Das Vakuum innerhalb der gasdicht verschlossenen Hülle 4 bedingt im Zusammenwirken mit dem äußeren Luftdruck ein Zusammendrücken der Hülle 4 im Bereich des Hohlraums des Kernrings 8 mit der Wirkung, dass durch die Deckfolie 6 auf der konvexen Seite Kräfte auf die Vorratsrolle 1 ausgeübt werden, die zu einem Flachdrücken der Vorratsrolle 1 führen, wie dies in der Fig. 3 gezeichnet ist. Method for producing flatly-pressed supply rolls (1) of a pre-compressed sealing tape, wherein an open-pore foam web is wound under compression onto a hollow core to form a parent roll and is retained by means of a sheath before the sheathed parent roll is subdivided into individual supply rolls (1) and these supply rolls (1) are each flatly pressed in their own right, characterised in that the supply rolls (1) are each inserted into a gas-tight cover (4) consisting of two tension-proof cover films (5, 6) which, with the exception of an insertion opening (7), are connected to one another on the edge side, and said supply rolls are introduced into a vacuum chamber (2) and in that the insertion opening (7) of the cover (4) is closed in a gas-tight manner after evacuation of the vacuum chamber (2) before the supply rolls (1) are flatly pressed by means of ventilation of the vacuum chamber (2).
