Definitions
- the present invention relates to a packaging machine, a packaging method and a computer program product for patient-specific blistering.
- pharmaceuticals or dietary supplements in solid dosage form in variable amount, shape and size in a common packaging, so-called blister pack, patient-specific and in portions are packaged.
- the patient receives a prescribed medication by the doctor with individual dosage, labeling and coding for a specific day and time.
- EP2656829A1 relates to a tablet dispenser that allows easy cleaning of the inner surfaces of temporary storage structures.
- a concurrent drive mechanism and a plurality of open-close mechanisms of a plurality of temporary memory structures are coupled together by a plurality of coupling structures.
- the coupling structures are each arranged to release the coupling when the entire cache structure or a portion including the open-close mechanism of the cache structure is pulled out of a housing and to establish the coupling when the entire cache structure or the portion comprising the open-close mechanism is pushed into the housing of the cache structure.
- US 5,671,592 A describes a medicine packaging apparatus containing medicine storage shelves for storing a large number of medicine containers having medicine contained therein, and a comparatively small number of medicine delivery devices used on each of the large number of medicine containers for supplying medicine in an amount according to a prescription.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to provide an improved tablet packaging machine, an improved tablet packaging method and an improved computer program product which avoid or at least reduce the risk of cross-contamination. This object is achieved by the present invention.
- a first embodiment of the invention relates to a packaging machine for packaging medicaments in solid dosage form for patient-specific blistering, according to claim 1.
- the filling point may be located approximately at the bottom of a dosing tray from which, for example, tablets are emptied into a receptacle.
- a receptacle may for example be a blister bag, wherein the blister bag is made from a packaging film.
- the blister bag is closed after filling, for example, welded.
- the packaging film is shaped such that it assumes, for example, a funnel shape. in this respect is here spoken of a funnel, it is merely meant a form that ensures the correct emptying of the dosing tray so that a failure of the packaging film is avoided when opening the bottom of the dosing tray.
- the invention thus avoids or reduces the occurrence of cross-contamination, since the tablets pass directly from the dosing tray into the packaging film.
- the invention also reduces errors in the selection and dosage of drugs as well as failures in drug intake.
- the first embodiment has the folding unit on a first beak and a second beak for folding the packaging film. By using such beaks wrinkling of the packaging film can be avoided. This is achieved by forming a center fold of the packaging film during closing slowly. In this way, discarding or arbitrary folding or wrinkling of the packaging film is avoided.
- the first and second beaks are each arranged at an angle to the direction of travel of the packaging film provided by the film transport unit.
- the first and second beaks are arranged relative to each other such that they are arranged to guide the packaging film.
- the first and second beaks are arranged relative to each other such that they are arranged to fold the packaging film towards the filling point.
- a funnel-like design of the packaging film is achieved.
- the packaging film accordingly has a wide opening, whereas the opening of the packaging film becomes narrower for folding. For a facilitated filling of the packaging film is achieved and incorrect emptying of the dosing tray can be avoided.
- the first and second beaks are movably mounted.
- the formation of the packaging film can be further supported and arbitrary folding is avoided.
- the first and the second beak are arranged such that, at a first time before closing the packaging film, they have an opening angle of 1 ° to 90 °, preferably 5 ° to 60 °, more preferably 10 ° to 45 °, more preferably form substantially 30 °. This ensures that the folding of the packaging film is gentle. Thus, wrinkles or warping of the packaging film can be avoided.
- the vertex of the opening angle of the first and second beak of the fold line of the packaging film is opposite. This arrangement of the beaks ensures that the packaging film is first closed at the upper end of the V-shaped opening and only at the last moment at the lower end. There is thus no discarding or arbitrary folding or wrinkling of the packaging film along the center fold.
- the first and the second beak are arranged such that they form an opening angle of substantially 0 ° at a second time before closing the packaging film, the second time being after the first time. This ensures that the beaks cause the folding of the packaging film gently, since the opening angle between the beaks is reduced before the packaging film is sealed. Thus, wrinkles or warping of the packaging film can be avoided.
- the closing unit has a welding unit for welding the packaging film in the form of a blister bag.
- a welding unit for welding the packaging film in the form of a blister bag.
- the welding unit is at an angle of substantially 90 ° to the intended running direction of the packaging film.
- the welding unit is set up to form a welding line arranged essentially at right angles to the running direction of the packaging film.
- the welding unit has a plurality of welding jaws.
- the first and the second beak are arranged such that they are carried by the plurality of welding jaws.
- the entrainment of the beaks on the welding jaws ensures that the closing process is coupled with the folding process in such a way that wrinkling of the film can be avoided. Because the entrained beaks lead and fold the packaging film before it is then welded by the welding jaws.
- the first beak is preferably carried by a first welding jaw and the second beak by a second welding jaw.
- the closing unit is set up to close the packaging film along a closing line.
- the folding unit is arranged to fold the film along a folding line.
- the packaging film, the closure line and the fold line together form a funnel, the funnel facing the filling point.
- the packaging machine further comprises a dosing tray, wherein the dosing tray and the filling point are movable relative to each other. It is thereby achieved that, for example, a pharmacist or caregiver can prepare the medication in the dosage tray for a certain period of time (e.g., for one week) before the dosage tray is then placed in the packaging machine for filling the blister bags.
- the dosing tray and the filling point are movable relative to each other in a substantially horizontally oriented plane.
- the respective compartment of the dosing tray can be moved above the filling point.
- the underside of the compartment can be opened to empty stored therein tablets in a below the filling point blister bag.
- the filling point is stationary and the Dosiertablett relative to the filling point, preferably in a substantially horizontally oriented plane, movable.
- the dosing tray further comprises an identifier, preferably an RFID transponder and / or a barcode, wherein the identifier is set up to store patient-specific information.
- the packaging film or the blister bag also has an identifier.
- the packaging machine has an identifier check unit which compares the identifier of dosing tray and packaging film with each other and outputs a match signal based on the result of the comparison. In this way, for example, the operation of the packaging machine can be stopped if the identifiers do not match. A faulty filling of blisters is thus avoided.
- the packaging machine further comprises a printing unit for printing the packaging film with patient-specific information.
- patient-specific information is, for example, the name of the patient and the period of taking or similar metadata useful to the patient. More preferably, these data are encrypted in a machine-readable code. In this way, for example, the recording of the intake times in an electronic calendar can be simplified.
- a second embodiment of the invention relates to a packaging method for packaging medicaments in a solid administration form for patient-individual blistering according to claim 11.
- a third embodiment of the invention relates to a computer program product which is set up to cause a packaging machine according to the invention to carry out the packaging method according to the invention.
- the packaging machine of claim 1, the packaging method of claim 11 and the computer program product of claim 12 have similar and / or identical preferred embodiments.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention may also be a combination of the dependent claims or the above-mentioned embodiments with the corresponding independent claim.
- finished medicinal products are usually repackaged in blister bags. All medicines given at a time of administration are typically blistered in a pouch. If the blister bag becomes too full, two or more bags can be used for a single administration.
- a packaging machine for patient-specific blistering comprises, for example, an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server, a presentation module and a packaging module.
- FTP File Transfer Protocol
- the FTP server collects the patient data and the recipe and controls the data for the presentation and packaging module. These data are transmitted via the network to the pre-module and the packaging module. This happens, for example, by providing a shared drive, access the Vorstellmodul and packaging module.
- the data format is XML, for example.
- the presentation module preferably comprises a control unit, for example a computer. The control unit controls packaging orders and gives instructions to the user (for example, graphic instructions) during order processing.
- a dosing tray or tray (see Fig. 1 to 5 ) be equipped by the user with various drugs in solid dosage form.
- the control unit of the Vorstellmoduls gives the user instructions for sorting the drugs in the dosing tray compartments. These instructions can be done on a screen by way of graphical representation and on the respective dispenser tray by optical LED lighting.
- the dosing tray preferably has an RFID chip (see Fig. 1 ), whereby the concrete packaging order can be assigned to the respective dosing tray.
- Some or all of the metadata can be transmitted to the packaging module after completion of the sorting via a network connection.
- the invention uses a new mode of operation in the packaging module in order to avoid cross-contamination.
- a second (mechanical) part of the blistering process begins by placing the drug-filled dosing tray in the packaging module.
- An optional RFID chip clearly identifies the dosing tray and the packaging order, and the packaging process can begin.
- a stepper motor drive provides two-coordinate navigation of the dosing tray in the XY direction.
- two fixed motors are installed, which move the dosing tray by turning in the same direction or in opposite directions by means of, for example, a toothed belt system via pulleys in the x- or ⁇ -direction and thus lead to a filling point.
- the filling point is optionally configured stationary.
- the bottom of a compartment is opened, for example with the aid of an optional lever below the dosing tray (see Fig. 5 ).
- the bottom of a dosing tray compartment consists for example of a special spring steel. From the individual compartments of the dosing tray then successively fall the drug in each blister bag.
- the blister bags are individually printed with patient data, medication, time of administration and drug information.
- the drug to be packaged enters the packaging directly and without any contact from machine parts or funnels.
- This is made possible by the skillful folding of the packaging film in combination with a step-wise welding technique of the film to individual bags (see Figures 7-9 ).
- the packaging film is folded in a funnel shape at a preferably fixed location below the individual compartments of the dosing tray and thus replaces funnels or other machine parts [see Fig. 7 ). There is thus no possibility of undesirable cross-contamination within the packaging machine according to the invention.
- the packaging film reaches its funnel shape through the use of two beaks (see Fig. 6-9 ), which support the lateral alignment of the film. After the medicines have entered the blister bag, the beaks help to tighten the foil and allow a smooth and wrinkle-free sealing of the individual bags (see Fig. 7-9 ). Contamination of the contents of the package is therefore also not possible later.
- Fig. 1 shows by way of example and by way of example a metering tray 100 with optional identifier 110.
- Identifier 110 may be, for example, an RFID chip.
- Fig. 1 At the top left, a view of the dosage tray 100 is shown from above. The large illustration shows a view of the dosing tray 100 from below. In particular, the trays 105 of the dosing tray compartments can be seen.
- Floor 105 is made of spring steel, for example, but any other elastic material is suitable, provided that it meets the hygiene requirements for patient-specific blinding.
- Fig. 2 shows by way of example and by way of example a plan view of dosing tray 100.

Description
The present invention relates to a packaging machine, a packaging method and a computer program product for patient-specific blistering. Thus, pharmaceuticals or dietary supplements in solid dosage form (tablets, capsules, dragees) in variable amount, shape and size in a common packaging, so-called blister pack, patient-specific and in portions are packaged. The patient receives a prescribed medication by the doctor with individual dosage, labeling and coding for a specific day and time.
Typically, in known tablet packaging machines, different drugs are directed during the packaging process via a common contact with machine parts and a common feed into the package. Drug delivery may result in abrasion, dusts and, in the worst case, chipping or breakage of individual tablet fragments. There is a risk of cross-contamination, which should be avoided when pharmaceutical drugs are bleached. In such a packaging process, therefore, traces of a drug can reach the same position of the machine part or the funnel surface, as before with another medicine. Abrasion, dust or chipped tablet fragments can interact with each other, whereby a drug can be inhibited or accelerated (inhibited / catalyzed) by another drug.
It is desirable to avoid the above-described disadvantages of known tablet packaging machines. The object of the present invention is therefore to provide an improved tablet packaging machine, an improved tablet packaging method and an improved computer program product which avoid or at least reduce the risk of cross-contamination. This object is achieved by the present invention.
A first embodiment of the invention relates to a packaging machine for packaging medicaments in solid dosage form for patient-specific blistering, according to claim 1.
The filling point may be located approximately at the bottom of a dosing tray from which, for example, tablets are emptied into a receptacle. Such a receptacle may for example be a blister bag, wherein the blister bag is made from a packaging film. The blister bag is closed after filling, for example, welded. By using the folding unit is achieved that the packaging film is shaped such that it assumes, for example, a funnel shape. in this respect is here spoken of a funnel, it is merely meant a form that ensures the correct emptying of the dosing tray so that a failure of the packaging film is avoided when opening the bottom of the dosing tray. This can be achieved, for example, by a mold which is wide near the dosing tray and becomes narrow towards the kink or fold line. After emptying the dosage form to be packaged (eg tablets) in the shaped packaging film, the packaging film is sealed. Against this background, the use of additional funnel-shaped machine parts as a filling aid is not required. The invention thus avoids or reduces the occurrence of cross-contamination, since the tablets pass directly from the dosing tray into the packaging film. The invention also reduces errors in the selection and dosage of drugs as well as failures in drug intake. The first embodiment has the folding unit on a first beak and a second beak for folding the packaging film. By using such beaks wrinkling of the packaging film can be avoided. This is achieved by forming a center fold of the packaging film during closing slowly. In this way, discarding or arbitrary folding or wrinkling of the packaging film is avoided.
According to the first embodiment, the first and second beaks are each arranged at an angle to the direction of travel of the packaging film provided by the film transport unit. According to a further preferred embodiment, the first and second beaks are arranged relative to each other such that they are arranged to guide the packaging film. Thus, it is achieved with this preferred embodiment that the beaks on the one hand shaping on the other hand lead acting. This can be dispensed with further guide elements and the entire packaging machine can be produced more compact and cheaper.
According to a preferred embodiment, the first and second beaks are arranged relative to each other such that they are arranged to fold the packaging film towards the filling point. By folding to the filling point out a funnel-like design of the packaging film is achieved. In the vicinity of the filling point, the packaging film accordingly has a wide opening, whereas the opening of the packaging film becomes narrower for folding. For a facilitated filling of the packaging film is achieved and incorrect emptying of the dosing tray can be avoided.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the first and second beaks are movably mounted. By a movable storage of the beaks, the formation of the packaging film can be further supported and arbitrary folding is avoided.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the first and the second beak are arranged such that, at a first time before closing the packaging film, they have an opening angle of 1 ° to 90 °, preferably 5 ° to 60 °, more preferably 10 ° to 45 °, more preferably form substantially 30 °. This ensures that the folding of the packaging film is gentle. Thus, wrinkles or warping of the packaging film can be avoided.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the vertex of the opening angle of the first and second beak of the fold line of the packaging film is opposite. This arrangement of the beaks ensures that the packaging film is first closed at the upper end of the V-shaped opening and only at the last moment at the lower end. There is thus no discarding or arbitrary folding or wrinkling of the packaging film along the center fold.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the first and the second beak are arranged such that they form an opening angle of substantially 0 ° at a second time before closing the packaging film, the second time being after the first time. This ensures that the beaks cause the folding of the packaging film gently, since the opening angle between the beaks is reduced before the packaging film is sealed. Thus, wrinkles or warping of the packaging film can be avoided.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the closing unit has a welding unit for welding the packaging film in the form of a blister bag. By welding the packaging film a hygienic sealing of the packaging film is achieved in a blister bag.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the welding unit is at an angle of substantially 90 ° to the intended running direction of the packaging film. The welding unit is set up to form a welding line arranged essentially at right angles to the running direction of the packaging film. In this way, the preferred embodiment allows the formation of rectangular Blisterbeuteln whose bottom edge corresponds to the weld line, and whose one side edge corresponds to the folding or folding line of the packaging film.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the welding unit has a plurality of welding jaws. In this case, the first and the second beak are arranged such that they are carried by the plurality of welding jaws. The entrainment of the beaks on the welding jaws ensures that the closing process is coupled with the folding process in such a way that wrinkling of the film can be avoided. Because the entrained beaks lead and fold the packaging film before it is then welded by the welding jaws. In this case, the first beak is preferably carried by a first welding jaw and the second beak by a second welding jaw.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the closing unit is set up to close the packaging film along a closing line. The folding unit is arranged to fold the film along a folding line. The packaging film, the closure line and the fold line together form a funnel, the funnel facing the filling point. By means of the aforementioned shaping and arrangement of the folded packaging film, the filling process on the one hand is facilitated because a failure of the packaging film when opening the metering tray underside is avoided. On the other hand, according to the preferred embodiment can be dispensed with the use of funnels or the like, which are additionally arranged in known packaging machines between dosing tray and blister. By eliminating conventional funnels, the risk of cross-contamination is significantly reduced.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the packaging machine further comprises a dosing tray, wherein the dosing tray and the filling point are movable relative to each other. It is thereby achieved that, for example, a pharmacist or caregiver can prepare the medication in the dosage tray for a certain period of time (e.g., for one week) before the dosage tray is then placed in the packaging machine for filling the blister bags.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the dosing tray and the filling point are movable relative to each other in a substantially horizontally oriented plane. By this configuration it is achieved that the respective compartment of the dosing tray can be moved above the filling point. There, then, for example, the underside of the compartment can be opened to empty stored therein tablets in a below the filling point blister bag. According to a further preferred embodiment, the filling point is stationary and the Dosiertablett relative to the filling point, preferably in a substantially horizontally oriented plane, movable.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the dosing tray further comprises an identifier, preferably an RFID transponder and / or a barcode, wherein the identifier is set up to store patient-specific information. Providing the dosing tray with an identifier increases the reliability of the association between the medication and the blister bag. Preferably, the packaging film or the blister bag also has an identifier. Further preferably, the packaging machine has an identifier check unit which compares the identifier of dosing tray and packaging film with each other and outputs a match signal based on the result of the comparison. In this way, for example, the operation of the packaging machine can be stopped if the identifiers do not match. A faulty filling of blisters is thus avoided.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the packaging machine further comprises a printing unit for printing the packaging film with patient-specific information. The patient-specific information is, for example, the name of the patient and the period of taking or similar metadata useful to the patient. More preferably, these data are encrypted in a machine-readable code. In this way, for example, the recording of the intake times in an electronic calendar can be simplified.

In the field of patient-specific blistering, finished medicinal products are usually repackaged in blister bags. All medicines given at a time of administration are typically blistered in a pouch. If the blister bag becomes too full, two or more bags can be used for a single administration.
A packaging machine for patient-specific blistering comprises, for example, an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server, a presentation module and a packaging module. At a client computer data of the respective patient and the medically prescribed medication are entered. The FTP server collects the patient data and the recipe and controls the data for the presentation and packaging module. These data are transmitted via the network to the pre-module and the packaging module. This happens, for example, by providing a shared drive, access the Vorstellmodul and packaging module. The data format is XML, for example. The presentation module preferably comprises a control unit, for example a computer. The control unit controls packaging orders and gives instructions to the user (for example, graphic instructions) during order processing.
In a first (manual) part of the blister process, specific drug information (pharmaceutical central number, lot number, expiry date) is entered into the program. This is done by manual input and / or automatically with the help of a 2-D barcode or QR reader. The benefits of automatic data collection are error prevention, time savings and prevention of drug piracy. In this way, unique bag lot numbers are generated. While processing an order, a batch change is also possible. The exact determination of the batch is of great importance in the case of a batch recall of a drug.
