Eachelectrical terminal 512 has a terminal body and an elastic contactingarm 5121. The terminal body is fixed in theterminal receiving chamber 211 with an insulative layer formed between theelectrical terminal 512 and an inner wall of theterminal receiving chamber 211 to avoid an electrical conduction between theelectrical terminals 512 and the connectingring 21. - In assembling, the connecting
ring 21 covers the adjacent end portions of the first and thesecond pipe sections ring 21 is fixed to the first and thesecond pipe sections ring 21 to the pipe sections and forming a solid connection between the first and thesecond pipe sections arms 5121 of theelectrical terminals 512 contact against theconductive pads second pipe sections - Refer to
Figs. 6 and 7 , a third pipe section, namely anend pipe section 13 extends through a wall and secures to the wall via a wall mounting mechanism. Theend pipe section 13 has one end located inside the room and mechanically, electrically connected with an adjacentintermediate pipe section 12 via the pipe connection mechanism as described above. The wall mounting mechanism includes a mountingflange 31 with a central through hole for being passed through by theend pipe section 13. The through hole has a size substantially same as that of a cross section of theend pipe section 13. In this way, in case there is a reverse wind outside, the flue gas discharged outside would not return inner of the room via the gap between the end pipe section and the wall. The mountingflange 31 defines a circular groove at a surface thereof facing the wall for receiving a sealingelement 311. In this embodiment, the sealing element is a sealing ring made of rubber material. When the mountingflange 31 is mounted onto the wall, the sealingelement 31 forms a sealing between the wall and the flange to avoid the flue gas discharged outside return into the room. The mountingflange 31 defines mountingholes 313, and fastening members, such as bolts extend through the mountingholes 313 to fasten the mountingflange 31 onto the wall. - As shown in
Fig. 7 , aswitch 61 is disposed at the surface of the mountingflange 31 facing to the wall, and theswitch 61 is connected with a third electrical conductor of theend pipe section 13 in series. Theswitch 41 can be a pressing switch, a reed switch, or other contact switch, can also be a proximity switch, a photoelectric switch, or other non-contact switches. At the time when the mountingflange 31 is fixed to thewall 90, theswitch 61 is turned on, and at the same time, an electric current is generated and passes through theparallel wires electrical conductor 41 in reverse directions. The end pipe section can be secured to the wall via the wall mounting mechanism, which can reduce the case of disconnection of pipe sections. Even if a disconnection of pipe sections happens or the installing of the flue pipe assembly does not meet the requirement, as a result, the switch is opened, then the controller of the gas water heater can sense it and take actions accordingly, such as stop running of the gas water heater to avoid leakage of flue gas. -
Fig. 8 through Fig. 10 shows a flue pipe assembly in accordance with a second embodiment of present invention. The main difference with respect to the first embodiment is that, the connecting ring includes a first portion 221 and asecond portion 222. The first and thesecond portions 221, 222 are separate and fixed to adjacent end portions of the first and thesecond pipe sections second portions 221, 222 are respectively provided withterminal bases terminal base 521 and electrically connected to the first electrical conductor, and a male terminal 5221 retained in theterminal base 522 and electrically connected to the second electrical conductor. When thefirst pipe section 11 is connected with thesecond pipe section 12, the male terminal 5221 electrically contacts the female terminal, and the first portion 221 and thesecond portion 222 are fastened together via bolts. In addition, a dust-proof cover 223 covers theterminal bases member 102 is provided between the first and thesecond pipe section -
Figs. 11 and 12 show a third embodiment of the flue pipe assembly. In present embodiment, theelectrical conductor 41 includes only one electrical wire, and the pipe sections are made of metallic material to perform as the other electrical wire as disclosed in aforementioned embodiments. The fixed connection device includes at least two latchingmembers first pipe section 11 is connected to thesecond pipe section 12, the two latchingmembers second pipe sections members member 231 is located adjacent to theelectrical conductor 43, and it has a different design with respect to the other latchingmember 232. For example, the latching members have different structures, different size, or different colors. In this way, when connecting two pipe sections, the electrical conductors of the two pipe sections can be connected without mistakes. Similarly, a sealingmember 103 is provided between the first and thesecond pipe section -
Figs. 13 and 14 show a fourth embodiment of the flue pipe assembly. In this embodiment, the wall mounting mechanism includes a mountingflange 321 and a retaining device. The retaining device includes a restrictingmember 322 encircling theend pipe section 13, anadditional flange 323 having a central hole for being passed through by theend pipe section 13, and a circular wedge-shapedpiece 324. When the wall mounting mechanism is attached to thewall 90, the mountingflange 321 and the additional mountingflange 323 are located at opposite sides of thewall 90. The mountingflange 321 has one side opposite to thewall 90 abuts against the restrictingmember 322, and the additional mountingflange 323 has one side opposite to thewall 90 is abut against by the wedge-shapedpiece 324. By this means, theend pipe section 13 can be secured to thewall 90 reliably. Similar to the first embodiment, aswitch 62 and a sealingmember 325 are disposed between the mountingflange 321 and thewall 90. -

The retaining device includes two restrictingdevices 332 and a circular wedge-shapedpiece 333. Each restrictingdevice 332 includes anfirst arm 3321 and ansecond arm 3322 forming an angle therebetween, and an torsion springs 3323 engaged with the first and thesecond arms second arms torsion spring 3323. Besides, thefirst arm 3321 is shorter than thesecond arm 3322. In this embodiment, theswitch 63 is provided on theend pipe section 13 and engageable with thefirst arm 3321. - Refer to
Fig. 16A , under the action of thetorsion spring 3323, thefirst arm 3321 and thesecond arm 3322 each has a distal end lift up above theend pipe section 13 in a natural state. Refer toFig. 16B , when theend pipe section 13 extends through thewall 90, thesecond arm 3322 is pressed by the wall and return to its natural state after lost of interference with the wall. As shown inFig. 16C , the mountingflange 331 and the wedge-shapedpiece 333 are disposed at one side of thewall 90 opposite to the other side where the restrictingdevice 332 positions. Refer back toFig. 15 , when the wall mounting mechanism is mounted to the wall, the mountingflange 331 is abut against by the wedge-shapedpiece 333 at its one side, and the mountingflange 331 abuts against thewall 90 at its the other side. At the opposite side of thewall 90, thesecond arm 3322 is forced to abut against the wall, and thesecond arm 3321 pressed the switch to activate it on. Similarly, a sealingmember 334 is disposed between the mountingflange 331 and thewall 90. - It would be apparent to those skilled in the art that, the heat exchanger can be set with more sections of fins corresponding to more combustion stages of a burner. In addition, the heat exchanger can also be used in a gas boiler or other gas water heating appliance.
