  • the maximum number of consecutive null acknowledgments allowed by the hosting device 110 may be different between different hosting devices 110 and may require some adjustments in the portable storage device 101 in order to comply with each of the hosting device 110.
  • a smartcard emulation unit such as the smartcard emulation unit 201 may be a subscriber authentication unit adaptor as described in the PCT Publication WO2012140654 , Methods and Systems for Routing Authentication and/or Identification Data of a Cellular Subscriber.
  • the subscriber authentication unit adaptor as discussed in WO2012140654 may perform as a SIM emulation unit which may be installed in an identification card socket, such as a SIM socket and communicate with the hosting cellular device over an interface compliant, for example, with the ISO/IEC 7816 specification.
  • the SIM emulation unit may be implemented through a portable storage device such as the portable storage device 101.
  • FIG. 7 is a schematic illustration of an exemplary system for acquiring identification and/or authentication data of a subscriber to register a cellular communication device to a visiting network which employs remote update of a portable storage device, according to some embodiments of the present invention.
  • a system 700 describes a hosting cellular communication device 701 traveling away from the associated subscriber's home public mobile network (HPMN) coverage and roams into a visited network 730.

Claims (11)

  1. Verfahren zur Emulation einer Teilnehmer-Identitätsmodul (SIM) Karte, das Verfahren umfassend:
    Bereitstellen einer tragbaren Speichervorrichtung (101) umfassend eine Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304), eine Update Schnittstellen-Komponente (301) und eine Speicher-Komponente (302) konfiguriert zum Speichern von Daten;
    Bereitstellen einer Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) umfassend einen Identitäts-Karten-Socket (105); die tragbare Speichervorrichtung und die Hosting-Vorrichtung werden miteinander verbunden;
    die tragbare Speichervorrichtung (101) wird in dem Identitäts-Karten-Socket (105) der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) installiert;
    Senden durch die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) einer Datenanfrage an die tragbare Speichervorrichtung (101);
    Bereitstellen mindestens eines ersten Teils der angefragten Daten verfügbar in der Speicher-Komponente (302) an die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) durch die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304);
    Verlängern der Kommunikation mit der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) durch Bestätigen von Befehlen durch die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) ausgegeben mit mindestens einem fortlaufenden kein Betriebsvorgangs-Byte;
    Updaten der Speicher-Komponente (130) mit mindestens einem zweiten Teil der angefragten Daten nicht verfügbar in der Speicher-Komponente (130) durch eine Update-Vorrichtung (120) verbunden mit der Update Schnittstellen-Komponente (301) der tragbaren Speichervorrichtung (101); und
    Bereitstellen der aktualisierten Daten an die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) durch die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304).
  2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) der ISO/IEC 7816 Spezifikation entspricht.
  3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem die mindestens ein fortlaufendes kein Betriebsvorgangs-Byte Bestätigung verwendet wird durch eine Null Antwort wie spezifiziert in ISO/IEC 7816 Spezifikation.
  4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, weiter umfassend Anpassung der Betriebsfrequenz der Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) auf geringe Arbeitsfrequenz durch Kodierung entsprechend eines Taktraten Konversions Integer, eines Baud-Raten Anpassungs Integer und einer maximal unterstützten Frequenz in einer Antwort auf Zurücksetzen (ATR) Antwort an die Hosting-Vorrichtung.
  5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, weiter umfassend Einstellen einer Wartezeit (WT) über die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) auf hohen WT Wert durch Kodierung entsprechend eines Wartezeit Integer (WI) in einer Antwort auf Zurücksetzen (ATR) Antwort an die Hosting-Vorrichtung.
  6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem die Anzahl der Wiederholungen der Bestätigungen des kein Betriebsvorgangs-Byte auf die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) beschränkt ist auf die maximale Anzahl von Null Antworten erlaubt durch die Hosting-Vorrichtung.
  7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, weiter umfassend Einführen maximaler Verzögerungszeit zwischen fortlaufenden Daten-Übertragungen über die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304), wenn an die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) geantwortet wird.
  8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, weiter umfassend Befähigen von mindestens zwei tragbaren Speicher-Vorrichtungen (101) zum Anschließen der Hosting-Vorrichtung wobei jederzeit nur eine der mindestens zwei tragbaren Speicher-Vorrichtungen (101) mit der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) kommuniziert.
  9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, weiter umfassend vor dem Bereitstellen mindestens eines Teils des ersten Teils der verfügbaren Daten, Verlängern der Kommunikation mit der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) durch Bestätigen von Befehlen durch die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) ausgegeben mit mindestens einem fortlaufenden kein Betriebsvorgangs-Byte;
  10. Tragbare Speicher-Vorrichtung (101) konfiguriert zur Emulation einer Teilnehmer-Identitätsmodul (SIM) Karte oder universellen Teilnehmer-Identitätsmodul (USIM) Karte, die Tragbare Speicher-Vorrichtung (101) umfassend:
    eine Speicher-Vorrichtung (302) konfiguriert um Daten zu speichern;
    eine Update Schnittstellen-Komponente (301) konfiguriert zur Verbindung mit einer Update-Vorrichtung (120) und zum Empfangen von Daten angefragt von einer Hosting-Vorrichtung (110); die angefragten Daten konfiguriert zum Speichern in der Speicher-Vorrichtung (302);
    eine Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) konfiguriert zur Verbindung mit einem Identitäts-Karten-Socket (105) der Speicher-Vorrichtung (110) und zur Kommunikation mit der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) zum Bereitstellen an die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) von mindestens einem ersten Teil der angefragten Daten verfügbar in der Speicher-Vorrichtung (302);
    wobei ein zweiter Teil der angefragten Daten nicht in der Speicher-Vorrichtung (302) verfügbar ist; und
    eine Steuer-Komponente (303) konfiguriert zur Steuerung der Speicher-Vorrichtung (302), der Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) und der Update Schnittstellen-Komponente (301);
    die Steuer-Komponente (303) konfiguriert zur Steuerung der Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) zur Verlängerung der Kommunikation mit der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) durch Bestätigen der Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) mit mindestens einem fortlaufenden kein Betriebsvorgangs-Byte um das Update des zweiten Teils der angefragten Daten in der Speicher-Vorrichtung (302) zu ermöglichen;
    wobei die aktualisierten Daten an die Hosting-Vorrichtung (110) bereitgestellt sind durch die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304).
  11. Tragbare Speicher-Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 10, bei welcher die Identitäts-Karten Schnittstellen-Komponente (304) der ISO/IEC 7816 Spezifikation entspricht.
