Definitions

  • the present invention relates to communications technologies, and in particular, to a resource allocation method, a base station, and user equipment.
  • a mobile broadband (MBB) service is obviously asymmetrical, and a downlink service volume is three times an uplink service volume. Consequently, downlink spectrum resources are not sufficient, while uplink spectrum resources are usually in an idle state.

  • 3GPP Document for Discussion R2-143736 discusses some details on D2D operation upon mobility. Specifically, it proposes that upon cell selection/reselection being triggered, UE should be allowed to keep using the D2D configuration (e.g. transmitting D2D) received from the previous cell and other information until cell selection/reselection is completed, i.e. until acquiring system information of the cell. From the definition of "serving cell" in TS 36.304, these UE behaviors are in line with that.
  • 3GPP Document for Discussion and Approval R3-141809 discloses that, when the ProSe Authorized IE is signalled in the X2 HANDOVER REQUEST message, the target eNB may allocate the D2D resource during X2 handover preparation phase.
  • the UE is configured to use the Type 1/Mode 2 transmission resource pool both in the source and target eNBs. If the transmission resource pools allocated by the source eNB and target eNB are same, then there will be no handover of the D2D transmission resource, and therefore the D2D discovery/communication transmission will not be interrupted.
  • the UE may select the resources from the transmission resource pool allocated by the target eNB which is included in the RRCConnectionReconfiguration message from the source eNB, and use them for the D2D discovery/communication transmission.
  • 3GPP Document for Discussion and Approval S2-130979 proposes a new solution for ProSe operational aspects designed to maximize the reuse of the existing 3GPP network entities and interfaces to support ProSe feature for both restricted and open ProSe discovery and communication under the in-coverage scenarios.
  • the key control function i.e. ProSe function
  • ProSe function is an added logical function to the MME which already supports many compatible capabilities that can be extended to support the ProSe operational requirements and to interact with the ProSe capable UE - e.g. security, mobility, paging and idle control, bearer control and subscription management and lawful interception support.
  • Embodiments of the present invention provide resource allocation methods, user equipment and base stations as defined in the attached set of claims, so as to resolve a prior-art technical problem of low resource utilization.
  • a second base station receives resource configuration information of a first base station, and sends the resource configuration information of the first base station to UE, so that the UE performs D2D communication with the second base station or a core network by using a resource configured by using the resource configuration information of the first base station. Therefore, an uplink resource or a downlink resource of the first base station can be reused by the UE, thereby improving resource utilization of a communications system.

Optionally, the first base station and the second base station detect whether the first base station and the second base station have a D2D communication capability. For details, refer to the foregoing method embodiment. Details are not repeatedly described herein.
