Basically, in addition to increased security, a high degree of comfort is expected from the recipients as well as from the deliverers, especially in the case of Internet commerce.

The present invention therefore has as its object to provide a method for transferring an object to be delivered to a first or further receiver, which provides a high degree of comfortability while at the same time providing increased security.

The object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1. In this case, an object to be delivered is handed over to a recipient, wherein the owner of the parcel box is to be regarded as the first recipient in particular.

As other recipients, however, other persons come into question, for example, persons to whom the owner of the parcel box wants to hand over items. In particular, these can be delivery and logistics companies that are commissioned with the return of items to a supplier by the owner of the parcel box or else also other persons whom the Paketboxbesitzer would like to deliver something. In this case, a code is entered into an input device of the depot device. The code combines the three information, namely the recipient with the deliverer and the specific depot device in a clear way.
