- b. Überwachung des Vorhandenseins eines Fadens sowie der Bewegung eines Fadens in allen einer Strickstelle zugeordneten Fadenleitrohren mithilfe von in den Fadenleitrohren angeordneten Sensoreinrichtungen;
- c. Auswerten der Signale der Sensoreinrichtungen aller einer Strickstelle zugeordneten Fadenleitrohre mithilfe einer Überwachungseinrichtung;
- d. Auslösen eines Maschinenstoppsignals, sofern die Überwachungseinrichtung in einem der Fadenleitrohre keinen Faden und/oder in keinem der Fadenleitrohre einen bewegten Faden detektiert.

Die Sensoreinrichtung 13 überwacht, ob sich im Fadenleitrohr 10 ein Faden befindet, ob sich der Faden bewegt und ob der Faden gegebenenfalls eine Verdickung aufweist. Jedem der Ringelfournisseure 12 sind dabei so viele Fadenleitrohre 10 mit Sensoreinrichtungen 13 zugeordnet wie ein dem Fournisseur 13 nachgeschalteter Ringelapparat 14 an Fäden verarbeiten kann. Der Ringelapparat 14 führt dann jeweils einen der Fäden der Fadenleitrohre 10 einer oder mehreren Strickstelle/n 15 einer Rundstrickmaschine zu. Dabei können auch mehr als ein Ringelapparat 14 einer Strickstelle 15 zugeordnet sein, um die Anzahl der möglichen Farben zu erhöhen. In jedem Fall werden die Sensoreinrichtungen 13 aller einer Strickstelle 15 zugeordneten Fadenleitrohre 10 von einer hier nicht näher dargestellten Überwachungseinrichtung gemeinsam ausgewertet.
