Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of diving masks, including masks used for underwater hiking, also called PMT (Palmes-Mask-Tuba), in English “snorkeling”.
- PMT Palmes-Mask-Tuba
- the underwater hiker is equipped with a mask for vision, and a snorkel for breathing.
- the tuba consists of a tube whose lower end is provided with a mouth portion which is housed in the mouth of the user, and an upper end for both the admission of fresh air and Exhaled air exhaust.
- the appearance of mist is due to the fact that the user's nose opens into the vision chamber located between the visor and the eyes of the user.
- the document FR 2,720,050 offers a diving mask to breathe through the nose and mouth.
- the exhaled air circulates in the skirt constituted by a flexible hollow seal which adheres between the mask and the face.
- Such a mask however, has a disadvantage. If the user uses the mask attachment system too hard, the flexible hollow seal will crash against the face, which will cause the obstruction of the line through which the expired airflow flows. On the other hand, if the user does not sufficiently serve the fixing system, there will not be a perfect seal between the face and the skirt, as a result of which water may penetrate inside the chambers. lower or higher, which is not desirable.
- An object of the invention is to provide a diving mask remedies including the aforementioned drawbacks.
- the frame therefore has at least a dual function, namely to maintain the visor and constitute a means of air circulation.
- connection between the frame and the flexible skirt is preferably obtained by a flexible junction between the flexible skirt and the lower end of the first inner conduit.
- the frame comprises an upper portion and a lower portion assembled with the upper portion, and the first inner conduit is formed in the upper portion. More preferably, the first inner conduit opens at the lower end of the upper portion.
- the flexible skirt further comprises at least a first sleeve projecting from a first lateral edge of the flexible skirt extending towards the upper part of the mask, the first sleeve having a lower end opening into the lower chamber and one end. upper, opposite the lower end, fluidly connected with the lower end of the first inner conduit.
- the sleeve projecting from the first side edge of the flexible skirt it is not likely to be crushed on itself in case of significant tightening of the fastening system.
- the flexible skirt is made of silicone, while the frame is made of rigid plastic, such as polypropylene or polycarbonate.
- the frame comprises at least a first lateral connection engaged in the upper end of the first sleeve.
- this first lateral connection extends towards the lower part of the mask.
- This first lateral connection is preferably curved towards the inside of the mask.
- the upper end of the first sleeve has a lower cross section smaller than the cross section of the first side connector.
- the upper end of the first sleeve is flush with a lateral side of the frame, which makes it possible to obtain a frame having a lateral side devoid of roughness. Thanks to this arrangement, the sleeve does not provide a plug, and therefore does not risk being inadvertently disconnected from the first side connector.
- the first lateral connection comprises at least one rib on its outer face, said rib cooperating with the inner face of the upper end of the first sleeve.
- the upper end of the first sleeve deforms in contact with the rib. This improves the seal between the first sleeve and the first lateral connection, while improving the anchoring of the first sleeve to the first lateral connection.
- the frame comprises an upper portion and a lower portion
- the first inner duct is formed in the upper portion of the frame
- the first inner duct extends between the top of the frame and a lower end of the upper portion of the frame
- the first lateral connection projects from the lower end of the upper portion
- the lower portion of the frame has an upper end assembled with the lower end of the upper portion.
- the frame consists of at least two parts, namely the upper portion constituting an upper hoop surrounding the upper periphery of the flexible skirt, and the lower portion, formed of one or more elements constituting a lower strapping surrounding the lower periphery of the flexible skirt.
- Such an arrangement is advantageous since it allows the mask to be manufactured in a minimum of parts.
- the upper portion constituting an upper strapping, is preferably molded in one piece.
- the lower portion and the upper portion form a single piece.
- the flexible skirt is attached to the upper and lower portions of the frame.
- the skirt comprises a peripheral sealing lip arranged to bear against the face of the user, and the first sleeve flanks said peripheral sealing lip.
- the first sleeve extends outside the flexible skirt up towards the upper part of the mask. This avoids a crushing the first sleeve on itself, and thus an obstruction of the sleeve, while promoting a flow of exhaled air flow to the upper portion of the frame, which promotes the evacuation of stale air.
- the partition forms a single piece with the flexible skirt.
- the flexible skirt is a single piece, it being understood that the first sleeve forms a single piece with the flexible skirt.
- the flexible skirt comprises an upper sleeve cooperating with a top fitting of the frame in which opens the intake air channel inspired tuba, said upper sleeve opening into the upper chamber.
- the top sleeve forms a single piece with the flexible skirt. More preferably, the top sleeve is disposed between the peripheral lip and the upper portion of the frame.
- the top fitting protrudes from an upper portion of the frame, while the top sleeve protrudes from an upper edge of the flexible skirt, the top fitting engaging inside the top sleeve.
- the cross section of the top sleeve is slightly smaller than the cross section of the top fitting to provide a seal between the two elements. More preferably, the top sleeve has at least one rib projecting from its outer face, said rib cooperating with an inner wall of the top connector, and to further improve the seal between the two elements connected to each other. 'other.
- the tuba further comprises a second exhaled air outlet channel
- the frame further comprises a second internal duct for exhaled air, which has an upper end opening into the second exhaled air channel, and a lower end fluidly communicating with the lower chamber.
- the mask according to the invention comprises two independent circuits for exhaled air.
- Such an arrangement has several advantages. In the first place, it facilitates breathing, in particular by making it possible to expel the stale air more quickly, which is particularly necessary when the user makes a muscular effort, for example in swimming faster. In the second place, the underwater hiker can continue to breathe even if one of the two expired air circuits, for example the first internal duct, would become clogged.
- the flexible skirt comprises a second sleeve projecting from a second lateral edge of the skirt, opposite to the first lateral edge, said second sleeve having a lower end opening into the lower chamber and an upper end, opposite to the lower end, fluidly connected with the lower end of the second inner conduit.
- the tuba has an upper portion provided with a cage permeable to air, the tuba further comprising a float movable in said cage, said float having an upper end provided with a closure device, said float being arranged so that when the tuba is immersed in the water, the float moves so that the closure device closes the inlet of the tuba.
- the float is a hollow element containing a volume of air, while the closure device consists of a flexible membrane. Still preferably, the float comprises a body in which is fitted the flexible membrane, which gives the float very good strength.
- the air permeable cage is preferably constituted by an upper portion of the tuba in which slots are formed.
- the cage has in its lower part holes for the evacuation of water that could enter the latter.
- the cage is also disposed on a side of the upper body of the tuba in which the inlet and exhaust channels extend.
- the shutter device is configured to close the main orifice in the case where the snorkel is immersed in water.
- the submerged float undergoing an Archimedes pressure, moves until the closure device, preferably a flexible membrane, closes the main orifice.
- the closure device preferably a flexible membrane
- the entrance of the tuba is closed. The user is therefore unlikely to suck water. It may, however, expire as the expired airflow can counteract the buoyancy force acting on the float.
- the fresh air enters the fluidic communication chamber through the main orifice when the float, in the down position because of the use of gravity, does not obstruct the entrance of the tuba.
- the second check valve is closed while the first valve passes fresh air from the fluidic communication chamber through the inlet, the fresh air then flowing successively into the intake channel. of inspired air, in the upper chamber via the top fitting and the top sleeve, then into the lower chamber where it is inspired by the user. It is specified that the non-return valve of the partition allows the inspired air to pass through the partition.
- the air exhaled by the user in the lower chamber flows successively into the first sleeve, (as well as into the second sleeve when it is present), then in the first internal duct, (and in the second internal duct when it is present), then in the first exhaled air exhaust duct, (and in the second exhaust duct of air expired when present).
- the exhaled air then flows into the fluidic communication chamber via the first exit port and exits the fluidic communication chamber via the main port.
- the stale air then escapes out of the tuba.
- the tuba has a body having an upper end, the inspired air intake channel and the first exhaled air exhaust channel extend into the body, and the fluidic communication chamber is formed in a hood tightly attached to the upper end of the body.
- the tuba is removable or tilting. This reduces the size of the mask when it is not used.
- the mask according to the invention further comprises an elastic holding strap which extends between an upper portion of the frame and a lower portion of the frame.
- the elastic strap comprises at least one point of connection with one or the other of the lower or upper portions of the frame, said connection point being constituted by the cooperation of a beaded end of the elastic strap with a slot formed in the lower or upper portion of the frame.
- An interest is to facilitate the mounting operation of the elastic strap, its retention relative to the frame.
- the slot is formed by a loop fixed to the frame.
- the elastic strap has two upper connection points with the upper portion of the frame, and two lower connection points with the lower portion of the frame.
- the elastic strap has the shape of an "X" that covers the rear portion of the user's head, which has the effect of providing a stable maintenance of the mask on the user's head.

Description
The present invention relates to the field of diving masks, including masks used for underwater hiking, also called PMT (Palmes-Mask-Tuba), in English "snorkeling".
This underwater activity allows you to observe the seabed while swimming on the surface of the water. The underwater hiker must be able to hold the head underwater while breathing.
Generally, the underwater hiker is equipped with a mask for vision, and a snorkel for breathing. The tuba consists of a tube whose lower end is provided with a mouth portion which is housed in the mouth of the user, and an upper end for both the admission of fresh air and Exhaled air exhaust.
It is known that such a material has many disadvantages. First of all, breathing by mouth is not natural, some people have difficulty breathing orally with a snorkel. Another disadvantage is that it is not possible to speak underwater when you have a snorkel in your mouth.
Another disadvantage, related to the use of the mask, is that the inner wall of the visor generally tends to fog, which affects the good visibility, and which forces the user to regularly clean his mask. The appearance of mist is due to the fact that the user's nose opens into the vision chamber located between the visor and the eyes of the user.
Also, the use of this mask-snorkel device is uncomfortable.
- un cadre ayant une partie supérieure ;
- une visière fixée au cadre ;
- une jupe souple fixée au cadre, la jupe comportant une cloison délimitant une chambre supérieure pour la vision d'une chambre inférieure pour la respiration, la cloison étant agencée pour être en appui au-dessus du nez de l'utilisateur de manière que la bouche et le nez de l'utilisateur se trouvent dans la chambre inférieure, pendant que les yeux de l'utilisateur se trouvent dans la chambre supérieure, la cloison comportant au moins un passage agencé pour permettre une circulation d'air inspiré dirigée de la chambre supérieure vers la chambre inférieure lors d'une phase d'inspiration de l'utilisateur ;
- a frame having a top portion;
- a visor attached to the frame;
- a flexible skirt attached to the frame, the skirt comprising a partition defining an upper chamber for the vision of a lower chamber for breathing, the partition being arranged to bear above the nose of the user so that the mouth and the nose of the user are in the lower chamber, while the eyes of the user are in the upper chamber, the partition having at least one passage arranged to allow an inspired air flow directed from the upper chamber to the lower chamber during a phase of inspiration of the user;
- a snorkel having an inspired air intake channel and at least a first exhaled air exhaust channel, said snorkel being in the extension of the upper part of the frame, the inspired air intake channel opening into the upper chamber, while the first exhaled air exhaust channel communicates with the lower chamber.
According to this document, the exhaled air circulates in the skirt constituted by a flexible hollow seal which adheres between the mask and the face.
Such a mask, however, has a disadvantage.
An object of the invention is to provide a diving mask remedies including the aforementioned drawbacks.
- the frame is rigid, and
- in the frame is provided at least a first internal duct for exhaled air, said first inner duct having an upper end opening into the exhaled air exhaust duct, and a lower end fluidly communicating with the lower chamber.
Insofar as the frame is rigid, it is understood that the first inner conduit can not be crushed on itself, unlike the hollow seal of the prior art.
The frame therefore has at least a dual function, namely to maintain the visor and constitute a means of air circulation.
The connection between the frame and the flexible skirt is preferably obtained by a flexible junction between the flexible skirt and the lower end of the first inner conduit.
Preferably, the frame comprises an upper portion and a lower portion assembled with the upper portion, and the first inner conduit is formed in the upper portion. More preferably, the first inner conduit opens at the lower end of the upper portion.
Advantageously, the flexible skirt further comprises at least a first sleeve projecting from a first lateral edge of the flexible skirt extending towards the upper part of the mask, the first sleeve having a lower end opening into the lower chamber and one end. upper, opposite the lower end, fluidly connected with the lower end of the first inner conduit.
In addition, the sleeve projecting from the first side edge of the flexible skirt, it is not likely to be crushed on itself in case of significant tightening of the fastening system.
Preferably, the flexible skirt is made of silicone, while the frame is made of rigid plastic, such as polypropylene or polycarbonate.
Advantageously, the frame comprises at least a first lateral connection engaged in the upper end of the first sleeve.
Preferably, this first lateral connection extends towards the lower part of the mask. This first lateral connection is preferably curved towards the inside of the mask.
More preferably, the upper end of the first sleeve has a lower cross section smaller than the cross section of the first side connector. An interest is to improve the seal between the upper end of the first sleeve and the first lateral connection.
Preferably, the upper end of the first sleeve is flush with a lateral side of the frame, which makes it possible to obtain a frame having a lateral side devoid of roughness. Thanks to this arrangement, the sleeve does not provide a plug, and therefore does not risk being inadvertently disconnected from the first side connector.
According to a preferred embodiment, the first lateral connection comprises at least one rib on its outer face, said rib cooperating with the inner face of the upper end of the first sleeve. The upper end of the first sleeve deforms in contact with the rib. This improves the seal between the first sleeve and the first lateral connection, while improving the anchoring of the first sleeve to the first lateral connection.
Advantageously, the frame comprises an upper portion and a lower portion, the first inner duct is formed in the upper portion of the frame, the first inner duct extends between the top of the frame and a lower end of the upper portion of the frame, and the first lateral connection projects from the lower end of the upper portion.
According to a preferred embodiment, the lower portion of the frame has an upper end assembled with the lower end of the upper portion. In this embodiment, the frame consists of at least two parts, namely the upper portion constituting an upper hoop surrounding the upper periphery of the flexible skirt, and the lower portion, formed of one or more elements constituting a lower strapping surrounding the lower periphery of the flexible skirt.
Such an arrangement is advantageous since it allows the mask to be manufactured in a minimum of parts.
The upper portion, constituting an upper strapping, is preferably molded in one piece.
According to a variant, the lower portion and the upper portion form a single piece.
According to a preferred method of assembly, the flexible skirt is attached to the upper and lower portions of the frame.
Advantageously, the skirt comprises a peripheral sealing lip arranged to bear against the face of the user, and the first sleeve flanks said peripheral sealing lip.
Thus, the first sleeve extends outside the flexible skirt up towards the upper part of the mask. This avoids a crushing the first sleeve on itself, and thus an obstruction of the sleeve, while promoting a flow of exhaled air flow to the upper portion of the frame, which promotes the evacuation of stale air.
Advantageously, the partition forms a single piece with the flexible skirt. The flexible skirt is a single piece, it being understood that the first sleeve forms a single piece with the flexible skirt.
Advantageously, the flexible skirt comprises an upper sleeve cooperating with a top fitting of the frame in which opens the intake air channel inspired tuba, said upper sleeve opening into the upper chamber.
Preferably, the top sleeve forms a single piece with the flexible skirt. More preferably, the top sleeve is disposed between the peripheral lip and the upper portion of the frame.
Preferably, the top fitting protrudes from an upper portion of the frame, while the top sleeve protrudes from an upper edge of the flexible skirt, the top fitting engaging inside the top sleeve.
The cross section of the top sleeve is slightly smaller than the cross section of the top fitting to provide a seal between the two elements. More preferably, the top sleeve has at least one rib projecting from its outer face, said rib cooperating with an inner wall of the top connector, and to further improve the seal between the two elements connected to each other. 'other.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the tuba further comprises a second exhaled air outlet channel, the frame further comprises a second internal duct for exhaled air, which has an upper end opening into the second exhaled air channel, and a lower end fluidly communicating with the lower chamber.
Thus, the mask according to the invention comprises two independent circuits for exhaled air. Such an arrangement has several advantages.
Advantageously, the flexible skirt comprises a second sleeve projecting from a second lateral edge of the skirt, opposite to the first lateral edge, said second sleeve having a lower end opening into the lower chamber and an upper end, opposite to the lower end, fluidly connected with the lower end of the second inner conduit.
Advantageously, the tuba has an upper portion provided with a cage permeable to air, the tuba further comprising a float movable in said cage, said float having an upper end provided with a closure device, said float being arranged so that when the tuba is immersed in the water, the float moves so that the closure device closes the inlet of the tuba.
Preferably, the float is a hollow element containing a volume of air, while the closure device consists of a flexible membrane. Still preferably, the float comprises a body in which is fitted the flexible membrane, which gives the float very good strength.
The air permeable cage is preferably constituted by an upper portion of the tuba in which slots are formed.
Preferably, the cage has in its lower part holes for the evacuation of water that could enter the latter.
The cage is also disposed on a side of the upper body of the tuba in which the inlet and exhaust channels extend.
- un orifice principal communiquant avec l'entrée du tuba ;
- un orifice d'entrée communiquant avec l'entrée du canal d'admission d'air inspiré ;
- au moins un premier orifice de sortie communiquant avec la sortie du premier canal d'échappement ;
- un premier clapet anti-retour agencé pour obturer l'orifice d'entrée lors d'une phase d'expiration ;
- un deuxième clapet anti-retour agencé pour obturer le premier orifice de sortie lors d'une phase d'inspiration ;
- a main port communicating with the entrance of the tuba;
- an inlet port communicating with the inlet of the inspired air intake channel;
- at least a first output port communicating with the output of the first exhaust channel;
- a first non-return valve arranged to close the inlet orifice during an expiration phase;
- a second non-return valve arranged to close the first outlet orifice during an inspiration phase;
- the tuba further comprising a fluidic communication chamber into which open the main port, the inlet and the first outlet.
It is understood that the shutter device is configured to close the main orifice in the case where the snorkel is immersed in water. To do this, the submerged float, undergoing an Archimedes pressure, moves until the closure device, preferably a flexible membrane, closes the main orifice. In this case, the entrance of the tuba is closed. The user is therefore unlikely to suck water. It may, however, expire as the expired airflow can counteract the buoyancy force acting on the float.
When the snorkel is out of the water, and during an inspiration phase, the fresh air enters the fluidic communication chamber through the main orifice when the float, in the down position because of the use of gravity, does not obstruct the entrance of the tuba. The second check valve is closed while the first valve passes fresh air from the fluidic communication chamber through the inlet, the fresh air then flowing successively into the intake channel. of inspired air, in the upper chamber via the top fitting and the top sleeve, then into the lower chamber where it is inspired by the user. It is specified that the non-return valve of the partition allows the inspired air to pass through the partition.
When the snorkel is out of the water, and during an expiration phase, the air exhaled by the user in the lower chamber flows successively into the first sleeve, (as well as into the second sleeve when it is present), then in the first internal duct, (and in the second internal duct when it is present), then in the first exhaled air exhaust duct, (and in the second exhaust duct of air expired when present). The exhaled air then flows into the fluidic communication chamber via the first exit port and exits the fluidic communication chamber via the main port. The stale air then escapes out of the tuba.
Preferably, the tuba has a body having an upper end, the inspired air intake channel and the first exhaled air exhaust channel extend into the body, and the fluidic communication chamber is formed in a hood tightly attached to the upper end of the body.
According to an advantageous aspect of the invention, the tuba is removable or tilting. This reduces the size of the mask when it is not used.
Advantageously, the mask according to the invention further comprises an elastic holding strap which extends between an upper portion of the frame and a lower portion of the frame.
Preferably, the elastic strap comprises at least one point of connection with one or the other of the lower or upper portions of the frame, said connection point being constituted by the cooperation of a beaded end of the elastic strap with a slot formed in the lower or upper portion of the frame.
An interest is to facilitate the mounting operation of the elastic strap, its retention relative to the frame.
Preferably, the slot is formed by a loop fixed to the frame.
Still preferably, the elastic strap has two upper connection points with the upper portion of the frame, and two lower connection points with the lower portion of the frame.
Thus, the elastic strap has the shape of an "X" that covers the rear portion of the user's head, which has the effect of providing a stable maintenance of the mask on the user's head.
In addition, the upper portion of the frame advantageously has a triple function, namely to maintain the visor, form an exhaled and inspired air flow means, and allow the attachment of the elastic strap.
Advantageously, the diving mask according to the invention further comprises a purge valve disposed in the breathing chamber for discharging liquid out of the mask. By a strong expiration, the water possibly contained in the lower chamber will be expelled out of the mask via the purge valve.
Preferably, to make the wearing of the mask more comfortable, the partition has a fold forming a lip intended to come into contact with the user's nose.
Advantageously, the passage of the partition comprises a non-return valve arranged to allow an inspired air flow directed solely from the upper chamber to the lower chamber during a phase of inspiration of the user.
Thanks to the presence of the non-return valve, the exhaled air flow does not rise in the upper chamber, which improves the efficiency of the anti-mist system of the mask.

The
In this example, the partition comprises a pair of passages provided with
It is found that the
In this example, the

It is understood that during an inspiration phase, fresh air enters the tuba, flows into the inspired air intake channel, then into the
On va maintenant s'intéresser au circuit d'air expiré.We will now be interested in the expired air circuit.
Furthermore, according to the invention, the

It is therefore understood that the exhaled air flows successively through the

The
The
