Definitions
- the invention relates to an ambient light for airfield lighting comprising at least one luminous element for emitting light and at least one optical element associated with the luminous element for deflecting the light into a light exit main plane.
- Another light is from the US 2006/0050507 A1 known.
- a laterally emitting LED is used as a luminous element for the homogeneous illumination of a light exit main plane.
- a transparent cover of the luminaire is provided with an optic.
- a generic ambient light with a single light emitting diode is known as a light source.
- Light emitted by the light-emitting diode strikes an optical element and is deflected there in the direction of a light exit main plane of the light.
- the optical element is designed here as a reflector element.
- An optical axis of the light-emitting diode, which defines a main emission direction of the light emitted by the light-emitting diode, is oriented at 90 ° at an angle to the light exit main plane.
- the object of the invention is to provide an optically highly effective ambient light for airfield lighting, which ensures a homogeneous illumination with respect to a main light exit plane and is inexpensive and simple in construction.
- the invention in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1, characterized in that the optical element is formed in the manner of a refractive optical element having a light entrance surface for the light emitted by the light element and a light exit surface for coupling the light from the optical element and in that a main emission direction defined by an optical axis of the luminous element extends in a light exit main plane of the light deflected by the optic element.
- the particular advantage of the invention is that it dispenses with a 90 ° deflection of the light emitted by the luminous element through the optical element.
- a particularly homogeneous light distribution results in the light exit main plane.
- a good optical efficiency can be realized and the light distribution can be finely adjusted or adjusted by the use of the refractive optical element.
- the light entry surfaces of the optical element or the light exit surfaces of the optical element are shaped or positioned and the light element associated with the optical element such that light emitted by the light element and deflected by the optical element light in the light exit main plane a horizontal angle range of -95 ° to + 95 ° is homogeneously illuminated in relation to the main emission direction of the light and that light emitted by the luminous element and light deflected by the optical element homogeneously illuminates a vertical angle range of -1 ° to + 16 ° relative to the light exit main plane.
- the light exit main plane results in a large horizontal angle range, which comprises more than a half-plane and thus allows complete illumination of the light exit main plane with a very limited number of light elements. Also transversely to the light exit main plane of the functionally predetermined vertical angle range of -1 ° to + 16 ° is homogeneously illuminated. This results in a structurally simple, inexpensive lighting arrangement. In extreme cases, only two light elements with associated optical elements must be provided in order to illuminate the light exit main plane completely and in accordance with the legal requirements.
- the basic idea of the invention is in this case to form the optical element with the light entry surface and the light exit surface in such a way and to arrange it relative to the optical element such that light is deflected or coupled out to the front, laterally and partially also to the rear through the plane defined by the light elements.
- the optical element has a recess formed on the rear side facing the luminous element for receiving the luminous element.
- a lateral surface of the recess defines the light entry surface of the optical element.
- the light entry surface of the optical element may be designed to be flat or concave curved at least in sections.
- the light entry surface is formed from a plurality of partial surfaces, which rest against each other and are shaped according to the optical requirements.
- a first partial surface may, for example, be curved in a circular segment shape in cross section in the manner of a cylinder jacket partial surface.
- a second partial surface can be completely curved in the manner of a spherical lateral surface.
- a third partial circumferential surface may be formed approximately in the manner of a truncated cone lateral surface.
- a further partial surface of the light entry surface can be designed to be geometrically arbitrary, for example, in the manner of a free-form surface. It is also possible to form a partial surface of the light entry surface flat.
- the light entry surface has at least two optically effective, in particular convexly curved, partial surfaces.
- a common connection edge is formed between the two partial surfaces of the light exit surfaces, which extends into the light exit main plane.
- a particularly high homogeneity can be achieved both in the main light exit plane and perpendicular to it in the angular range of -1 ° to + 16 °.
- more than two optically effective partial surfaces form the light exit surface.
- two identical light elements and two optical elements associated with the light elements can be provided according to the invention.
- the light-emitting elements and the optical elements are assigned to one another in such a way that the light is emitted in two main emission directions oriented by 180 ° in opposite directions to one another.
- FIG. 1 is used for example for airfield lighting.
- the luminaire has two light elements 1 which are rotated by 180 ° relative to one another and two optical elements 2 assigned to the luminous elements 1.
- the lamp has two further lighting modules 3 for realizing a further light function.
- the light-emitting elements 1 are formed in the embodiment of the invention in the manner of light-emitting diodes.
- the optical elements 2 are realized as light-diffractive optical elements 2. They are associated with the lighting elements 1 in such a way that light emitted by the lighting element 1 is coupled into the optical element 2, deflected and emitted into a light exit main plane 10.

Abstract
Description
US 2006/0050507 A1 bekannt.
- Fig. 1

Fig. 2 .
