Jeder Querbahnetikettierer 4 weist ein in Figur 3 näher dargestelltes Wegmesssystem 13 auf. Der Abstand A in Figur 2 und 3 ist der Abstand zwischen den zwei Querbahnetikettierern 4 zueinander. In der gezeigten Variante ist der Antrieb 12 ein Schrittmotor und die Regelelektronik 22 ein Schrittmotorregler. Ebenso ist als Antrieb 12 ein Servomotor und als Energieversorgung/Regelelektronik 22 ein Servoregler denkbar.
