A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the plate (11) along its upper end has a folded-over web (12) or a profiled portion, wherein the at least one stiffening device (1) corresponds to the web (12) or the profiled portion, wherein preferably the at least one stiffening device (1) in the mounted position embraces the web (12) or the profile portion of the plate (11).
  5. A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) in the mounted position extends substantially over the entire height (13) of the plate (11).
  6. A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) has at least one - preferably two - folded-over web (2, 3), which in the mounted position of the at least one stiffening device (1) bears with its end face (4) against the plate (11).
  7. A rear wall according to claim 6 characterised in that the folded-over web (2, 3) extends vertically in the mounted position.
  8. A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) at its lower end has an opening (5), through which the stiffening device (1) can be fixed to the plate (11) - preferably by means of a screw.
  9. A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 8 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) in the mounted position has at least one tab (9) bendable in the direction of the plate (11), preferably with an opening (8) for introducing a tool (51) for bending the tab (6).
  10. A rear wall according to one of claims 1 to 9 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) in the mounted position has at least one embossing (7) facing in the direction of the plate (11).
  11. A drawer (50) having a rear wall (10) according to one of claims 1 to 10.
  12. A drawer according to claim 11 wherein the drawer (50) has a drawer bottom (52), characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) can be fixed - preferably by means of a screw - through the opening (5) in the at least one stiffening device (1) and through an opening (15) in the plate (11) at the drawer bottom (52).
  13. A drawer according to claim 11 or claim 12 wherein the drawer (50) has a front panel (53), characterised in that in the mounted position of the drawer (50) a height (54) of the front panel (53) is at least twice - preferably at least three times - as great as the height (13) of the plate (11).
  14. A drawer according to one of claims 11 to 13 characterised in that the at least one stiffening device (1) can be connected to the plate (11) at a side (16) of the plate (11) facing away from the front panel (53).
  15. An article of furniture (100) having at least one drawer (50) according to one of claims 11 to 14 and at least one rear wall (10) according to one of claims 1 to 10.
