plastic halves can be separated from one another by breaking open the circumferential sealing edge. The shape of the plastic halves remains undamaged and is only separated from one another at the flange-like edges that were originally adjacent. This technique is specially designed for opening packaging made from pre-molded plastic, particularly polypropylene, with a wall thickness of approx. 0.2 to 0.3 mm.

The WO2009 / 104207 A1 provides for easy opening of an aluminum packaging of an egg-shaped chocolate hollow body, to make a circumferential flange-like edge of the packaging half-shells easily decoupled, so that the edge is automatically opened when pressure is applied to certain predetermined side areas of the packed body. In practice, this opening mechanism can easily lead to unintentional opening and requires a great stability of the hollow chocolate figure so that it is not broken or deformed accidentally when pressed with two fingers. In addition, there are hygiene concerns for such packs that are easy to open for the packaged product.

The invention has for its object to improve a packaging for a confectionery hollow body of the type mentioned in such a way that the confectionery hollow body is safely and permanently hygienically packaged in it despite the simple manufacture of the packaging, and the packaging can nevertheless be opened reliably with simple handling.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a hollow confectionery body, according to the features of claim 1.

This means that the tear-off tab made of metal foil can be used as a tear-open means for effectively opening the packaging made of metal foil. The metal foil itself therefore serves to be gripped in the form of the tear-open flap, a crack then forming from the tear-open flap over the connection between the edges forming the partial shells if the tear-open flap is guided transversely to the course of the edges with sufficient force. In this case, a tear-open section is formed over the connecting edge, in which the metal foil, starting from the tear-open tab as a kind of metal strip, detaches from it and causes an opening of the edge and adjacent areas of the partial shell. Surprisingly, the package can be opened by simply tearing the tear-open tray across the edge without having to incorporate an additional foreign element such as a separate tear-open thread. Nevertheless, the opening can be done effectively via the pull tab. It is easy to produce the packaging with the tear tab, because the tear agent itself consists of the metal foil. Nevertheless, the connection at the edges is sufficiently hygienic before pressing the pull tab and can serve as a so-called tamper-evident seal.

At least one tear-out formation is provided in the area of the entry point of the tear-open tab to the connecting edge. Such a tearing shape determines the location of the initial tearing, so that the tearing process is given a type of predetermined tearing point that can also determine the timing of the tearing. A notch can be provided, for example, as the tear-out shape.

The tear tab can possibly be formed on each of the two partial shells. This makes it easier to pull the tear-open tab across the edge to any side of the packaging, resulting in the same tear-open mechanism in each case. The two metal foils of the tear tab also make the tab as such more stable.

In a favorable manner, the two parts of the tear tab cannot be connected to one another outside the connecting edge. The two parts of the pull tab each form small, separate, accessible flags. A user can optionally also take just one of those flags and pull it across the edge transversely to one side, so that primarily one side is torn open. This can make the tearing process easier.

In a special way, the two parts of the tear-open tab outside of the connecting edge can be connected to one another, at least in regions, in a cohesive and / or form-fitting manner welded, sealed, crimped and / or stamped. If necessary, this connection can also be made only selectively. The connection stabilizes the parts of the pull tab and is better for a user to grasp. This also affects the tearing process, in which the tearing process is more specifically determined, since the tearing is better determined locally by the increased stiffness of the tearing flap.

As a variant, the tear tab and / or the edges can be applied to the outer shape of the packaging at least in some areas. The packaging thus better reflects the outer shape of the packaged hollow confectionery body. The tear tab and / or the edges are less prone to injury. When the edges are created, the creation causes an additional deformation, which additionally supports the connection between the edges.

It is also conceivable that the edge in the area of the tear tab cannot be placed against the outer shape of the packaging. This makes it easier to tear open from the tear tab over the edge. In this area, the tear-open section can extend better from the tear-open tab over the connection area into the curved area of the metal foil, in which it is nestled against the hollow confectionery body.

As a variant, the edges in the area of the tear-open tab can be integrally connected to one another, in particular welded, sealed and / or glued. A cohesive connection can be easily overcome when gripping the tear tab, the tear path then extending over that cohesive area into the arched area of the metal foil. The cohesive edge ensures a sufficiently good connection of the partial shells, which can then be easily torn through, the further tear-open section of the metal foil extending into the curved area. In that area of the integral connection, another type of connection can optionally be provided excluded. In principle, a combination with a positive connection could also be provided.

As a further possibility, the edges in the area of the tear-open tab can be positively connected to one another, in particular crimped, folded, crimped and / or stamped together. These positive connections ensure good cohesion of the edges. Opening can usually be recognized by the edges, so that they can be used as tamper-evident closures. It is conceivable that the tear-open tab extends with the edges deformed into it in a form-fitting manner, so that it can be virtually integrated into it. Combinations with positive connections are also conceivable.

As a further variant, the edges in the area outside the tear-open tab can be positively connected to one another, in particular crimped, crimped and / or stamped together. This ensures that the edges in the area in which the tear line does not extend are securely connected to one another. If a different connection is provided in the area of the pull tab than in the area outside the pull tab, this can different connection types support the tearing open, because tearing is facilitated at the border crossing of one connection type to the other connection type. The tear-open tab can advantageously be made stiffer than the material in the region of the curvature of the casing. This enables the tear-open tab to be gripped well, which is more dimensionally stable, and from it the tear-in distance is easier to continue into the curved part of the metal foil envelope.

As a further idea, the packaging can be provided with a pictorial motif applied to it, the outer contour of the tear-open tab being designed as a supplement to the motif. The tear-open tab can be designed so that its shape matches a pictorial motif of the packaging, so that the motif is more clearly recognizable and the tear-open tab is integrated into the pictorial presentation.

In a special way, two tear-away shapes spaced apart from one another at the edge can be provided, in particular at a distance which corresponds approximately to the width of the tear-open tab along the edge. This creates a tear-open section with a width which, based on the tear-out formations, initially corresponds approximately to the width of the tear-open tab, so that it can be easily introduced and, proceeding from this, continues without problems over the curved part of the partial shells.
Protection is also sought for a packaged hollow confectionery body, which has a packaging according to one of the preceding designs.

The invention can basically be used for the packaging of various solid food products. This includes, for example, confectionery such as gingerbread or other goods such as granola bars, chocolate bars or other food and confectionery bars, as well as cheese. A special case of a food product is to have confectionery bodies with an internal cavity. These confectionery products are often composed of two half-shells in which the cavity is formed. Hollow confectionery products have different stabilities than other food products and often have to be specially packaged. This is the case, for example, of hollow chocolate figures in egg shape, like Santa Claus or Easter bunny, in which the outer shape has a special figurative meaning, and accordingly a picture motif is usually printed on the packaging, which shapes the appearance of the figure.

In Figure 1 A packaging 1 of a confectionery hollow body 2 is shown, in which the confectionery hollow body has an egg shape which is adapted to the shape of the packaging. The hollow confectionery body can be made of chocolate and, in contrast to the egg shape, can also have other common shapes, such as Santa Claus or Easter bunny figures. In Figure 1 the packaging with the hollow confectionery body is shown viewed from the outside.

The packaging consists of two partial shells 3, of which in Figure 1 the straight top view of the upper shell, for example, is shown. The two partial shells together form a domed shell 4, which form an interior in which the hollow confectionery body is arranged.

The partial shells are formed from a thin metal foil, which can preferably have a thickness of 5 to 100 μm, in particular 10 to 50 μm, and particularly advantageously 15 to 40 μm. An aluminum foil is primarily used as the metal foil. The partial shells are preformed by a reshaping process, in particular by deep drawing or folding, so that two partial shells having preformed partial cavities are formed which, when assembled, practically correspond exactly to the outer shape of a hollow chocolate figure and form an arched shell 4 adapted to them.

The partial shells are provided on their outer contour with edges 5, which extend outward in an approximately flange-like manner in a parting plane 6. The parting plane is in Figure 1 to be equated with the drawing level, whereby in Figure 1 the edges 5 are connected to the outer shape of the packaging 1 after the connection of the two partial shells. Therefore, the edges 5 appear in Figure 1 somewhat narrower and extend approximately vertically to the plane of the drawing in the applied state.

A tear-open tab 7 extends from the partial shells 3, at least from one of the partial shells, in the region of the edge approximately perpendicular to the outer contour of the edge. In this sense, it branches off to the outside. The tear tab 7 is formed in one piece with the metal foil of the partial shell 3. It has the same thickness as the metal foil of the partial shell.

The tear tab 7 thus forms the only tear means for forming a tear path 8, which in Figure 1 are represented by two broken tear lines 9 running approximately parallel to one another. They mark a possible extension of the tearing web when a user grips the tear tab with his fingers and moves it in the direction of those tear lines, approximately towards the center of the product. The tear-open section 8 extends from the tear-open flap across the connection of the edges 5 of the partial shells into the curved envelope 4. The broken line of the tear lines 9 depends on the direction actually selected when tearing open and can also have a different angular orientation or a different curve the partial shell run.

In Figure 1 the edges 5 are crimped together so that they are positively connected to one another. Then they are applied to the outer shape of the packaging 1. In the area of the flange-like mutual contact, the edges 5 of the two partial shells 3 are sealed to one another. This is achieved in that the partial shells 3 made of metal foil are coated on their sides facing the hollow confectionery body 2 each with a very thin plastic layer, preferably a thermoplastic, and in particular polypropylene or polyethylene are. In the manufacture, the edges initially protrude approximately horizontally outwards after the preforming of the partial shells, are placed on top of one another and then fused together by the action of heat before flanging, so that a practically circumferential, continuously sealed edge is produced. Sealing can also be carried out only in certain areas, for example by dotted or dashed sealing points which, arranged at approximately the same distance from one another, extend completely around the product, depending on how close the sealing is to be.

In Figure 1 the edges in the area of the tear-open tab are not placed against the outer shape of the packaging, but rather extend approximately radially outward from the parting plane, so that the tear-open tab 7 projects freely. Depending on the embodiment, it can also be applied to the outer shape of the casing 4.

The edges are integrally connected to one another in the area of the tear-open tab, which is indicated by a connecting line 10, here in the form of a sealing line. In this area, the edge is not crimped or deformed.

In Figure 2 is a cross section through the packaging of Figure 1 shown, the cross-sectional plane being approximately perpendicular to the plane of the drawing Figure 1 extends. For illustration purposes, in Figure 2 the tear tab is turned into the cross-sectional plane, although the cross-sectional plane of Figure 2 about a central horizontal section in Figure 1 corresponds.

The hollow chocolate body 2 is shown in a hatched representation, around which the two partial shells 3 of the packaging 1 extend outside. The two halves of the hollow body adjoin one another approximately at the level of a horizontal parting plane 11. This parting plane 11 also corresponds to the general parting plane 6 of the two partial shells 3 of the shell 4. The shell 4 is not shown hatched here for purposes of illustration.

The edges 5 are on the left in Figure 2 recognizable flanged, with a sealing line 10 in the edges 5 applied to the envelope 4. On the diametrically opposite, right-hand side, the tear-open tab 7, which extends approximately radially outwards, can be seen, which extends outwards from the curved sphere of the casing 4. Two adjacent layers of the metal foils of the two partial shells 3 together form the tear tab 7, which are connected to one another at the marked sealing line 10. The regions of the tear tab 7 which extend outward from the sealing line are located loosely to one another without being specifically connected to one another in this exemplary embodiment. They could also be seized separately by a user.

In Figure 2 are shown on the left side two sealing lines 10 in cross section, which are formed separately from each other. The edge 5 is flanged or crimped in this area. The two sealing lines 10 are provided in two areas that are folded against one another, which are separated from one another via a folding line 14 or the fold resulting from the folding. Notwithstanding the in Figure 2 In the selected representation, the two sealing lines 10 can also extend into the area of the folding line, and optionally also beyond this. In special embodiments, the two sealing lines 10 can be connected to one another, so that the result is practically only one sealing line which extends over the folding line. This training can also be used optionally in the training of the other figures. In principle, it can be used for any type of integral connection with the aid of sealing lines 10.

Figure 3 shows an enlarged detail of the edge 5 applied to the shell 4, with reference to the previous statements Figure 1 and 2nd is referred.

Figure 4 FIG. 12 shows a modification of an enlarged portion of the cross sectional view of FIG Figure 2 , in which the pull tab 7 of the in Figure 2 shown pull tab corresponds, and in Figure 4 the following changes have been made. In addition to the sealing line 10, the two parts of the metal foils extending from the partial shells 3 are embossed with each other in a roughly protruding manner, so that the two parts of the tear-open tab are connected to one another approximately via the surface of the tear-open tab and the two parts form a common, stiffer tear-open tab form. In principle, other connecting means are also conceivable, such as gluing or welding in that area, in the sense of a material connection. In the same way, other form-fitting connections can be selected, such as crimping the pull tab. Interlocking and integral connections can also be used in combination. The resulting pull tab is stiffer and easier to grip. Furthermore, this makes it easier to tear the metal foil to open the packaging 1. This applies in particular if, due to the stiffer design of the tear-open tab, the metal foil strives apart at the point at which the two partial shells form the curvature.

Figure 5 shows an enlarged plan view of a further embodiment, in which, apart from the features already described for the same reference numerals, the pull tab has a tear-out shape 12 in the area of the edge over its width on the left and right. The tear-out formations are each formed here by a notch formed approximately radially from the outside into the edge and adjacent to the tear-open tab. These notches mean that when the tear-open tab is gripped and torn, the tearing takes place on these preformed tear-out shapes and the tearing can thereby be carried out more easily and in a more targeted manner.

In Figure 5 several connection points 13 are shown schematically, which are indicated in the form of double crosses for reasons of illustration, but can also have other shapes. The connection points 13 form locally limited connection points of the two parts of the tear-open tabs, that is to say of the metal foils lying opposite one another, so that here a connection of the two foils is created by means of several selected points. The connection points 13 can be created by positive locking or by material locking, be it by crimping, flanging, easy caulking, welding, sealing, gluing, or similar types of connection, in combination or individually.

The shape of the tear-open tab 7 can be designed such that its outer contour corresponds to a pictorial representation, such as a motif, attached to the surface of the casing 4 and practically continues this. If, for example, a motif such as a mouse figure were embossed on the cover 4 on one or both sides, the pull tab could be shaped as one of the two ears of the mouse figure, so that an overall appealing and realistic motif of the entire packaging 1 results. In this case, it is of course possible to arrange more than one tear-open tab 7 distributed over the circumference of the packaging 1, so that in this case, for example, two ears of the mouse figure located in the right place can be formed in their shape.

In principle, several tear-open tabs can be provided without providing a pictorial motif.

Figure 6 shows a variant of the invention, which largely the in Figure 1 shown embodiment corresponds. Reference is made to the above explanations in this regard, unless there are no deviating explanations below.

There are two tear tabs 7, one each on the left and right upper edge of the package 1. A motif 14 in the form of two eyes and a mouth is printed as an example in the center of the front side and the tear-open tabs 7 are arranged relative to it as if they were supplemented the motif and, for example, ears protruding from the top or the like which belonged to the motif.

The tear-open tabs can be actuated jointly or separately, so that, based on this, there is in each case a separate tear-open section 8, which are arranged in dashed lines by intersecting tear lines 9. As a rule, the tear lines 9 in this form cannot be recognized from the outside, but only arise when they are torn open, so that the motif is preserved holistically and is not influenced by it.

In this case, the edges 5 are applied to the shape of the packaging. They are formed by a fold, so that there is a kind of crimp over the edge. The edge 5 formed in this way extends outside the area of the tear tabs as well as in the area of the tear tabs with the same type of connection. This connection is then practically integrated into the tear tabs 7. Optionally, the tear tabs 7 could also be placed together with the edge on the outer shape of the packaging.

The configurations of the Figures 1 to 5 can in a corresponding manner on the design of the Figure 6 be applied, and vice versa.

In principle, the type of connection in the area of the edges 5 can only be positive, only material, or a combination of both types. The types of connection of the edges 5 can be formed in the area of the tear-open tabs 7 as well as outside the area of the tear-open tabs 7, or differently in comparison.

The mode of operation and functioning of embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below.

The tear-open tab can be gripped by a user with his fingers and pulled across the edges 5 of the cover 4, so that the cover 4 made of metal foil tears at the transition point of the tear-open tab to the curved cover and a tear strip can be torn off the cover 4 . This gives the user easier access to the confectionery hollow body 2 and can also easily remove the rest of the casing 4 therefrom. Surprisingly, this succeeds over the edges 5 of the connection, although here only the thin metal foil itself serves as a tearing means for continuing the tearing process from the outside into the curved part of the casing 4. It is an extremely thin metal foil that can still serve as a tear-opener by overcoming the edge. If two parts of the half shells are together too of a tear-open tab are connected to one another at least in regions, the tear-open tab is stiffer and the edge 5 can be torn more easily. The tearing point is predefined by tearing shapes 12, for example in the form of the notches.
