Description

DOMAINE DE L'INVENTIONFIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates in particular to a system comprising an object to be exposed and an exposure device for electronic products such as telephones or touch tablets, as well as to a method for exposing such an object.

ARRIERE-PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUETECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND

It is well known that in the field of commerce, demonstrations of items sold to consumers are essential marketing assets. Different means exist to carry out these demonstrations. The simplest being the presence of self-service objects. Consumers can thus freely try out items before purchasing them. The interaction between the consumer and the object is then optimal. The main problem with this solution is securing these devices and in particular against theft of the most expensive objects. One obvious solution was to place the items behind a display case. As consumers could no longer access the objects, they could no longer steal them. On the other hand, this solution has removed all interactivity between consumers and the item on sale. However, with the advent of electronic touch devices, the need for interaction between consumers and objects has become more important.

One solution to this problem was to add a lock to the exhibits and remove the showcase. The consumer can thus interact directly with the object, but can no longer steal it. This solution raised several other problems, in particular with touch-sensitive electronic devices. Indeed, malicious consumers can "hack" devices either to make them display inappropriate messages, or to make the devices completely unusable. In addition, less experienced consumers can also perform improper handling which degrades the exposed object. These latter consumers, due to their inexperience in the field of the object, may also not know how to use said object and therefore cannot interact with it. In addition, the direct handling of products by multiple consumers causes damage such as scratches or clogging. For example, the only fingerprints on the surface of a touchscreen can be viewed negatively by a potential buyer.

In all the cases mentioned above, the beneficial marketing effect of a demonstration is nullified, it is even a negative brand image that can be transmitted to consumers.

To overcome these various problems, the industry has developed interactive showcase solutions.

The publication WO-A2-2013048146 is part of this technology by forming an interactive exhibition area, inaccessible to consumers and having a user interface capable of receiving a command from said consumers allowing the launch of an interaction with said object. Said exhibition area consisting of a showcase with a transparent touch screen. A downside is that WO-A2-2013048146 has extremely limited interaction. The user can only change the position of an object in the exhibition area, but he cannot see said object directly in activity. For this, the active object is presented in videos displayed on the display screen. This solution is unsatisfactory because the interaction with the exposed object is too limited. In addition, the marketing effect of displaying the characteristics of an object in a video is always less important than a real-time demonstration. Consumers familiar with current video editing techniques are likely to not trust the videos shown. The document US 2013/0231166 A discloses a system comprising an object to be displayed and comprising a robotic arm.

The invention makes it possible to resolve all or part of the drawbacks of current techniques.

RESUME DE L'INVENTIONSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Un aspect de l'invention concerne en particulier un système comprenant un objet à exposer et un dispositif selon la revendication 1.One aspect of the invention relates in particular to a system comprising an object to be exposed and a device according to claim 1.

This arrangement allows for much greater interaction with the exhibit, while protecting it from malicious consumers. The robotic arm can simulate a human arm and thus increase the marketing effect of the presentation of the object. Finally, the robotic arm allows the display of a predefined demonstration directly on the object, and not in a remote manner on a screen. The interest here is also marketing, a consumer will have more confidence in seeing a demonstration "live" on the sold object, than in a video.

The invention also comprises a system in which the processing unit comprises a storage memory which comprises different predefined sequences, said predefined sequences each corresponding to a different physical interaction with the object.

This arrangement makes it possible to predetermine demonstration sequences which can be launched by consumers. Thus, even without having direct access to the object on display, consumers will be able to have a real experience with the object. In addition, less experienced consumers will be able to discover the exhibited object more easily and without prior knowledge.

The invention also relates to a method for exhibiting an object according to claim 11.

Advantageously, this method is such that it allows the interaction of the robotic arm with the exposed object in order in particular to allow the realization of a demonstration. The advantage is to allow the consumer to see in real time the functions of an object, without going through a video.

Thus, the present invention makes it possible to protect the object exhibited against theft and against other acts of misuse, while maintaining great interactivity between the object and the consumer. In addition, it allows lay users to easily interact with the products. Consequently, it is perfectly suited to any type of object presentation, particularly in places such as museums, shops, trade fairs.

For the understanding of the device, we mean by:
  • Sequencer 5: computer device comprising a processor 8 and any other element necessary for processing information.
  • Showcase: exhibition area normally inaccessible by a consumer and not limited to surrounded by a barrier. Said barrier can be made of glass, PVC or any other transparent material. If no barrier is provided, arrangements can be made so that the exhibition area is far enough from users to prevent physical contact with the object.
  • Interaction zone 4: any element allowing interaction between the user and the user interface 1.
  • Predefined sequences: sequence of at least two coordinates of points in one direction as in the other associated with a movement of the robotic arm 3.

The invention described below relates to an interactive exhibition area of an object. The exhibition area is integrated into a showcase.

According to the invention, the exposed object is an electronic device and preferably, but not limited to, a touch device such as a smart phone, an electronic tablet or even a connected watch.

Lorsqu'un consommateur sélectionne ladite commande, l'interface utilisateur 1 transmet ladite commande à une unité de traitement 2.Advantageously, a user interface 1 is present on or near the showcase. This interface displays at least one command. When a consumer selects said command, the user interface 1 transmits said command to a processing unit 2.

The processing unit 2 will match the command with a predefined sequence 7 recorded in its storage memory 6. Said processing unit 2 will then transmit the predefined sequence 7 to at least one robotic arm 3 so that the latter executes said sequence predefined 7 preferably by coming into contact with at least one exhibit. The end result being the display of a demonstration by the robotic arm on the exposed device. Thus, the physical interaction of the robotic arm 3 with the object is configured to control the object by contact between the robotic arm and a part of the object, advantageously and without limitation, the part of the object can be keys keyboards, buttons, touch screen etc.

In another embodiment of the invention, control information corresponding to the predefined sequence is transmitted in parallel to the object. A synchronization of the display of the demonstration on the screen and of the movement of the robotic arm 3 makes it possible to simulate the interaction. This advantageous solution then makes it possible to keep the display case in operation when the robotic arm 3 experiences a failure. But also, to allow an "interaction" between the arm and exhibits not configured to physically interact with the arm. In this way, the movement of the arm is in this case a simulation of a real interaction between a user and the object. The control of the object is carried out in this case via a transmission of data to the object, for example by a wireless or wired control in particular via a socket for example in USB (Universal Serial Bus) format. The interaction between the arm and the object does not necessarily imply contact. Thus, the physical interaction of the robotic arm 3 with the object is configured so as not to control the object, to simulate a command, the system comprising means for applying the simulated command to the object, for example by wireless or wired.

The user interface 1 is preferably composed of an information zone (such as a screen, at least one indicator light, a sound system, etc.) and at least one interaction zone 4.

Ladite zone d'information permet d'informer l'utilisateur de l'état actuel du dispositif.Said information zone makes it possible to inform the user of the current state of the device.

In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the interaction zone 4 is composed of at least one of the following elements: push button, touch screen, graphic code reader, presence and / or movement detector. In this embodiment, the interaction zone 4 is located on the display case.

In another embodiment of the invention also compatible with the previous one, the interaction zone 4 is located on a portable device and preferably on a smart phone. In this case, a first case is that a graphic code (a QR code (Quick Response Code) for example) is displayed on the window or on the exhibited object and communication tools wireless are included in the user interface. Typically, the code is read on the portable device, which launches a web page (or a function of a dedicated application present on the portable device) so as to access a display of available commands. The device can provide this page or access it from a server. Wireless telephony communication technologies are sufficient for these steps. Wireless communication tools are in particular wifi® chips, Bluetooth® or any wireless telephony technology. When the user scans the graphic code with the handheld device, the available commands are displayed on the handheld device. The command chosen by the user is then transmitted preferably to the user interface 1 by the aforementioned wireless communication means.

L'interface utilisateur 1 va à son tour transmettre la commande sélectionnée par l'utilisateur à l'unité de traitement 2.User interface 1 will in turn transmit the command selected by the user to processing unit 2.

Another possibility of interfacing with a portable device consists of the use of at least one radio frequency tag obeying, for example, RFID technology (for radio frequency identification), in particular in the near field with the so-called NFC (Near Field Communication) technique. or near field communication).

These modes of communication (graphic codes and radio labels or other wireless system) are not essential; they can also be combined within the invention.

An example of realization is an interactive showcase with a smart phone in demonstration. Outside the window, buttons are accessible to the user. Inside, a robotic arm 3 emulates a human finger and interacts with the interactive object.
  • When the user presses the 1st button, he observes the video playback capabilities of the phone: the robotic arm 3 navigates the phone menus, selects a video and launches it. Some time later, it performs a new sequence to return to the main menu. (The return to the main menu can also be motivated by pressing another button, synchronizing with another showcase, etc.).
  • When the user presses a 2nd button, he observes the gaming capabilities of the device: the robotic arm 3 navigates through the phone menus, selects a game and then launches it. Some time later, it performs a new sequence to return to the main menu.
  • In the case where several of these windows are located nearby, the windows can be synchronized regularly to attract the eye: for example the simultaneous launch of an identical video on each screen.
  • In another embodiment of the invention, a single robotic arm 3 is used for several objects to be displayed (of different types or not). In this embodiment, when the user operates a given command, the arm will move to interact with another exposed object.

It is specified that in the realizations where several exhibits are present, these objects can just as well be similar or be different. Several arms may also be present. When several arms are present in a pane to interact with one or more object (s) exposed (s), the arms can be of different sizes and shapes, or be similar.

The processing unit 2 can include in particular a sequencer 5, a storage memory 6, a synchronization and external communication device 9 which communicates with a server 10 or with another device of the invention, possibly an information screen. system, an event log and at least one external connection port such as USB (Universal Serial Bus, in French Universal Serial Bus), SD card (Secure Digital or Sécurité Numérique in French).

The event log makes it possible to save in particular all the statistics of use of the showcase such as the number of sequences used, the time of this use, the failure rate, etc ... The event log can also transmit information recorded by internet. Thus, it can automatically for example periodically transmit the information of the day to at least one remote computer unit accessible to an administrator. Statistics can also be edited by the event log through a computer program. In this hypothesis, the data are in particular grouped by theme and comparisons with previous collections are made. The collection of this data is particularly important. Indeed, these data allow the merchant to have a very precise idea of the objects which interest customers the most, but also of the attendance rate. This notably enables the merchant to improve his inventory and personnel management. The manufacturer of the object can also have, thanks to the invention, feedback. The storage memory 6 stores the predefined sequences 7 previously recorded. The processing unit 2 can in particular be completely included in one of the embodiments of the invention at the local level of the device, said processing unit 2 may also in another embodiment of the invention be partially offset to the outside. of said device. In this case, means of communication with or without wire allow in particular access to the predefined sequences.

The synchronization and external communications device 9 makes it possible in particular to update the device from a server 10, to add or delete sequences in the storage memory 6 and to synchronize several showcases, as well as to retrieve and analyze the event log. The latter is also accessible via the system information screen. Reading the event log as well as updating the sequences can be done by inserting a USB key.

In one embodiment of the invention, switching on and activating a display case comprises in particular the following steps:
  1. 1. Power on
  2. 2. Optional: update required? Yes the update is done, no we go to the next step.
  3. 3. Optional: request for statistics? Yes the statistics are transmitted, no we go to the next step.
  4. 4. Optional: presence of other showcase (s)? Yes, synchronization can take place, no we go to the next step.
  5. 5. Waiting for interaction with a user
  6. 6. Interaction zone 4 number 1 activated gives the launch of the corresponding predefined sequence 7.
  7. 7. Optional: synchronization with other showcase (s) if the option is activated.
  8. 8. Return pending interaction with a user.

The robotic arm 3, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, comprises in particular a sufficient number of motors to perform movements along up to six axes (three rotations and three translations). Said robotic arm is advantageously composed, in its part in contact with the exposed object, of materials allowing interaction with a touch screen. In another embodiment of the invention, the robotic arm 3 comprises several points of contact with the exposed object in order in particular to increase the possible interactions with the presented object.

Depending on the embodiments of the invention, several robotic arms 3 may be present in a single exhibition area or several objects may be present in a display case comprising a single robotic arm.

The showcase comprises a display 14 and advantageously a material marker 11 in order to position any object at a precise and fixed location. In one embodiment of the invention, the display case comprises an additional screen making it possible to stage the exhibited object. Advantageously, the screen is at the back of the display case and displays a decoration suitable for the use of the exhibited object. Advantageously, this characteristic makes it possible to easily adapt the decoration of each display case as a function of the object exposed without intervening directly on the display case. The installation of the showcase is therefore simplified and more economical. Said display 14 may comprise a support for the object tilted at different angles and means for recharging the exposed object. These recharging systems 12 may or may not be wired. Wireless charging occurs in particular through the use of induction charging technologies such as the Qi (Wireless Energy Transmission) and Rezence standards (developed by A4WP Alliance for Wireless Power or Alliance for Wireless Energy in French) which is in or below the display 14.

The material marker 11 may be part of a notch for receiving a zone of the object, for example by its edge, and configured to position the object in a manner which can be detected by the device. The material mark 11 can also be formed by an electrical recharging and / or data communication connector, present in the exhibition area and of a format compatible with a corresponding connector (male / female compatibility for example) carried by the object. . In all these cases, the device has a fixed point where the object can be positioned.

From a logistical point of view, the interactive object on display can be changed regularly (which does not exclude the device being only dedicated to a single type of object). To do this, an operator:
  1. 1. turn off the display case,
  2. 2. position the new interactive object using the material marker 11: a notch in the base where one end of the smartphone can easily be positioned (for example the bottom-right-front corner).
  3. 3.insert a USB key in the display case with the new code for the predefined sequences 7.
  4. 4. turn on the window. This one:
    • loads the new predefined sequence code 7 to work with the new interactive object.
    • puts on the USB key the statistical data from the event log regarding the use of the interactive terminal with the previous object.
    • is ready to work with the new exhibit.

Ladite séquence de coordonnée de point est ensuite enregistrée dans la mémoire de stockage 6 de l'unité de traitement 2.The determination of a new sequence during an update or a change of product for example is done in particular by manual programming and / or software. Said programming can be done in particular by means of a programming grid of sequences 13 graduated on the abscissa and on the ordinate and configured so that its point of origin in particular called A1 is advantageously located at the intersection of the material reference mark 11 and the surface. of the display including in particular the refill system 12. The missing coordinate can then be determined in particular by adding a depth mark (Z axis) in front of the display 14, but also by calculating polar coordinates. In this case the inclination of the angle of the object exposed on the display makes it possible to calculate the final coordinate point. Said sequence programming grid 13 is preferably made of a transparent material such as plastic. Said sequence programming grid 13 is advantageously positioned on the interactive part such as a touch screen or a keyboard of the exposed object in order to determine the coordinate points of the new sequence. Said point coordinate sequence is then recorded in the storage memory 6 of the processing unit 2.

In this way, one can easily place various objects in the device of the invention and establish a parameterization, including a location in space, of the zones of the exposed object which are the object of a physical interaction with the object. robotic arm 3. The predefined sequences 7 are in this context, for example, sequences of movement of the robotic arm from or to a point of the exposed object.

    1. a. Atteint H-12, attend 1 seconde.
    2. b. Retrait, attend 5 secondes.
    3. c. Atteint B-8 et glisse vers S-5
    4. d. Retrait
The software update can be prepared as follows:
  1. 1. the new object has been positioned using the material reference 11 mentioned above.
  2. 2. A programming grid for sequences 13 on transparent film has been glued to the interactive object. It makes it possible to define precise places that the robotic arm 3 will reach. For example, a rectangular grid where the columns are numbered from A to H, and the rows from 1 to 16.
    1. at. Reached H-12, wait 1 second.
    2. b. Withdrawal, wait 5 seconds.
    3. vs. Hit B-8 and slide to S-5
    4. d. Withdrawal

The invention therefore makes it possible to expose an object in a secure manner to malicious acts and to accidents while preserving significant interactivity. This solution is achieved thanks to the presence of a robotic arm 3 and of predefined sequences 7 recorded which allow a controlled interaction of the users with the exposed object.

In addition, it may possibly collect statistical data regarding its use, for example by analyzing:
  1. at. Consumer interests (comparison of demo orders initiated by consumers).
