Description

The invention relates to a sheet of cardboard or plastic for folding a closable tray, in the sense of a box, for providing food. Furthermore, the invention relates to a tray, made up of a corresponding sheet.
The term "tray" is to be understood in the broadest sense, in particular in the sense of a box or a container for providing food. In the simplest case, it may be a container for receiving food. Trays are off EP 0 268 427 and WO 03/076280 known. For example, reference is made to passenger transport by aircraft. In particular, in long-haul flights meals are provided with the aid of appropriate trays, wherein on the trays, usually in loose form, various containers are arranged with components of a menu. These are in part reusable parts, for example with respect to the saucer and individual bowls, and otherwise disposable items to be disposed of after use. The total cost of the tray including the packaging are relatively high and handling is usually cumbersome.
The present invention is therefore based on the object to offer a way to inexpensively provide food "on the move", the entire material is to serve for single use.
The above object is solved by the features of claim 1, namely by a sheet of cardboard or plastic, which serves for folding a closable tray, preferably in the sense of a box.
For the bow according to the invention is essential that it is made in one piece, namely to the effect that it regularly consists of a stamped part. Any imprints on the respective surfaces are possible.
The sheet according to the invention comprises a receiving area for at least one container, on the free side of which a connecting tab adjoins.

On the side facing away from the connecting tab of the receiving area is followed by a first web, whose depth, possibly together with the depth of the connecting tab, the height of the folded tray, i. of the tablet in the assembled state, pretends. In other words, the connecting tab forms the lateral wall of the tray and thus defines the available height for insertion of food-containing containers.

The arch further includes a self-contained floor area adjacent to the first land. This floor area is in the assembled state, i. arranged by corresponding folding, parallel under the receiving area, according to the configuration of the connecting tab to the receiving area spaced. A second bridge connects directly to the floor area. Its depth, together with the first web and, if appropriate, with the connecting lug, predetermine the height of the folded tray. Accordingly, the two webs - first web and second web - are the front and rear wall of the tray.

The second bridge is followed by a lid area, which can cover the receiving area in the folded state of the tray. By pivoting the lid portion of the receiving area and the containers disposed therein are releasable or coverable or closable.

Furthermore, the closure region is adjoined by a closure flap for securing to the surface of the first web. After inserting the container or containers, the entire assembly can be closed by the lid area, namely the fact that the closure tab is arbitrarily set on the surface of the first web.

As already stated above, the receiving area can be designed for inserting a container or a plurality of containers. Depending on the size, for example, two or three recesses may be provided for setting / inserting corresponding containers. It is also conceivable that an elongated recess is provided for inserting an elongated container for cutlery. The same applies to the provision of small recesses for small containers, for example, to provide salt, pepper, sugar, etc.

To favor the folding of the sheet, ie to promote the confection of the tray, it is advantageous if between the individual areas embossments, folds, perforations or perforations are formed to define folding edges. As a result, the tray can be cut at the defined locations and easily assembled. Folded is only in one direction, namely due to the particular order and arrangement / design of the individual areas.
It is further advantageous if the receiving area and the lid area have substantially the same area. It is in any case to ensure that the lid portion covers the receiving area, so that the containers located in the receiving area are securely held and protected by the overlap.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the bottom area is at least slightly narrower than the receiving area and the lid area. Finally, the floor area should at least be designed so large that the containers used in the receiving area are altogether on the floor area or are covered by the floor area.

The two webs and the locking tab and possibly the connecting tab have substantially the same area, whereby the production is favored again.
For easy assembly, it is advantageous if provided from the outset confectioning. These may be adhesive surfaces, which are either covered with a peelable film after their application to the respective surfaces or are applied to the respective surfaces shortly before the assembly, without protection. Thus, the connecting tab and the first web can be provided with adhesive surfaces, namely for fixing the back of the locking tab on the first web.
In principle, it is conceivable that the sheets are first produced and delivered, with or without imprinting, the packaging taking place at a later time. This is space saving.

With appropriate handling, it is necessary that the adhesive surfaces are covered with a protective film. For finishing, the protective film is peeled off and the folding process takes place in accordance with the arrangement of the individual regions along the respective fold. Before the actual folding, the protective films should be removed anyway.

The locking tab may be designed so that it is pulled off to open the tray from the opposite adhesive surface. It is also conceivable that the closure flap comprises an opening tear-off strip which is provided in a region of the closure flap which, in the assembled state of the tray, makes no contact with the adhesive surface of the first bar of the opposing surface, i. the first footbridge has. Accordingly, the tray can be opened by tearing off the tear strip, without the bond being removed. At the same time a kind of fresh crucible is created to ensure the consumer that so far no opening of the tray has taken place.

As already mentioned, the sheet is made of cardboard or plastic. The use of cardboard is particularly inexpensive, namely the use of a cardboard box, similar to the packaging of praline, etc. It is again advantageous if the sheet has a moisture-repellent surface, so even when exposed to moisture, condensation, etc. the attractiveness and the required dimensional stability is maintained.

The tray according to the invention solves the above object by the features of the independent claim 10. It is essential that the tray is made up and folded from a sheet according to one of claims 1 to 9. The tray comprises in addition to the actual body, made of the sheet according to the invention, at least one container which has an edge and is dimensioned and designed such that it fits into the recess of the receiving area and comes to rest with the edge on the surface of the receiving area or at least slightly above the surface of the receiving area sits.

As already stated to the bow according to the invention, different numbers and different sized or shaped recesses may be provided in the receiving area, namely for receiving a variety of containers that serve to provide food, spices, cutlery, etc. Thus, the tray according to the invention can be used in the simplest case with a container therein, for example, to provide a fresh sandwich, or with multiple containers, to provide a sophisticated menu.

The serving as inlay container may be made of plastic or aluminum. In the filled state, the container is closed, preferably with a transparent film on the edge top. The film can be welded or glued to the container. Any connection techniques are feasible, the connection is to be understood here as well in the sense of a freshness seal.

Finally, it should be particularly noted that the tray can be used to provide packaged food, especially in passenger transport on buses, trains and in airplanes. The tray is made from the sheet according to the invention and can accommodate containers with any content in itself. After use, the tray including the containers can be disposed of as a whole, whereby a separation of the actual tray and the containers is possible for sorted disposal.

At the bottom portion 4, a second web 5 connects, the depth of which defines the height of the folded tray together with the first web 3 and optionally with the connector tab 2. The two webs 3 and 5 thus define the rear and front walls of the tray, while the tray is open to the side, namely in the absence of lateral webs of the bottom portion 4. Thus, the construction is simple and requires little material.

At the second web 5, a lid portion 6 connects, which can cover the receiving area 1 in the folded state of the tray. By pivoting the cover area 6, the receiving area 1 can be closed or released.

At the lid portion 6, a locking tab 7 closes. This is used for fixing on the surface of the first web 3, so that a secure closure of the tray by covering the receiving area 1 by means of lid portion 6 is possible.
FIG. 1 further shows the formation of two recesses 8, 9, for receiving two in FIG. 1 not shown containers is used, namely for putting in or inserting the containers. According to the size of the tray, a plurality of recesses may be provided with different contours. FIG. 1 further shows that between the different areas folding edges 10 are provided, which facilitate the folding of the individual areas, tabs and webs. For the design of the folded edges 10 reference is made to avoid repetition of the general part of the description.
For manufacturing a tray according to the invention from the sheet according to the invention, it is necessary that individual areas or tabs are glued together. For this purpose, it is advantageous if adhesive surfaces 11, 12 are provided. It should be noted that the arrangement of the adhesive surface is chosen in the embodiment discussed here so that the adhesive surface 11 or 12 from one side, in this case from the top, on the sheet or the corresponding area can be applied. It is also conceivable that the adhesive surface 11 or 12 is assigned to the respective opposite part, namely on the respective back. Any arrangements and configurations of the adhesive surfaces 11 or 12 are conceivable.
In the embodiment chosen here, the connecting tab 2 and the first web 3 are provided with adhesive surfaces 11, 12, namely for fixing the back of the second web 5 to the connector tab 2 and for fixing the back of the locking tab 7 on the first web 3. Once again It should be noted that the adhesive surfaces 11 or 12 may also be assigned to the respectively opposite sides, so for example the back of the second web 5 and the back of the closure flap 7. The specific arrangement according to the independent claim 7 is merely exemplary.

Finally shows FIG. 1 clear that the closure tab 7 has a tear strip 13, which is made by perforation, perforation or the like. By tearing the tear strip 13, the ready-made and glued tray can be opened.

FIG. 2 shows in the upper part of a ready-made, open tray 14, where there according to the illustration in FIG. 1 two recesses 8, 9 are provided.

Before the "empty" tray 14 are two containers 15, 16, which serve for insertion into the two recesses 8, 9, according to their arrangement.

In FIG. 2 is indicated that the two containers 15, 16 are closed by a transparent film 17, wherein the film 17 is adhesively connected to the edge 18 of the respective container 15, 16.

With regard to further advantageous embodiments of the teaching of the invention, reference is made to avoid repetition to the general part of the specification and to the appended claims.

Finally, it should be expressly understood that the above-described embodiment of the teaching of the invention is only for the purpose of discussion of the claimed teaching, but does not limit the embodiment.
