According to the invention, the plug of the contact system of the aforementioned type has a plug housing. The plug housing has a plug collar. Furthermore, the contact system has a locking element, wherein the locking element is designed to be pushed along a translation axis on the plug collar and to secure the plug against detachment from the mating connector. The mating connector preferably has at least one projection region extending with at least one directional component or in the direction of the flat extension of the connector collar, which is arranged and configured to at least partially surround or engage behind the locking element and hold it against the connector collar.

By means of the thus formed locking element, the plug can be advantageously locked with the mating connector. The lock can be additionally secured, for example by means of a sealing wire, so that unauthorized opening of the contact system can be easily detected from the outside.
In a preferred embodiment, the locking element is designed to press the plug collar against the mating connector or resiliently. For this purpose, the locking element may be designed, for example, wedge-shaped along a planar extension, so that a pressing action can be generated by being supported against the projecting area during insertion and locking. The locking element may, for example, for resilient pressing have a curved leaf spring, which is designed and arranged to resiliently support the sliding of the locking element on the plug collar against the at least one projection region. Thereby, the plug can be securely connected to the mating connector and the contacts are relieved of acting on the contact system vibrations.

The projecting area is formed for example by an angled rail, which is connected to the mating connector and forms a parallel to the plug collar, the plug collar opposite leg forms the projecting area. Preferably, the leg and the plug collar are arranged overlapping each other, so that the plug can be pulled off transversely to an extension of the projecting area. The locking element has, for example, a sheet metal strip extending along a longitudinal axis, which rests on the plug collar in a position locking the plug with a transverse section extending transversely to the longitudinal axis and engages with a transverse section adjacent thereto into a groove formed by the leg and thus the plug collar on the leg supporting can secure against removal of the plug. According to the invention, the mating connector has at least one locking pin and the locking element has an opening. The locking pin is designed to be guided by the opening of the locking element. As a result, the plug collar can be pressed evenly against the mating connector. In a preferred embodiment, the locking element has a spring area, preferably a leaf spring, forming a survey area. The elevation area is designed to support resiliently against the projection area and to press or press the locking element against the plug collar. Preferably, the elevation region is formed trapezoidal or arcuate. Thus, the locking element can advantageously form a pressure spring, as well as a locking element for securing the contact system, in particular the plug connection between the plug and the mating connector.
In a preferred embodiment, at least part of the opening in the locking element is formed as a slot. The slot preferably has an insertion opening for insertion of an end portion of the locking pin. Preferably, the insertion opening is arranged in the region of one end of the oblong hole along the longitudinal extension of the elongated hole or arranged at a predetermined distance from one end of the oblong hole.
The insertion opening preferably forms an end section or partial section of the oblong hole. Thus, the locking element can advantageously be inserted with the insertion opening on the locking pin, so that the locking pin protrudes with an end portion through the insertion opening. If then the locking element along a sliding path, pushed along a longitudinal extent of the slot, the end portion of the locking pin is moved in the slot and can embrace the aforementioned breakthrough edge of the slot.
Preferably, the locking pin has a groove, wherein the breakthrough edge surrounding the slot in the groove - in particular according to a rail - is guided back and forth. Thus, advantageously, a secure guidance and positioning of the locking element may be formed, wherein the aforementioned breakthrough edge can be guided in the groove of the locking pin and the locking pin can be guided in the slot along a longitudinal extent of the slot. According to the invention, the locking element is U-shaped in a flat extension. More preferably, the U-shaped locking element on two U-legs. Each U leg of the locking element preferably has at least one opening for guiding the locking pin. Thus, the plug, in particular a plug housing of the plug, are advantageously encompassed by the locking element when sliding the locking element, wherein two mutually opposite sides of the plug collar, which enclose a part of the plug housing between each other, by means of the locking element during a Eineschobenwerdens the locking element together against the mating connector can be pressed.
In a preferred embodiment, the locking element has at least one resiliently formed latching lug. The locking lug is designed to engage along a sliding path of the locking element along the translational axis in a recess and to lock the locking element in a sliding position locking the connector. Preferably, the recess in the mating connector, in particular a housing of the mating connector is formed.
By means of the locking lug can be advantageously prevented unintentional release of the locking element along the sliding path. The locking lug is preferably designed and arranged to engage transversely to the aforementioned translation axis and thus transversely to the sliding path into the recess and thus to secure the locking element in a form-fitting manner against a movement back along the sliding path. To release the locking element, the locking lug can be pushed out of the recess or lifted out and the locking element can be pushed back until the plug collar is released, so that the plug can be pulled off the mating connector.
In a preferred embodiment, the locking element is connected to the connector housing and mounted along the sliding path along the translation axis, pushed back and forth. Thus, the locking element can advantageously not be lost or fall down after opening. Further advantageous so few items for assembling the contact system are required.
In a preferred embodiment, the locking element and the mating connector each have an opening for a sealing wire for securing the locking element. Thus, the locking element can be advantageously secured the plug in a sliding system locking the contact position with the mating connector by means of the sealing wire against opening from the locking sliding position.
The invention also relates to a method for locking an electrical connector comprising a plug and a mating connector, wherein the plug is plugged onto the mating connector and a locking element is pushed onto a sliding collar of the plug for locking the plug, wherein an edge in particular breakthrough edge of the locking element of a projection region of the mating connector is gripped or engaged behind, so that the projecting portion presses the locking element against the plug collar and thus secures the plug with the mating connector against loosening.
