Claims (7)

  1. A device (1) for tensioning, holding and positioning a workpiece (2), where the workpiece (2) can be placed from above into a supporting prism (3) of the device (1), in order to tension the workpiece (2) in a certain desired position and to maintain it for further processing, characterised in that
    - the supporting prism (3) has at least one horizontal rotary shaft (5) on which at least two tensioning jaws (6) can be mounted behind one another for the workpiece (2) and can be displaced in opposite direction to one another,
    - each of the tensioning jaws (6) has preferably in the lower section a pressure surface (11) which is oriented towards a locking member (13) which is fixed to the supporting prism (3) and associated with the respective tensioning jaw (6), and
    - every locking member (13) is provided on its side facing the tensioning jaw (6) with a pressure section (14) which presses against the pressure face (11) of the tensioning jaw (6), when the locking member (13) is actuated mechanically, pneumatically, hydraulically or electromagnetically, in order to bring the tensioning jaws (6) against the workpiece (2) while respecting a certain clearance.
  2. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that the side of the locking member (13) facing tensioning jaw (6) has a bevel corresponding to the pressure face (11) of the tensioning jaw (6) or is for example conical or cylindrical in shape.
  3. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that the pressure face (11) of every tensioning jaw (6) is designed as a bevel or a substantially horizontal surface.
  4. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that every tensioning jaw (6) is designed substantially at an angle in terms of surface area whereas a leg (7) has a rising section (8) and the other leg (9) has a clamping section (10).
  5. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that the workpiece (2) is placed from above into the supporting prism (3) in such a way that the tensioning jaws (6) exert a pre-tensioning movement of the workpiece (2) purely due to the own weight of said workpiece.
  6. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that the tensioning jaws (6) finally clamp the workpiece (2) after the locking member has been actuated.
  7. The device according to claim 1, characterised in that a wear plate (4) is fixed to the lower side of the supporting prism (3).
