Hierbei hat sich nun herausgestellt, dass ein größerer Verschleiß an der Mittelelektrode als an der Masseelektrode in einem Verschleißverhältnis von 1/3 zu 2/3 vorliegt. Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, dass die Mittelelektrode und die Masseelektrode in einer einander stirnseitig gegenüberliegenden Anordnung angeordnet sind (sogenannte Pin-to-Pin-Anordnung). Dabei weist der Edelmetallstift an der Mittelelektrode einen größeren Durchmesser auf als der Edelmetallstift an der Masseelektrode.
