- A numbering printer for printing a security document with a character sequence (8), in particular for printing banknotes and/or securities, comprising a plurality of, but at least three, daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) arranged adjacent to each other, each of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) having printing surfaces (6) spaced apart from each other in the circumferential direction, wherein engravings (7) are arranged on the printing surfaces (6) for producing a character, the engravings (7) being positioned such that the characters of the character sequence (8) are printable below each other onto the security document, and the positioning of the engravings (7) on the printing surfaces (6) differs for at least two of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), so that the character sequence (8) is printable on the security document in a manner which is different from a linear alignment, wherein in each of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the engravings (7) are positioned on the printing surfaces (6) such that the course of the character sequence (8) has a defined geometry and extends in a curve-like manner, characterized in that the course of the character sequence (8) corresponds to a sinus or cosinus function which is rotated by 90°.
- The numbering printer according to claim 1, characterized in that in at least one of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the engravings (7) are positioned off-centre on the printing surfaces (6).
- The numbering printer according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the engravings (7) of at least two daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) each have characters of different size and/or font.
- The numbering printer according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the engravings (7) of at least one daisywheel (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are, contrary to the engravings (7) of another daisywheel (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), arranged rotated about a normal vector of the respective printing surface (6).
- The numbering printer according to claim 4, characterized in that the engravings (7) of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are arranged rotated such that the characters assume the direction of the course of the character sequence (8) and follow the course of the character sequence (8) in their orientation.
- The numbering printer according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the difference in the positioning of the engravings (7) of at least two of the daisywheels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) is 0.01 mm to 0.1 mm, in particular 0.05 mm.
- A security document, in particular banknote and/or security paper, comprising a character sequence (8) differing from a linear alignment, the course of the character sequence (8) having a defined geometry and extending in a curve-like manner, the course of the character sequence (8) corresponding to a sinus or cosinus function which is rotated by 90°, wherein the character sequence (8) has been produced using a numbering printer according to one of claims 1 to 6.
