Abstract

The present invention relates to a cooker (1) comprising a cooktop (2), more than one burner (3) that provides the flames to reach the container wherein the cooking process is performed, and at least two grills (4, 5), a first grill (4) and a second grill (5), that are placed onto the cooktop (2) so as to surround the burner (3).

Description

    A COOKER
  • The present invention relates to a cooker whereon a safe cooking process is provided.
  • In cookers, grills that are preferably produced from cast iron and situated on the cooktop are used whereon containers such as pot, pan, etc. are placed. During cooking while the food inside the container placed on the grill is stirred, the container should not move on the grill. In the cookers having the cooktops with slippery surfaces such as glass or ceramic, the grill sliding over the cooktop cause problems.
  • In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US6470879, a cooking apparatus is described, comprising more than one foot holder that is formed on the burner panel, providing the grill to remain in a fixed position on the burner panel by holding the feet of the grill.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooker cooking the grill the movement on the cooktop of which is limited during the cooking process.
  • The cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises more than one burner fixed onto the cooktop and at least two grills, a first grill and a second grill, that are seated onto the cooktop so as to surround the burner. The cooker comprises at least one protrusion such as tongue, on the first grill, extending outwards from the first grill and furthermore comprises at least one housing arranged on the second grill and wherein the matching protrusion is seated. The protrusion is seated into the housing by being slid into the housing with the movement of the first grill. Thus, the grills are enabled to be easily positioned and fixed one to the other by the user. The grills are enabled to remain stationary by being prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, when the grill is placed onto the cooktop, the open mouth of the housing that allows the protrusion to be seated therein faces the cooktop. When the grill is viewed from above, the housing and the protrusion are not visible. Thus, the esthetic appearance of the cooker is improved.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooker comprises more than arm that extends over the burner of the second grill so as to form a surface whereon the containers such as pot, pan, etc. placed thereon are seated, a support member that extends from the arm towards the outside of the second grill and a recess arranged on the first grill and wherein the support member is seated when the first grill and the second grill are placed side by side. The first grill and the second grill are joined as a result of grouping the support member and the recess.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the width of the housing is almost equal to the width of the protrusion. Thus, when the first grill and the second grill are joined, the protrusion is enabled to be firmly seated into the housing.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the depth of the housing is almost equal to the length of the protrusion. Consequently, the grills are enabled to be placed onto the cooktop in a balanced manner with their movements in the vertical plane being limited.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing is triangular. In this embodiment, the protrusion is also triangular, matching the form of the housing. Thus, the housing almost completely surrounds the protrusion.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion is produced as a single piece together with the first grill.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion is produced separately from the first grill and mounted onto the first grill.
  • By means of the present invention, the grills are enabled to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop. The grills are prevented from moving in the horizontal and vertical planes and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
  • A cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

  • Figure 4 – is the rear perspective view of the grill.

  • The cooker (1) comprises a cooktop (2), more than one burner (3) that provides the flames to reach the container wherein the cooking process is performed, and at least two grills (4, 5), a first grill (4) and a second grill (5), that are placed onto the cooktop (2) so as to surround the burner (3). The cooker (1) furthermore comprises at least one protrusion (6) situated on the first grill (4) and at least one housing (7) arranged on the second grill (5), wherein the protrusion (6) is seated when the first grill (4) and the second grill (5) are placed side by side. When the housing (7) is seated onto the protrusion (6), the grills (4, 5) are prevented from moving in the horizontal direction. The form of the housing (7) matches with the form of the protrusion (6) and the protrusion (6) is aligned with the housing (7) to be seated into the housing (7). The inner walls of the housing (7) bear against the outer surface of the protrusion (6). Thus, the grills (4, 5) are provided to remain stationary on the cooktop (2). Especially during the cooking process, the grill (4, 5) movements originating from shocks and vibrations are prevented. By preventing the grills (4, 5) from sliding on the cooktop (2), safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided. In case the glass or ceramic cooktop (2) is broken, the grills (4, 5) support each other and do not slide, thus the risk of the cooking container overturning is decreased.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, when the second grill (5) is placed onto the cooktop (2), the inner wall of the housing (7) faces the cooktop (2). Thus, by preventing the protrusion (6) from being seen, a more esthetic appearance is obtained.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooker (1) comprises more than one arm (8) that extends over the burner (3) of the second grill (5) so as to form a surface whereon the containers such as pot, pan, etc. placed thereon are seated, a support member (9) that extends from the arm (8) towards the outside of the second grill (5) and a recess (10) arranged on the first grill (4) and wherein the support member (9) is seated when the first grill (4) and the second grill (5) are placed side by side. When the support member (9) is fitted over the recess (10), the grills (4, 5) are prevented from moving in the horizontal direction. Thus, the grills (4, 5) support each other and remain in a rigid manner on the cooktop (2).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the width of the protrusion (6) is almost equal to the width of the housing (7). When the first grill (4) and the second grill (5) are placed side by side, the housing (7) firmly surrounds the protrusion (6) from the outer surface thereof. Thus, the grills (4, 5) are provided to be durably seated onto the cooktop (2).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the depth of the housing (7) is almost equal to the height of the protrusion (6). Thus, the grills (4, 5) are enabled to be placed onto the cooktop (2) in a balanced manner by providing the housing (7) to be entirely seated onto the protrusion (6).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the housing (7) is triangular. In this embodiment, the protrusion (6) is also triangular. Thus, the protrusion (6) is seated into the housing (7) in a matching manner.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion (6) is produced as a single piece together with the first grill (4). Thus, the production of the protrusion (6) is facilitated.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion (6) is produced separately from the first grill (4) and mounted onto the first grill (4). The protrusion (6) can be fixed to the first grill (4) with methods such as welding, adhesion, etc.
  • By means of the present invention, the grills (4, 5) are prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop (2). The grills (4, 5) are enabled to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop (2) and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.

Claims (8)

  1. A cooker (1) comprising a cooktop (2), more than one burner (3) that provides the flames to reach the container wherein the cooking process is performed, and at least two grills (4, 5), a first grill (4) and a second grill (5), that are placed onto the cooktop (2) so as to surround the burner (3), characterized by at least one protrusion (6) situated on the first grill (4) and at least one housing (7) arranged on the second grill (5), wherein the protrusion (6) is seated when the first grill (4) and the second grill (5) are placed side by side..
  2. A cooker (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the housing (7) the inner wall of which faces the cooktop (2) when the second grill (5) is placed onto the cooktop (2).
  3. A cooker (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by more than arm (8) that extends over the burner (3) of the second grill (5) so as to form a surface whereon the containers such as pot, pan, etc. placed thereon are seated, a support member (9) that extends from the arm (8) towards the outside of the second grill (5) and a recess (10) arranged on the first grill (4) and wherein the support member (9) is seated when the first grill (4) and the second grill (5) are placed side by side.
  4. A cooker (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the housing (7), of which the width is almost equal to the width of the protrusion (6).
  5. A cooker (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the housing (7), of which the depth is almost equal to the height of the protrusion (6).
  6. A cooker (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the triangular housing (7).
  7. A cooker (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the protrusion (6) that is produced as a single piece with the first grill (4).
  8. A cooker (1) as in any one of the Claims 1 to 6, characterized by the protrusion (6) that is produced separately from the first grill (4) and that is mounted to the first grill (4).
