Description
- The present invention relates to a compressor comprising a cylinder head, that is used in cooling devices.
- In the hermetic compressors used in domestic type refrigerators, the refrigerant reaches the cylinder by passing through the muffler and suction chamber of the cylinder head. At the end of the compression process, the refrigerant with increased pressure and temperature is discharged into the exhaust chamber of the cylinder head after leaving the cylinder. The refrigerant compressed in the cylinder and delivered to the exhaust chamber increases the temperature at the interior of the suction chamber. The increased temperature in the exhaust chamber causes the temperature of the suction chamber to increase as well. Accordingly, the compressor efficiency and performance are adversely affected.
- In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US20050226740, a compressor is disclosed, having an isolation chamber that is positioned between the suction chamber and the discharge chamber and that prevents heat transfer by providing isolation between the suction chamber and the discharge chamber.
- In the state of the art European Patent Document No. EP1458976, a compressor is disclosed, having an intermediate volume with air consisted therein, that is situated between the suction chamber and the discharge chamber and that prevents heat transfer between the suction chamber and the discharge chamber.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of a compressor having a cylinder head wherein heat transfer between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber is reduced.
- The compressor, realized in order to attain the aims of the present invention and explicated in the attached claims, comprises a casing carrying the components therein, a cylinder wherein the compression process is performed, a cylinder head disposed on the cylinder, at least one exhaust chamber below the cylinder head wherein the pumped circulating fluid fills and at least one suction chamber wherein the sucked circulating fluid fills. The exhaust chamber and the suction chamber are disposed side by side below the cylinder head.
- The compressor of the present invention comprises at least one compartment that is situated below the cylinder head, that provides a gap at least partially between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber and that is emptied by being vacuumed. By means of the compartment, the temperature of the suction chamber is prevented from increasing due to the increased exhaust chamber temperature. The insulation efficiency of the compartment that is emptied by being vacuumed is increased.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the compressor comprises at least one wall that is situated between the opposite surfaces of the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber. The compartment remains between the wall and the side of the suction chamber facing inside the cylinder head. Thus, heat transfer between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber is prevented.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the wall extends longitudinally inside the cylinder head, between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber and completely surrounds the portion of the suction chamber remaining inside the cylinder head. By means of the compartment, insulation is provided between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber, thus preventing heat transfer between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the compressor comprises at least one opening arranged on the outer wall of the compartment that does not face the suction chamber and/or the exhaust chamber, and furthermore at least one cover that enables the front of the opening to be opened/closed. During vacuum process, the cover opens due to pressure and air, refrigerant, etc. in the compartment are discharged. By means of the cover closing after the vacuum operation is completed, the interior of the compartment is provided to be in a vacuumed state.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover opens only towards the outside of the cylinder head. Thus, during refrigerant flow, the refrigerant is prevented from entering the compartment from outside the cylinder head, thus maintaining the vacuumed state of the compartment.
- By means of the present invention, a compressor is realized wherein heat transfer is prevented between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber. Insulation is provided by means of the vacuumed compartment situated between the suction chamber and the exhaust chamber. The efficiency of the compressor is increased.

- The compressor (1) comprises a casing (2) carrying the components therein, a cylinder (3) wherein the compression process is performed, a cylinder head (4) disposed on the cylinder (3), at least one exhaust chamber (5) wherein the pumped circulating fluid fills, disposed below the cylinder head (4) and at least one suction chamber (6) wherein the sucked circulating fluid fills (Figure 1).
- The compressor (1) of the present invention comprises at least one vacuum insulated compartment (7) situated on the cylinder head (4), between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5). During the production of the compressor (1), the interior of the compressor (1) is vacuumed in order to dehumidify. Meanwhile, the interior of the compartment (7) is also vacuumed. The insulation efficiency of the vacuumed compartment (7) is increased (Figure 2).
- The temperature of the refrigerant compressed inside the cylinder (3) increases during the operation of the compressor (1). The refrigerant leaving the cylinder (3) passes into the exhaust chamber (5). The temperatures of the interiors of the cylinder (3) containing compressed refrigerant and of the exhaust chamber (5) increase. The suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5) are situated adjacent to each other below the cylinder head (4). By means of the compartment (7), a distance remains at least partially between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5). By providing insulation between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5), the increasing temperature of the exhaust chamber (5) is prevented from being transferred to the suction chamber (6). Thus, the temperature of the interior of the suction chamber (6) is prevented from increasing, thus improving the efficiency of the compressor (1).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the compressor (1) comprises at least one wall (8) that divides the inner volume of the cylinder head (4) into two separating the compartment (7) and the exhaust chamber (5) from each other and that is situated between the opposite surfaces of the cylinder head (4). The compartment (7) is situated between the suction chamber (6) and the wall (8) and almost completely surrounds the part of the suction chamber (6) remaining inside the cylinder head (4). By means of the compartment (7) situated between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5), heat transfer is prevented between the exhaust chamber (5) and the suction chamber (6) (Figure 2, Figure 4, Figure 6).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the wall (8) longitudinally extends inside the cylinder head (4), between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5). The wall (8) divides the inner volume of the cylinder head (4) into two and thus forms the compartment (7) that provides insulation inside the cylinder head (4), between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5) (Figure 2, Figure 4, Figure 6).

By means of the cover (10) closed after the interior of the compartment (7) is vacuumed, refrigerant, etc. is prevented from entering into the compartment (7), thus the vacuumed state of the interior of the compartment (7) is maintained (Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5, Figure 6).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover (10) opens/closes unidirectionally. Thus, the cover (10) is prevented from opening due to the increasing pressure during the operation of the compressor (1). While the compressor (1) is being vacuumed, the cover (10) opens and the air inside the compartment (7) is provided to be discharged. Since the cover (10) opens only towards outside the compartment (7), the refrigerant is prevented from entering into the compartment (7) during the operation of the compressor (1).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the wall (8) is at least partially S-shaped. By means of the shape of the wall (8), the refrigerant inside the exhaust chamber (5) is provided to be guided in its flow direction (Figure 2, Figure 4, Figure 6).
- By means of the present invention, heat transfer between the suction chamber (6) and the exhaust chamber (5) during the passage of the refrigerant between the cylinder (3) and the suction chamber (6) or the exhaust chamber (5) is minimized, thus the efficiency of the compressor (1) is improved.
