Claims (8)

  1. Circular knitting machine with a circular knitting unit fitted with needles and an expander (10) arranged under the circular knitting unit for a tubular knit, which is formed by the circular knitting unit and is rotatably mounted on a central rod (20) arranged coaxially to the machine axis, characterised in that a pivoting bearing (22) is arranged on the central rod (20), that bearing allowing limited swivel movements of the expander (10) relative to the central rod (20) in such a manner that the expander (10) can evade the forces caused by the tubular knit by swivel movements relative to the central rod (20) and thereby release pressure from the central rod (20).
  2. Circular knitting machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the pivoting bearing (22) is a ball bearing.
  3. Circular knitting machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the pivoting bearing is an elastic pivoting bearing.
  4. Circular knitting machine according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the expander (10) is rotatably mounted on the central rod (20) by means of the pivoting bearing (22).
  5. Circular knitting machine according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the central rod (20) is divided into an upper and a lower section (20.2, 20.1) and the pivoting bearing (22) is arranged between the upper and the lower section (20.2, 20.1).
  6. Circular knitting machine according to claim 5, characterised in that a coupling arrangement (21) with the pivoting bearing is arranged between the two central rod sections (20.1, 20.2).
  7. Circular knitting machine according to claim 6, characterised in that the coupling arrangement (21) has a holding element (23) and a fastening element (25), which are connected to one another by spacer screws (24).
  8. Circular knitting machine according to claim 7, characterised in that the pivoting bearing (22) is arranged on the fastening element (25).
