Abstract
A skiing exerciser includes a pair of handles (20) attached to a base (10) for supporting an upper portion of a user, a cushion (30) disposed on the base (10), and a platform (50) mounted on the cushion (30) for supporting the user and for simulating a skiing operation, the cushion (30) includes a chamber (31) for forming a tubular element (32) and for increasing a resilience of the cushion (30), the cushion (30) includes an outer peripheral recess (33) for increasing a resilience of the cushion (30) and for allowing the cushion (30) to be suitably deformed or twisted or squeezed or depressed or compressed by the user.
Description
- The invention relates to a skiing exerciser.
- Typical skiing exercisers comprise a pair of handles, a pair of rails, and a pair of foot pedals slidably engaged with the rails. However, the foot pedals may only be slide along the rails but may not be moved up and down relative to the uneven ground.
- The invention aims at providing a new type of skiing exerciser for simulating the actual skiing operations and/or exercises.
- This technical problem is solved by an exerciser as indicated in the claims.
- In the drawings
-
FIGS. 1 ,2 are perspective views of a skiing exerciser; -
FIG. 3 is a partial exploded view of the skiing exerciser; -
FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view of the skiing exerciser; -
FIGS. 5, 6 are perspective views of the skiing exerciser; and -
FIGS. 7, 8 ,9, 10 are plan views of the skiing exerciser. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-3 , a skiing exerciser comprises abase 10, a pair ofhandles 20 and acushion 30. Thecushion 30 is arranged on the base 10 (FIGS. 2-4 ) by means of latches or fasteners - The
base 10 includes a pair ofjoints 11 for mounting said pair ofhandles 20 which may be retractable. Thehandles 20 are arranged at opposite sides of the cushion and are movable back and forth about thejoints 11. Preferably, thejoints 11 are arranged at the level of thecushion 30, i.e. at approximately the same height. - The
cushion 30 is disposed on the base 10 (FIGS. 2-4 ) with latches or fasteners and includes achamber 31 for defining atubular element 32 and an outerperipheral recess 33 for increasing the resilience of thecushion 30. - A foot support or
platform 50 is mounted on thecushion 30 with latches or fasteners for supporting auser 8. The foot support orplatform 50 has a dimension greater than that of thecushion 30 for allowing the outerperipheral portion 51 of theplatform 50 to be extended out of thecushion 30, thecushion 30 may be depressed to simulate the actual skiing operations (FIGS. 5-10 ). - The foot support or
platform 50 extends laterally beyond thecushion 30 to fully cover thecushion 30. It may also fully cover thebase 10 with thecushion 30 being sandwiched between theplatform 50 andbase 10. - In operation, the
user 8 may hold thehandles 20 and may depress thecushion 30 with or without theplatform 50 in order to simulate the actual skiing operations or exercises. In other words, in another embodiment the exerciser works without theplatform 50 and the user steps onto the cushion directly. - The
user 8 may step on the central portion and/or the outerperipheral portion 51 of theplatform 50, and is not required to be moved away from theplatform 50 such that the skiing exerciser is good for rehabilitation operations. The skiing exerciser may be easily manufactured and assembled with the reduced manufacturing procedures and cost.
