Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for handling film material wound on rolls with the features of independent method claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for handling film material wound on rolls with the features of independent claim 10.
  • containers which comprise four, six or more containers.
  • Such containers represent a very common variant of sales units for beverage containers or bottles made of PET plastic.
  • devices and methods which unwind the material from one roll or from several rolls, convey it within a packaging machine and thus the individual containers or the respective Wrap articles that are to form the respective container with the packaging material.
  • the unwinding of the packaging material from the roll is usually done automatically and in a continuous process.
  • Devices are known in which the packaging material is drawn off the rotating roller via rollers. If a roll has been unwound and the supply of packaging material for the roll is exhausted, the respective roll must be exchanged or replaced with a new roll. However, such a roll change is associated with an undesirable interruption in the process of assembling and packaging containers.
  • FIG DE 40 40 545 A1 known A method and a device by means of which new rolls can be delivered and used rolls can be exchanged within a packaging machine are, for example, from FIG DE 40 40 545 A1 known.
  • This known device has several supply rolls with strip material, which are arranged next to one another. The core of each roller is placed on a common pin. A beginning of the strip material is previously connected to a roller which pulls the strip material off the respective roll and guides it in a downward direction away from the device. In order to be able to operate this known device and to unwind the material from the roll, the core of the roll must be placed on the pin in the direction of rotation. The strip material or the first layer of strip material must descend from above in the direction of the rollers.
  • Such a device with a film splicing station in which the film web is fed to a reel newly inserted into a packaging machine with the support of a holding device of a welding device, is from FIG DE 10 2004 026 312 A1 known.
  • the holding device can in particular be designed as a manually manageable terminal strip, with the help of which the beginning of the film is withdrawn from a new roll and made available to a transfer device that can ensure that the beginning of the film is fed to a welding device, by means of which the beginning of the film with an already in the Packaging machine located film web is welded.
  • the terminal strip is referred to there as an aid that is easy to handle manually and with which the film web can be brought into a suitable position. However, the terminal strip is loose, ie not connected to the machine or the welding device.
  • An at least partially automated method for changing roles and a corresponding device is from the DE 10 2013 110 944 A1 known.
  • the new film rolls to be fed to a packaging machine are each mounted on differently configured interchangeable carrier units, which can be inserted alternately in different installation positions in the packaging machine.
  • the Interchangeable carrier units are configured in such a way that the film sections can be automatically connected to one another in the machine.
  • the JP H07 101 602 A discloses a device for guiding a flat material web.
  • the device comprises a device by means of which an end region of the material web formed by cardboard can be gripped by means of arms and then moved away from the respective roll.
  • a primary aim of the invention is therefore to provide a device and a method for partially or fully automated handling of flat and / or film material wound on rolls, whereby the susceptibility of a packaging machine to malfunctions can be reduced.
  • the device according to the invention and the method according to the invention should simplify the handling of flat and / or film material and should be able to enable largely uninterrupted operation of a packaging machine even after a roll change.
  • the invention proposes a method for handling flat and / or film material, wound on rolls and used as packaging material for packaging piece goods, bundles or similar article assemblies, with the features of independent method claim 1.
  • an at least partially unwound and / or used up roll which is located in a packaging machine and there under rotating movement, a material web with flat and / or film material for the packaging of piece goods, bundles, etc. is used Makes available, replaced by a new or fresh roll, in particular a similar roll with flat and / or film material, to maintain a packaging operation.
  • the packaging operation can either be maintained continuously and largely without delay during the roll change, which In particular, this can be supported by providing at least two installation positions for rolls in the packaging machine, from which the flat and / or film material is alternately removed, while the other, used roll can be changed and exchanged for a new roll.
  • a continuous packaging operation can, however, also be maintained through the support of a store into which a defined length of flat and / or film material can be conveyed, which is available for the later period of a roll change and can be conveyed again from the store for this purpose.
  • the method according to the invention does not necessarily require such a continuous packaging operation, but rather relates equally to a discontinuous operation which can be briefly interrupted during a roll change.
  • Used rolls are removed from at least one installation or assembly position in the packaging machine and replaced by a new roll in order to maintain the packaging operation.
  • the used rolls can alternatively be removed alternately from at least two different installation or assembly positions of the packaging machine and exchanged alternately with new rolls of flat and / or film material.

  • the material webs can for example be welded, spliced, glued to one another or possibly also connected in some other way.

  • the packaging material can in particular be a film that can be shrunk under the action of heat, with which the article combinations or bundles are firmly held together.
  • a suitable holding and unwinding device is assigned to each roll, each of which forms part of a packaging machine.
  • the material web provided by the new roll can be removed from the roll by means of the gripping and / or handling device operating with pneumatic suction pressure, mechanically clamping and / or electrostatically adhering.

  • All these variants enable an automated roll and material web change while maintaining a largely uninterrupted packaging operation, possibly also while maintaining a briefly interrupted packaging operation, without having to intervene manually, in particular when feeding the beginning of the material web of a new roll to a welding unit, where it is connected or welded to the web of material still in the machine.
  • the method can provide that the material web provided by the new roll is removed from the respective new roll by means of the automatically moved gripping and / or handling device controlled in its holding and / or adhesive activities and in each case in its intended position for adhesive connection with the is already moved into the packaging line leading material web and / or to the fixing and / or welding device.
