Such a storage module of the patent document is already known. US-2008006509 . This storage module is intended to constitute a sort output receptacle in a postal sorting machine.

This storage module has stacker operation and unstacker operation. In this storage module, the unstacking order of the postal items is of the LIFO type: the first postal item stored in a stack is the last mail item extracted from the stack.

There is provided a coupling element which forms a kind of barrier at the entrance of the storage area when the storage module is in unstacking mode and which forms the shipping conveyor when the storage module is in stacking mode.

This L-shaped coupling member is pivotally mounted to move from a position where it acts as a barrier to another position where it acts as a conveyor.

In this storage module, the pivoting of the coupling element is manual.

There is also provided another barrier which is sliding and which closes the output of the unstacking storage area when the storage module is in stacking mode.

Such a sliding barrier has the disadvantage of increasing the risk of jamming at the output of the storage module because this sliding barrier can come shear a partially extracted shipment of the stack of shipments when switching from the depilatory operation mode to stacking.

Patent document is known EP-1894868 a sheet unstacking system which uses suction-type controlled aspiration connected to a vacuum chamber and cooperating with a perforated belt mounted on driving pulleys.

It is known that in this type of controlled suction and perforated belt unloading system, two sheets of the top of the stack can be attached to each other so that it is likely that the top sheet will pull the sheet of paper. below when the first is extracted from the stack of leaves.

Therefore, it is known to place next to this unstacking system a system preventing dual or multiple sheets taken by controlled suction.

But these double or multiple anti-plug systems are complex and expensive.

In the patent document EP-1894868 , it is expected that the controlled suction is mounted on a pivoting arm to spread the end of the sheet to be removed from the rest of the sheet pile which reduces the risk of double or multiple setting.

However, such an arrangement is still very complex and expensive to achieve due to the addition of moving mechanical parts.

The patent document EP-0992443 discloses an unstacker for sheets which is similar to that known from the preceding document but in which there is provided an unstacking plate containing the controlled suction, this unstacking plate being rotatably mounted to be able to tilt and suck the front of a leaf to extract from the pile of leaves.

Such an arrangement is still complicated to achieve because of the parts moving. The document DE 10 2006 052315 B3 describes a storage module according to the preamble of claim 1. With the extension of the automatic mail processing functionalities in postal sorting machines and in particular those allowing automatic loading and unloading of the sorting outlets, it is necessary to in the sorting process for the machine automatisms or for machine operators, means to follow in addition to the stacks of sorted mail which are extracted from the sorting outlets of the machine.

Mais ces séparateurs doivent aussi être récupérés à chaque passe de tri du courrier dans la machine de tri pour être recyclé dans le processus de triThese means that separators or dividers known per se must be passed in machine with the flow of the mail to be sorted to fit among the stacks of mail sorted in the sorting outlets. But these separators must also be recovered at each sorting pass of the mail in the sorting machine to be recycled in the sorting process.

To limit the handling of these mail stack separators when sorted mail stacks are recycled to the input of the machine, there is therefore a need for a storage module with stacking and unstacking function as indicated above adapted to such mail stack separators.

These separators are like flat articles similar in size to mail. They are generally made of flexible cardboard sheet and in color. Each separator is thus easily identifiable visually in a sorting outlet when it is interposed between two stacks of mail.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a storage device for flat articles and in particular for mail stack separators with stacking and unstacking functions but which does not have the drawbacks indicated above.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a storage module comprising a storage area for storing flat articles in stack on edge, a main conveyor which extends transversely to the storage area, a stacking function. to transfer an item from the main conveyor to the storage area and stack it at the back of the stack of items in the storage area, and an unstacking function for extracting an article from the rear of the stack of articles and transferring it to the main conveyor, characterized in that the unstacking function comprises a perforated belt unstacking plate and controlled suction nozzle disposed between the main conveyor and the storage area, said unstacking plate having a first segment parallel to the stack of articles and a second segment adjacent to the first segment and extending obliquely with respect to the first segment and in that said controlled suction is disposed in the second oblique segment of the unstacking plate.

The idea underlying the invention is therefore to have an angled unstacking plate having an inclined face in which is arranged the suction system to force a bending deformation of the current flat article to extract from the stack this deformation has the effect of better separating it from the adjacent article in the stack of items to be unstacked.

The front end of this current article is moved by the effect of pneumatic traction to be removed from the rest of the stack of articles at the same time that the stack of articles remains blocked by the jogging edge.

With this arrangement, the storage module can be automatically passed from a stacking mode to an unstacking mode and vice versa in very short delays that remain compatible with the current rates of a postal sorting machine.

This arrangement of the unstacking system also contributes to the compactness and reliability of the storage module.

  • le second segment oblique de la plaque de dépilage fait un angle compris entre 3 et 15° par rapport au dessus de lapile d'articles;
  • lesdits premier et second segments de la plaque de dépilage se coupent aux environs d'un axe longitudinal médian de la pile d'articles;
  • la zone de stockage comporte une plage d'empilage à rouleaux en contact avec le dessous de la pile d'articles;
The storage module according to the invention may have the following particularities:
  • the second oblique segment of the unstacking plate is at an angle of between 3 and 15 ° with respect to the top of the stack of articles;
  • said first and second segments of the unstacking plate intersect at about a median longitudinal axis of the stack of articles;
  • the storage area has a roller stacking pad in contact with the underside of the stack of articles;
  • the unstacking function comprises a movable barrier movable in a first position to block the extraction of an article from the stack of articles and in a second position to allow the extraction of an article from the stack of articles. articles, and this movable barrier is pivotally mounted so as to push back into the storage area an article partially extracted from the stack of articles when it is rotated to move from the second position to the first position.

Description des modes de réalisationDescription of the embodiments

On the Figures 1 to 4 very schematically illustrated a storage module 1 for flat articles according to the invention, here by way of example, for storing separators 2 stacks of mail.

It is understood that the invention can be applied to any type of flat items such as mail or paper sheets or the like.

On the Figures 1 to 4 , the storage module 1 is shown schematically from above, the separators 2 being seen from above in stack on edge in the storage area 3.

A.The storage zone 3 has a bottom or stacking range 4 which extends in a longitudinal direction A and on which the edge separators 2 lie in transverse disposition with respect to the direction A.

A.The storage area has a longitudinal edge delimited by a jogging edge 5 which extends along the direction A.

A pallet 6 is provided in the storage area for sliding along the jogging edge and holding the front of the separator stack 2.

A return system in the position not shown in the figures, such as a spring, is provided to bring the pallet 6 towards the rear of the storage area where an unstacking plate 7 is arranged.

This motorized assembly is slaved to a sensor placed on the unstacking plate 7 to manage the pressure exerted by the stack of separators 2 on the unstacking plate 7.

The bottom 8 may be provided movable in the direction A. For example, it may comprise a toothed band mounted on free pulleys which are arranged at the front and rear of the storage area.

The lower end of the pallet can be engaged in one notch of this band so that the displacement of the pallet is synchronized with the displacement of the band.

The bottom 8 may also advantageously be a free roller stacking pad in contact with the underside of the stack of separators which limits the frictional forces of the separators on the bottom 8 of the storage area.

A).We again represented on Figures 1 to 4 a main conveyor 9 which extends in a main direction D transversely (here perpendicularly) to the storage area (here along the direction A).

The conveyor 9 is here a double-belt conveyor which is able to move by clamping between the bands of edge separators in series in the direction D. As described below, the conveyor 9 can be constituted by the sorting conveyor in a machine postal sorting.

As visible on Figures 1 to 4 the unstacking plate 7 is arranged between the main conveyor 9 and the storage area 3.

A secondary conveyor 10 is provided upstream of the storage area in the direction D to perform a stacking function of the storage module and another secondary conveyor 11 is provided downstream of the storage area in the direction D to achieve a unstacking function of the storage module.

A switching flap 9A is provided on the main conveyor path at the intersection with the conveyor 10 upstream of the storage area in the direction D to deflect the separator 2 moved in series on the edge of the main conveyor to the secondary conveyor 10 and feed the storage area 3 when the storage module is in the stacking function.

La plaque de dépilage 7 est pourvue d'un système 12 à courroie perforée et à aspiration commandée qui permet d'extraire un séparateur de l'arrière de la pile de séparateurs et le transférer vers le convoyeur principal à travers le convoyeur secondaire 11.The unstacking plate 7 is provided with a system 12 with perforated belt and controlled suction which allows to extract a separator of the rear of the separator stack and transfer it to the main conveyor through the secondary conveyor 11.

According to the invention, the unstacking plate 7 has a first segment 7A shown in more detail on the Figures 5 and 6 which is parallel to the stack of separators 2 in the storage area and therefore to the direction D on the Figures 1 to 4 and a second segment 7B adjacent to the segment 7A and extending obliquely with respect to the segment 7A and away from the stack of separators.

As visible again on Figures 5 and 6 the controlled suction represented by 12A (a suction nozzle connected to a vacuum chamber) is disposed in the second segment 7B of the unstacking plate further downstream in the direction D.

Also shown is the perforated strip 12B closed loop engaged on two driving pulleys, this perforated strip cooperating with the suction controlled to extract by suction the last separator stored at the rear of the separator stack and transfer it to the secondary conveyor 11.

In particular, on the figure 5 , the controlled suction 12A is stopped and the current separator 2 to be extracted from the rear of the separator stack is flat parallel to the other separators of the battery.

The space between this current separator 2 and the segment 7B of the unstacking plate forms a sort of separation dihedron 13 which opens towards the secondary conveyor 11 but which is partially closed by the jogging edge 5 of the storage.

The space between the oblique segment 7B and the jogging edge 5 must in practice be greater than the thickness of a separator, for example 3 to 4 times greater.

On the figure 6 , the controlled suction 12A is actuated which has the effect of suction of the front part of the current separator 2 against the segment 7B of the unstacking plate while the rear part of the current separator is pressed against the segment 7A of the unstacking plate.

This results in a bending of the current separator 2 substantially in its middle (transverse medium of the stack) and a shift of the front of the current separator 2 from the rest of the stack of separators.

En même temps, la courroie perforée 12B entraîne en mouvement le séparateur courant 2 pour le séparer de la pile et le transférer vers le convoyeur secondaire 11 à travers le dièdre de séparation 13.At the same time, the perforated belt 12B moves the current separator 2 in motion to separate it from the stack and transfer it to the secondary conveyor 11 through the separation dihedron 13.

Note that the separator adjacent to the current separator 2 in the stack remains in abutment against the jogging edge 5 during the extraction of the current separator 2 which avoids the risk of double or multiple pickup in the storage module mode unstacking.

The angle of inclination of the second segment 7B of the unstacking plate may be between 3 and 15 ° relative to the segment 7A which is parallel to the stack of separators. This angle must be compatible with the flexibility of the separators.

Preferably, the two segments 7A and 7B intersect around a median longitudinal axis of the stack of articles so that each separator is generally deformed in its middle by the unstacking plate without being damaged.

On the Figures 1 to 4 a barrier 14 is shown in the separation dihedron 13.

This barrier 14 is movably mounted to occupy a first position shown on the Figures 1 and 2 in which it blocks the extraction of a separator from the stack of separators when the storage module is in stacking mode.

Barrier 14 is moved on Figures 3 and 4 to occupy a second position in which it allows the extraction of a separator from the stack of separators when the storage module is in unstacking mode.

Advantageously according to the invention, the barrier 14 is a pivoting barrier (as represented by an arrow in an arc on the figures 3 and 4 ) about an axis adjacent to the end of the jogging edge 5 in the separation dihedron. With this arrangement, the pivoting barrier is able to push back into the storage area a separator 2 which would have been partially extracted from the stack during a double take. This separator is pushed back when the barrier 14 moves from the second position to the first position, that is to say when the storage module switches from the unstacking mode to the stacking mode.

This arrangement makes it possible to further reduce the risks of double setting or the risk of jamming and consequently increases the reliability of the storage module according to the invention.

The operation of the storage module with the stacking and unstacking functions is quickly described below in connection with the Figures 1 to 4 .

On the figure 1 separators 2 are already stored in stack on edge in the unstacking zone 3.

Le volet d'aiguillage 9A est orienté pour dévier un flux d'objets du convoyeur principal 9 vers le convoyeur secondaire 10.The switching flap 9A is oriented to divert a flow of objects from the main conveyor 9 to the secondary conveyor 10.

In the stacking mode, the controlled suction 12 is stopped and the barrier 14 is in the first position in which it closes the separation dihedron 13.

On the figure 2 a separator has now arrived in the secondary conveyor 10 and will be stacked at the rear of the stack of separators in the storage area 3.

As separators 2 are moved in series on edge in the main conveyor 9, they are thus deflected one by one by the flap 9A to the secondary conveyor 10 to stack on top of each other in the zone of storage 3.

On the figure 3 , the storage module 1 is now in the unstacking mode.

Le volet 9A ferme donc le passage du convoyeur 9 vers le convoyeur 10.The flap 9A has been actuated in a position shown by an arrow such that the main conveyor 9 shunts the storage module 1. The flap 9A thus closes the passage of the conveyor 9 towards the conveyor 10.

Par ailleurs, la barrière 14 est dans la seconde position selon laquelle elle ouvre le dièdre de séparation 13.Moreover, the barrier 14 is in the second position according to which it opens the separation dihedron 13.

On the figure 4 when the controlled suction 12 is activated, the front of the current separator 2 at the rear of the stack in the storage zone is sucked against the oblique segment 7B of the unstacking plate and this current separator is then extracted and transferred. to the main conveyor 9 through the separation dihedron 13 and the secondary conveyor 11.

On the figure 7 By way of example, there is illustrated a postal sorting machine 20 with a destacker 21 of mailpieces which serializes these mail items in the sorting machine.

In the unstacker feed magazine 21, there are shown two stacks of mail items separated by a separator or interlayer 2, of the type for example of flexible cardboard.

The sorting machine here comprises sorting outlets 22 and a storage module for separators 1 according to the invention which is arranged between the sorting outlets 22 and the unstacker 21 along the sorting conveyor of the machine which constitutes here the conveyor main 9 of the storage module 1.

On the figure 7 a control / control unit is also illustrated which controls the actuators of the sorting machine and in particular the actuators of the shutter 9A, the controlled suction 12 and the barrier 14 in the storage module.

In a postal sorting machine with a sorting conveyor having a return loop to a feed inlet of the machine in mail items, the storage module 1 for mail stack separators can be disposed upstream of this mail loop. return after sorting exits for example.
