Description

Technisches Gebiet der ErfindungTechnical field of the invention

The invention relates to a survival aid, in particular for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts, with an inflatable float according to the preamble of claim 1.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

A generic survival aid is through the DE 20 2012 007 334 U1 known. The survival aid described therein consists inter alia of an inflatable float, a compressed gas cartridge coupled to the inflatable float body via a coupling member, and a pocket having a flap into which the float is folded in its deflated state. The bag has two walls (referred to as front and back wall), which with their upper edges over the opening of the bag. In operational idle state, the opening is closed by the flap.

In the initial state, the gas path from the compressed gas cartridge is blocked inside the float. However, the coupling member has a release mechanism with an actuating element. When this actuating element (for example a lever) is actuated, the release mechanism releases the gas path (usually by destroying the cap of the compressed gas cartridge). To actuate the actuating element by the user is a ripcord whose first end is connected to the actuating element.

This results in a very lightweight and compact survival aid, which is worn by the user by means of a kind of belt around the waist. In an emergency, for example, when the swimmer gets a cramp, he pulls on the ripcord and the float unfolds due to the filling with compressed gas without further action out of the opening of the bag, so that a float is available, at which the user, for example the swimmer can hold on. This can easily bridge the time until the swimmer has recovered or help hastened. The generic survival aid works very well and has proven itself in practice.

Gegenstand der ErfindungSubject of the invention

Based on this prior art, the invention has the object to improve a generic survival aid to the effect that it is even better secured against unintentional opening of the bag and / or inadvertent actuation of the actuating element. Such an improved fuse can be particularly advantageous when the survival aid is used in surfing, surfing or kitesurfing.

This object is achieved by a survival aid having the features of claim 1.

The basic structure of the survival aid is like in the DE 20 2012 007 334 U1 so that its disclosure content is hereby explicitly referred to. According to extend from the upper edges of the first and the second wall of the bag (in the generic DE 20 2012 007 334 U1 called front wall and rear wall) eyelets, through which extends at rest a Sicherungssplint. A tension element connected to the actuating element of the coupling element extends to this safety pin and is coupled to it in a tension-resistant manner, preferably substantially in the middle of the safety pin. By axially pulling the split pin from the eyelets a serial actuation process is set in motion: First, the split pin is pulled out of all eyelets, creating a Release of the opening or, if an additional flap is provided, which is to be preferred, a "pre-open state" of the bag is achieved. Only when the split pin is completely pulled out of the eyelets, the tension element can come under tension so that the actuator is actuated by a further pull on the split pin. While it is still as easy to use as the survival aid of the prior art (it only takes a single linear pull), inadvertent opening of the bag or inadvertent actuation is virtually eliminated.

Beschreibung bevorzugter AusführungsformenDescription of preferred embodiments

Diese Verbindungsleine hat vorzugsweise eine Länge von ca. 60 cm.The FIG. 1 shows all components of the described preferred embodiment of the survival aid. This survival aid consists essentially of three parts, namely a floating body 10, to which a compressed gas cartridge 20 can be coupled, from a pocket 30 and a securing pin 70. Floating body 10 and pocket 30 are connected to one another by means of a connecting line 62. This connecting line preferably has a length of about 60 cm.

It is first discussed the float:
  • The float is elongated, that is, its length in the y-direction is greater than its width in the x-direction. The dimensions are (including edges) preferably as follows: length about 70 cm, width about 20 cm, so that the inflated float encloses a volume of about 9 liters. The float may consist of a foil-like material or of tissue. Firmly and tightly connected to the floating body is the coupling member 12, in which said compressed gas cartridge 20 can be screwed (in FIG. 1 the screwed state is shown). As Druckgaspatrone can in particular a commercial small CO 2 -Druckgaspatrone, as used for example in home beer dispensers serve. At rest, the cap of the Co 2 -ruckgaspatrone is closed, so that the gas path between the Co 2 -Druckgaspatrone 20 and the interior of the float 10 is blocked. There is a pull cord 26 is provided, which upon application of a corresponding tensile stress, an actuating element, which is a lever 14 in the embodiment shown, pivots, whereby this a mandrel in the coupling member 12 actuated, which pierces the cap of the Co 2 -Druckgaspatrone 20 and thus destroyed. This technique is well known in the field of lifejackets and need not be explained in detail here. For accommodation in the pocket 30 described later, the float 10 is preferably accordion-folded in the Y direction.

In the embodiment shown, the pull cord 26 forming the tension element is an end section of a cord which extends at first through a first bore 70a, which is located substantially in the middle of the securing pin 70. From this first bore 70a, the cord extends through further holes (in the embodiment shown two pieces 70b, 70c) and is present at one end of the Sicherungssplints in loops, which carry a handle member 72. The loops of the cord, which carry the handle member, form a pliable connection 74, which connect the Sicherungssplint 70 with the handle member 72. The provision of such a limp connection 74 is very advantageous because a rigid protruding handle element could be easily damaged on the one hand and on the other hand would constitute a risk of injury. The cord can be held with additional means, such as a heat shrink tubing, on Sicherungssplint, but this is not shown for clarity. Although it is preferable that pull cord 26 and flexible connection 74 are each sections of a common cord, but it is not mandatory. In the grip element 72 may be arranged a signaling device in the form of a battery-powered light and / or in the form of a whistle (not shown).

The bag 30 will now be described:
  • The pocket has four sections, namely a first (rear) wall 32, a second (front) wall 34, a flap 44, and a substantially V-shaped connecting element 42. The first wall 32, second wall 34, and flap 44 may be basically formed be made a blank. However, it is also possible to use a separate blank for each section and to connect these blanks together, in particular to sew together. First wall 32 and second wall 34 enclose a receiving space and are in this case along a bottom 36 and along a side, which is referred to here as the second side 40, directly connected to each other. Furthermore, first and second walls are connected to one another via a first side 38. This first side 38 is formed by the already mentioned connecting element 42, which is connected to the first wall 32 and the second wall 34. It is thus formed an opening O, which extends from the first side 38 to the second side 40 and the bottom 36 opposite. The flap 44 extends from the upper edge of the first wall 32. On the connecting element 42, a push button 50 and a back button 52 is attached, in such a way that their effective areas in the in FIG. 1 shown state, ie, when the connecting element 42 is folded outward, facing outward. Push button 50 and back button 52 are in this case each near the top edge of the first wall 32 and the second wall 34. Im in FIG. 1 Thus shown state is a folded, enlarged first side 38 and an opening O with an opening angle of more than 0 ° before. If the connecting element 42 is folded inwards (ie in the direction of the arrow) and pressure and counter-pressure button are connected to each other, the first page is almost reduced to a line, corresponding to the second side 40. On the inside of the second wall 34 is a Velcro element (not dargstellt) and on the outside of the flap 44 a Gegenklettelement 46 is attached. On the outside of the first wall 32, a fastening strap 60 is held. At the front ends of this strap 60 are a buckle and a mating buckle (not shown), in particular of plastic, as they are commonly used for example in backpacks. Thus, the bag can be worn with the help of the belt, especially around the waist.

From the upper edges of the two walls 32, 34, that is, the edges which are adjacent to the opening O, respectively eyelets extend, the eyelets extending from the first wall 32, as first eyelets 33a to 33c and the eyelets, which extending from the second wall 34, are referred to as second eyelets 35a and 35b. In the exemplary embodiment shown, three eyelets extend from the first wall 32 and two eyelets from the second wall 34. Basically, it is necessary that at least one eyelet and the wall of a wall another wall at least two eyelets, with an odd number of eyelets is preferred. In the illustrated embodiment, the first (rear) wall is the wall, which carries more eyelets than the other wall (here, the second, front wall) but this could be exactly the opposite. As will be discussed later in particular with reference to the FIGS. 3 to 8 will see, the eyelets are arranged offset so that they are in the pivoting of the eyelets in a row, so form a kind of "zipper". That is, every other eyelet then lies between two first eyelets, that the middle first eyelet (the eyelet 33b) lies between the two second eyelets, and that the marginal first eyelets 33a and 33c are adjacent to a second eyelet respectively. All eyelets are designed as re-sewn fabric strips, so as loops.

The transfer of the in FIG. 1 shown state in the in FIG. 6 The state of use (also referred to as idle state) in which the coupling member 12 is in its initial state is as follows: The non-inflated float 10 is rolled or preferably folded in the y direction and then into the interior of the pocket 30, ie between the front wall 32 and rear wall 34 introduced. Depending on the specific geometric configuration, a second convolution in the x direction may also be necessary here. Now, the connecting member 42 is folded inwardly and push button 50 and back button 52 are attached to each other, so that the first side 38 is in a state of shallow depth. Then the flap is inserted ( Fig. 4 ), so that it is between the package of the floating body and the second wall, so that the Velcro element and Gegenklettelement come into engagement ( Fig. 5 ). The latter two steps can also be carried out in reverse order. Finally, the safety pin 70 is inserted through the eyelets until the in FIG. 6 shown state is present. Due to the fact that the pull cord 26 is connected in the center of the split pin with this, the pull cord is pulled into the eyelets, so that it is not accessible from the outside and in particular can not get stuck anywhere. The length of the pull cord is dimensioned so that it is fully retracted when inserting the Sicherungssplints 70, however only after complete removal of the Sicherungssplints from all eyes under tension can come. This geometry can be used very well FIGS. 7 and 8 remove.

Upon actuation of the survival aid, the securing pin 70 is pulled out of the eyes by means of the grip element 72 in a linear pulling movement. At the end of this pulling movement, the traction cable comes under tension and actuates the lever 14 (FIG. FIG. 8 ). If the Zuschnur 26 (ie, the tension element) as shown, connected substantially in the middle of the Sicherungssplintes with this, this has the advantage that a minimal actuation path can be realized. At the time the pull cord 26 is tensioned, the outside of the flap 44 is still connected to the inside of the second wall 34 due to the hook and loop connection, preventing the float from being pulled out of the pocket 30 before the actuator of the coupling member (ie, the lever 14) was actuated by the pull cord. Thus, the flap 44 not only has an additional protective function, but also plays an important role in the triggering process. To realize the detachable connection between the flap and the second wall by means of a hook-and-loop fastener is a preferred possibility, but the use of another closure means which opens with a defined force would also be possible. As an example, here's a push-button pair called.

When deployed, the float opens the Velcro connection between the flap and second wall 34 and the connection formed by the push button and back button of the first page 38, which then unfolds and thus increases the opening angle of the opening, as shown in the DE 20 2012 007 334 U1 is described. As a result, the longitudinal section of the bag takes the form of an oblique trapezium, that is, the bag widens up and the float can unfold unhindered upwards. The now inflating float 10 then exits completely from the bag, but is held by the connecting line 62 to this and thus to the person who wears the bag, so that it has the float 10 directly available.
