Claims (9)

  1. Knife with a housing (11) and with a blade holder (13) for holding a blade (17), the blade holder (13) being movable between a safety position in which the blade (17) is disposed inside the housing (11) so as to be inaccessible and a cutting position in which the blade (17) extends at least partially out of the housing (11), the cutting position being defined by the interaction of at least one stop surface (32a, 32b) associated with the housing (11) and at least one counterpart surface (23a, 23b) associated with the blade holder (13), characterised in that one module (14) out of a set of at least two modules (14, 25) is releasably secured to the knife, the module is provided with a retaining surface which forms the stop surface (32a, 32b) or the counterpart surface, and the position of the retaining surface on the module defines a first blade extension length and the module (14) is interchangeable with at least one other module (25) of the set of modules (14, 25), the position of the retaining surface on the other module (25) defining a second blade extension length which is different from the first blade extension length.
  2. Knife as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the module (14, 25) can be releasably secured to the blade holder (13) or to the housing (11).
  3. Knife as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the module (14, 25) can be secured in a mounting seat.
  4. Knife as claimed in one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the module (14, 25) has fastening means (35) which can be releasably moved into engagement with counterpart fastening means (36) of the blade holder (13) or of the housing (11).
  5. Knife as claimed in one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the retaining surfaces of the different modules (14, 25) of the set of modules are offset from one another in a direction of movement (x1, x2) of the blade holder (13).
  6. Knife as claimed in one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the retaining surface is formed by at least one projection of the module (14, 25).
  7. Knife as claimed in claim 6, characterised in that the projection extends transversely to a direction of movement (x1, x2) of the blade holder (13).
  8. Knife as claimed in one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the stop surface (32a, 32b) is disposed in the movement path of the counterpart surface (23a, 23b).
  9. Knife as claimed in one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the counterpart surface (23a, 23b) is disposed on a rear extension (24) of the blade holder (13).
