Description

The present invention relates to a burner in particular intended for the combustion of a gaseous mixture.

Conventionally, a total premix gas burner schematically comprises an air / gas mixer, a fan and a flame-holding ramp.

During maintenance operations on the burners and the heat exchanger, it is necessary to access the flame holder and the fireplace for cleaning.

However, in known burners, access to the flame holder ramp requires dismantling elements upstream of the latter, such as the fan, the gas valve, the mixer, etc. It is then necessary to reform gas-tight and premix connections between the elements during reassembly after cleaning.

This is all the more delicate and difficult to put into practice as the assembly is sometimes hyperstatic and includes parts that are fixed relative to each other. In addition, powerful boilers use heavy and bulky parts to handle, which makes reassembly after maintenance even more complex. Documents US7824178 B1 , FR2896574 A1 , EP1925882 A1 and US6019593 A disclose burners according to the prior art.

In this technical context, one of the aims of the invention lies in overcoming at least one of these aforementioned drawbacks.

To this end, the invention provides a burner according to claim 1. This burner comprises a fan arranged to suck a gaseous mixture comprising at least one gas and air, a flame-holding ramp provided with a plurality of openings for diffusing the gaseous mixture inside a hearth, a connection member fluidly connecting the fan to the flame-catching ramp, the connection member having an orifice allowing the release of the flame-holding ramp, the orifice being closed by a removable cover, in which the connection member has a bent geometry having an angle (a) of the elbow between 30 ° and 90 °, the orifice of the connection member being arranged on this elbow.

Thus, according to the invention, it is then possible to remove the cover to gain access to the flame-catching ramp, disengage the flame-catching ramp from the burner and access the boiler hearth for cleaning without the need to dismantle the fan. and other parts obstructing access to the flame trap. Maintenance is thus greatly facilitated and it is possible to dispense with the tightness control of the connections, in particular between the gas supply and the fan, since these elements of the burner no longer have to be disassembled. This secures the use of the burner, and reduces the duration of the intervention.

It is understood in this document that the burner comprising a fan arranged to suck up a gas mixture comprising at least one gas and air is a burner with total premix.

According to the invention, the connection member has a bent geometry, and the orifice of the connection member is arranged on this elbow. In this configuration, the outlet axis i of the fan is not superimposed on the axis of the flame catching ramp which then has clear access and the removal of which is facilitated by opening the cover.

Preferably, the removable cover has a general shape of a spherical cap. This conformation then participates in the homogenization of the gas mixture.

Advantageously, the connection member comprises an outlet opening connected to the flame catching ramp, the outlet axis i of the fan and the normal axis ii to the outlet opening belonging respectively to two distinct parallel planes offset by d 'a distance of one relative to the other, so that the gas mixture is introduced tangentially into the connection member.

This configuration then promotes the formation of a vortex in the gas mixture. This results in a better homogenization of the distribution of the gas and the air of the gas mixture than that obtained in a traditional mixer placed upstream of the fan (in the direction of circulation of the gas mixture). The ignition is then more reliable, the flames generated from the gas mixture are more stable and the emission of pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides is limited.

According to one arrangement, the connection member comprises a channel on which the fan is connected at a junction plane, the channel opening along the outlet axis i of the fan, in the interior volume of the connection member through an internal opening.

Preferably, the channel is extended by a wall surrounding the internal opening, the wall connecting to the interior volume according to a sharp edge. This further promotes the formation of a vortex in the gas mixture and contributes to improving the overall operation of the burner.

According to the invention, the junction plane and the plane of the outlet opening of the connection member are oriented so that their intersection has an angle α between 30 ° and 90 ° and preferably an angle α of about 60 °. This configuration makes it possible to obtain a compromise between the air pressure drop generated by the presence of the connection member and the vortex effect homogenizing the gas mixture. Beyond this angle, in fact, homogenization is improved at the cost of a loss of air pressure, below this angle, the opposite occurs.

According to one possibility, the connection member comprises a junction plane at the level of which the fluid connection with the fan is formed and the connection member comprises an outlet opening connected to the flame catching ramp, the junction plane and the plane of the outlet opening being configured so that their intersection has an angle α of between 30 ° and 90 ° and preferably an angle of about 60 °.

According to an advantageous possibility, the connecting member comprises
  • a non-return valve seat surrounding the internal opening, the non-return valve seat having an angle equal to or greater than 90 ° relative to the horizontal, and
  • a movable non-return valve between a first rest position against the seat and closing the internal opening and a second position for releasing the internal opening, so as to greatly limit the return of the fumes generated by the combustion of the gas mixture in the fireplace when the burner is off.

The angle formed between the seat and the plane of the outlet opening or the horizontal plane advantageously allows the non-return valve to rest on the seat by simple gravity. This angle, different from the angle α between the junction plane and the plane of the outlet opening, can be easily obtained by the presence of the channel giving space allowing to provide a seat having a different inclination than that of the junction plane.

Avantageusement le clapet anti-retour est amovible.Advantageously, the non-return valve is removable.

Advantageously, the connection member comprises sealing means making it possible to seal at least between the connection member and the hearth, and between the connection member and the fan. Thus, maintenance of the burner can be carried out without dismantling the sealed connections between the connection member and the other elements of the boiler, by simply removing the removable cover. The tightness of these connections is therefore not to be checked at the end of the intervention, unlike the device of the prior art.

According to one arrangement, the connection member comprises at least one of the devices chosen from a support for ignition electrodes, a flame finder, a support for ionization electrode, and a member for measuring the pressure in the furnace. The outer surface of the connection member is then used to provide secondary functions of the burner, which are then easily accessible. In addition, the integration of these secondary functions directly on a foundry part is more economical than providing these functions on many other ancillary parts.

More precisely, the angle α of the bend 5 is between 30 ° and 90 ° and preferably the angle α is d 'about 60 °.

This arrangement makes it possible to remove the flame catching ramp 2 through the orifice after removal of the removable cover 6 ( figure 3 ). It is thus possible to carry out the cleaning of the flame catching rail 2 and to access the fireplace for its maintenance without the need to dismantle the fan 1, the mixer and the gas valve supplying the mixer upstream.

The connecting member 4 illustrated in the figure 2 includes an outlet opening 8, connected to the flame catching rail 2 for the transfer of the gas and air mixture to the hearth. The connection member 4 also comprises a channel 10 connected to the fan 1 at a junction plane 18 as visible on the figure 6 . The channel 10 is extended by a wall 17 surrounding an internal opening 7, the latter giving access to the internal volume 22 of the connection member 4.

As illustrated in figure 2 , a seal 9 is inserted between the connection member 4 and the removable cover 6 to guarantee the tightness of the connection member 4 to the gas mixture. The connection member 4 also comprises sealing means, such as seal grooves 21, for example for O-ring, at the interface between the connection member 4 and the hearth as well as at the interface between the connection member 4 and the fan 1 ( figures 2 and 3 ).

The figure 4 illustrates the internal volume 22 of the connection member 4 in which the axis of the channel 10 is not in the same plane as the normal axis ii at the outlet opening 8. As appears in this figure, l the axis of the channel 10 and the normal axis ii at the outlet opening 8 belong to separate parallel planes offset by a distance d. This arrangement makes it possible to create a vortex in the flow of the gas mixture by introducing it tangentially. This contributes to improving its homogeneity. In addition, the wall 17 is connected to the interior volume 22 according to a sharp edge 23 which contributes to accentuate the movement of the vortex.

The connection member comprises a seat 19 for a non-return valve 11, the seat 19 being oriented, by virtue of the presence of the channel 10, so as to present an angle equal to or greater than 90 ° relative to the horizontal as illustrated in figure 6 . The non-return valve 11 can therefore rest by simple gravity against the seat 19, which would not have been possible if the valve 11 was received in the edge of the junction plane 18. Thus the valve 11 is designed to be movable between two positions, a first rest position where the valve rests against the seat 19 so as to close off the internal opening 7 and a second position in which the valve 11 releases the internal opening 7 as illustrated in the figure 6 . Thus, when the burner 100 stops, the presence of this non-return valve 11 makes it possible to prevent the fumes from the combustion of the gaseous mixture from rising too abundantly towards the fan 1.

De plus, un transformateur d'allumage 16 est disposé sur le capot amovible 6.The available external surface of the connection member 4 can be used to arrange devices secondary to the operation of the burner 100, such as a support for ignition electrode 12, a flame finder 13, a support for ionization electrode 14 and a member for measuring the pressure 15 of the hearth, as illustrated in the figure 5 . In addition, an ignition transformer 16 is arranged on the removable cover 6.

During the operation of the burner 100, a determined ratio of gas and air is firstly received in a mixer, for example of the venturi type, to form the gaseous combustion mixture. The latter is sucked in by the fan 1 which propels it towards the connection member 4. The junction plane 18 and the plane of the outlet opening 8 for the gas mixture are oriented at an angle of approximately 60 °, and the openings 7,8 also being offset by a distance d, a vortex path of the gas mixture is generated. Thus, the gaseous mixture is very well homogenized at the entrance to the flame catching rail 2. Its ignition is then more reliable and the flames generated are more stable, which contributes to the proper functioning of the burner 100. In addition, this homogeneity of the gas mixture reduces the emission of polluting fumes in the home.

The general shape of the spherical cap of the removable cover 6 participates in the homogenization of the gas mixture while minimizing the pressure drop.

Ce dernier est par ailleurs amélioré par l'obtention d'un mélange gazeux de combustion plus homogène en sortie de l'organe de raccordement 4.Thus, the present invention provides a decisive improvement in the state of the prior art by proposing a connecting member 4 provided with a removable cover 6, arranged between the fan 1 and the flame-catching ramp 2 of the burner 100. This allows easier access to the flame-holding ramp 2 and to the hearth for their maintenance. Due to the fact that it is no longer necessary to dismantle the elements upstream of the flame-arresting ramp 2 and their sealed connections, maintenance is faster and secures the operation of the burner 100. The latter is also improved by the obtaining a more homogeneous combustion gas mixture at the outlet of the connection member 4.
