From the WO 2008/071362 A1 is a generic heat exchanger, for example in the manner of a radiator, known, comprising a block for the separate and heat exchange guidance of the two fluids, which has a number of first fluid flowed through flat tubes with a narrow pipe side and a pipe broadside. The flat tubes terminate each longitudinal end in a bottom of a box, the flat tubes are guided through corresponding through holes in the ground in the box. Each of the through holes in the bottom has a the corresponding flat tube bordering and erected edge, the edge broadsides are usually higher than the edges of narrow sides and merge into one another via a corresponding inclination.

A disadvantage of the known heat exchanger, however, that arise due to the high temperature differences stresses in the range of inclination between the edge broad side and the narrow side edge at the bottom of the heat exchanger, which adversely affect the life of the heat exchanger.

The present invention therefore deals with the problem of providing a heat exchanger of the generic type an improved embodiment, which is characterized in particular by a longer service life.

This problem is solved according to the invention by the subject matter of the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.

The present invention is based on the general idea, in the region of an inclination, over which a broad side edge merges into a lower edge narrow side, to provide a particular rounded recess whose height is smaller than that of the narrow edge side, whereby the stresses in the corners of the flat tubes, the are bordered by the respective edge of the passage opening, reduced by about 14% and the life can be increased by about 50%. In general, the heat exchanger according to the invention is constructed as follows: It has a block for the separate and heat exchanging guidance of a first and a second fluid, said block having a number of first fluid flowed through flat tubes with a narrow pipe side and a pipe broadside. The flat tubes are introduced via corresponding through holes in a bottom in a box and fluidly connected thereto. Each of these through holes has an associated edge of the associated flat tube and erected, wherein the marginal broad sides of this edge are higher than the narrow edges and merge into one another via a corresponding inclination. According to the invention, the recess is now provided in the region of this inclination, in particular in a corner region, whose height is less than that of the edge narrow side and which leads to the voltage reduction described above. In addition, a contact surface edge of a contact surface between the edge and the flat tube in the region of the recess has a lower height than in the region of the edge narrow side. This contributes significantly to reduce the stresses occurring in the corner region of the flat tube. The provision of this recess has led in a surprising manner to a significant decrease in the voltage and thus to a significant increase in the life of the heat exchanger.

Appropriately, the height of the particular rounded recess corresponds to about half the height of the edge broadside. By varying the heights of the recesses, it could be stated that the reduction in the tension in the corners of the flat tubes was greatest when the height of the recess corresponded to approximately half the height of the edge broadside. The variation of the height was carried out after the surprising finding of the effect of the recess according to the invention. The recess can show both a roundish, angular and a tapered geometry.

The height of the edge broadside may for example be about 7 mm, in which case the height of the recess is about 3.5 mm. This information is particularly conceivable for common heat exchangers, as used for example as coolers in motor vehicles.

Other important features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims, from the drawings and from the associated figure description with reference to the drawings.

It is understood that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the particular combination given, but also in other combinations or in isolation, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

According to the FIG. 1 , A heat exchanger 1 according to the invention for heat exchange between a first and a second fluid, for example for heat exchange between air and coolant, a block 2 for the separate and heat exchanging guidance of the two fluids, a number of the first fluid flowed through flat tubes 3 with a narrow side pipe 4 and a pipe broadside 5 has. The flat tubes 3 are via corresponding passage openings 6 (compare also the FIGS. 2 and 3 ) guided in a bottom 7 in a box 8 and thereby fluidly connected thereto. Each of the passage openings 6 has an associated edge tube 9 enclosing and erected edge 9, the edge broad sides 10 are higher than the narrow edges 11 and pass over a corresponding inclination 12 into each other (see in particular FIG. 3 ). According to the invention a rounded recess 13 is now provided in the region of this slope 12, the height h 1 is less than the height h 2 of the narrow edge 11 and of course less than the height h 3 of the edge broadside 10. By the rounded recess 13, a voltage in a bordered by the edge 9 flat tube 3 clearly, for example, by 14%, can be reduced, whereby the life of the heat exchanger 1 can be increased by almost 50%.

The height h 1 of the rounded-out recess 13 preferably corresponds to approximately half the height h 3 of the edge broadside, so that, for example, at a height h 3 of approximately 7 mm, the height h 1 of the recess 13 is approximately 3.5 mm. As in particular the detailed representations in the FIGS. 2 and 3 can be seen, the recess 13 is located directly on the edge narrow side 11 and then goes over the slope 12 in the edge broadside 10 via.

In this case, however, protection should not only be desired exclusively for the heat exchanger 1 according to the invention, but additionally also for the bottom 7, as this one single segment, for example in the FIGS. 2 and 3 is shown. From such individual segments thus an almost arbitrarily long bottom 7 can be assembled. Such a bottom 7, that is, such a bottom element 7 ', has a passage opening 6 with a surrounding raised edge 9, wherein the edge broad sides 10 are higher than the narrow edges 11 and pass over a corresponding inclination 12 into each other. Each of the bottom elements 7 'has in the region of the slope 12 the previously mentioned rounded recess 13, the height h 1 is less than the height h 2 of the narrow edge side. Altogether, four recesses 13 on the peripheral edge 9 are provided per floor element 7 'or per floor 7. The bottom 7 or the associated bottom element 7 'may be formed, for example, as a sheet metal part.

With the recess 13 according to the invention, it is possible to significantly reduce the voltage acting on the flat tubes 3, in particular, and thus significantly increase the service life of the heat exchanger 1.

Die Höhe h4 des Kontaktflächenrandes 14 im Bereich der Randschmalseite 11', entspricht somit der Höhe h5 des Kontaktflächenrandes 14' im Bereich der Ausnehmung 13'.Looking at the Fig. 4a and 4b , so there is a heat exchanger 1 'according to the prior art, for example according to the DE 10 2011 075 071 A1 , shown in which on the edge narrow side 11 'of the edge 9' is bent outwards. This results in that a contact surface edge 14 'between the edge 9' and the flat tube 3 'on the narrow side 11' at the same height h, as in the area of the rounded recess 13 ', as shown in FIG Fig. 4b is shown. The contact surface edge 14 'is drawn here interrupted and represents an edge of a contact surface 16' between the edge 9 'and the flat tube 3'. The height h 4 of the contact surface edge 14 in the region of the narrow edge 11 ', thus corresponds to the height h 5 of the contact surface edge 14 'in the region of the recess 13'.

In the heat exchanger 1 according to the invention after the Fig. 1 to 3 and 5 on the other hand, the contact surface edge 14 in the region of the recess 13 likewise has a fillet 15 analogous to this, which contributes substantially to reducing the stresses occurring in the corner region of the flat tube 3. This is very vivid in Fig. 5b , but also in Fig. 5a shown. It can be clearly seen that the contact surface edge 14 extends in the region of the recess 13 below the contact surface edge 14 in the region of the edge narrow side 11.

The contact surface 16 is correspondingly excluded in the region of the recess 13. The contact surface edge 14 thus has a smaller height h 5 in the region of the recess 13 than in the region of the narrow edge 11, that is, the height h 4 of the contact surface edge 14 in the region of the narrow edge 11 is greater than in the region of the recess thirteenth

Gleiches gilt auch für die Höhe h5 des Kontaktflächenrandes 14 im Bereich der Ausnehmung 13.The height h 4 of the contact surface edge 14 is also smaller in the region of the edge narrow side 11 than the height h 3 of the edge 9 in the region of the edge broadside 10. The same applies to the height h 5 of the contact surface edge 14 in the region of the recess 13th

To further relieve the flat tube 3, the edge 9 in the corner region, that is, in the region of the recess 13 have a reduced wall thickness.
