Definitions
- the invention relates to a weaving shank for weaving machines.
- heald frames are frame-shaped arrangements with a long horizontal upper shaft rod and arranged underneath a long, horizontal lower shaft rod.
- the ends of both shaft rods are connected by side supports.
- the shaft rods carry Litzentragschienen on which healds sit.
- the heald must be removable.
- the side supports are removable.
- To connect the shaft rods and the side supports are releasable corner connectors. Examples of this are, for example, from the DE 10 2005 029 701 B3 or even from the DE 103 49 381 B4 known.
- the CH 427688 A as well as the DE 101 16 813 B4 disclose the principle of a corner connector with two out of the shaft rod worked out clamping legs, between which an extension of the side support is clamped.
- jaws On the legs jaws are attached, which are clamped to each other via a clamping means to clamp the extension of the side support between each other.
- These jaws can be formed of a solid material, in particular metal, for example steel. Regardless of the heald of other material, preferably aluminum may be formed.
- the jaws can be firmly or movably connected to the legs. Between the two jaws there is a distance, which is preferably several centimeters, but in any case so large that an average operator could reach into the opening between the jaws with his thumb or fingers if the protective element were not arranged there.
- the extension occupies less than half the volume of the opening. In the preferred embodiment, the extension occupies less than one third of the volume. He is thus clamped only between the ends of the legs while the largest part of the opening remains free. The thus relatively long legs pivot during clamping only very little, so that at the clamped between them extension a uniform surface pressure and thus a large-scale power transmission is given.
- the protective element At least the major part of the opening is covered by the protective element.
- the cover is complete.
- smaller areas or openings that are so small that an operator can not reach in with his finger can also remain free.
- the protective element may be formed both as a closed, sheet-like element and alternatively have one or more smaller openings.
- the protective element is preferably held on the heald by means of at least one fastening element.
- the fastening element may, for example, be a latching finger extending transversely through the opening. While the protective element preferably bears against the edge of the opening on one of the flat sides, the latching finger then preferably engages behind the other flat side. It has been found that this type of attachment allows a simple attachment of the protective element to the shaft rod and also ensures that the protective element does not come loose even at high accelerations of the shaft rod.
- the protective element may be secured to the shaft rod by other means.
- it may be attached to the shaft rod by adhesive or adhesive. It extends at least along part of the surrounding the opening, belonging to the flat side edge and is glued to the flat side.
- the protective element may also be a body which is arranged in the opening and held there.
- the attachment can in turn be made possible by clamping, by gluing or latching.
- the protective element regardless of its design, is preferably made of a plastic, e.g. a transparent or opaque plastic.
- the protective element is compliant to the extent that it does not hinder the slight relative movement of the two limbs delimiting the opening, which occurs when clamping or releasing the extension of the side support.
- FIG. 1 a heald 10 is schematically illustrated. It comprises an upper shaft rod 11 and a lower shaft rod 12, which are arranged at a distance parallel to each other.
- the shaft rods 11, 12 are interconnected by a left side support 13 and a right side support 14. Thus, a rectangular frame is formed, are arranged in the not further illustrated healds.
- the shaft rods 11, 12 carry Litzentragschienen for receiving the healds.
- FIG. 2 shows the heddle support rail 15 of the upper shaft rod 11. While the shaft rod 11 is a narrow, high in cross-section approximately rectangular aluminum profile, the heddle support rail 15 is preferably formed of steel.
- the shaft rod 11 may alternatively be formed of other materials, for example. Fiber-reinforced plastics or the like.
- FIG. 2 illustrates the upper end of the left side support 13 and the left end of the upper shaft rod 11.
- the corner joint 16 is particularly shown here.
- the side support 13 extends in use in the vertical direction and is guided vertically movable in the weaving machine. It has a substantially straight shank 20 from which a horizontal extension 21 protrudes, for example, at right angles to the shaft 20.
- the extension 21 has, for example, a rectangular cross-section. Preferably, it has a horizontal thickness which is not greater than the small thickness of the upper shaft rod 11.
- the shaft rod 11 is provided at its end 22 with an opening 23 which extends from the front end starting in the shaft rod 11 and also its two flat sides 24, 25 passes.
- a mouth-like opening is formed, which is bounded by its upper leg 26 and a lower leg 27.
- the two legs 26, 27 are preferably provided with clamping pieces 28, 29, which may, for example, consist of steel or solid aluminum or another material. While the shaft rod 11 may be formed overall as a lightweight hollow profile, the clamping pieces 28, 29 are preferably solid. They can be riveted, bolted or otherwise connected with the legs 26, 27.
- the distance between the mutually facing, preferably plane, clamping surfaces of the clamping legs 28, 29 preferably substantially coincides with the distance of the upper and lower surfaces of the extension 21. The extension 21 can thus be easily inserted between the legs 26, 27.
- a tensioning means may e.g. be guided in the form of a clamping bolt 30 or other element through the holes and screwed into the threaded bore of the lower clamping piece 29. If the clamping bolt 30 is tightened, the legs 26, 27 move slightly resilient and the extension 21 is clamped between the two clamping pieces 28, 29.
- This function is particularly exemplary achieved when the opening 23 a measured from the front end of the shaft rod 11 in the horizontal direction depth which is substantially larger than the length of the extension 21 measured in the same direction.
- a large part of the opening 23 remains open to the flat side 24 and 25, respectively.
- a protective element 31 is provided, which covers the opening 23 in the present embodiment to the flat side 24 out.
- the protective element 31 is in the FIGS. 3 and 4 separately illustrated. It is formed, for example, by a thin plastic plate which is formed to match the shape of the opening 23. It extends over the edge 32 of the opening 23 and is located at the marginal part of the flat side 24 accordingly.
- trained mounting claws 33 to 37 extend approximately at right angles to the opening 23 facing side of the plate-shaped body of the protective element 31 away.
- the fastening claws 33 to 37 are provided with locking lugs or other projections which can engage behind the edge of the opening 23 in order to hold the protective element 31 on the opposite flat side 25.
- the fastening claws 33 to 37 are arranged following the edge 32 of the opening 23.
- the opening 23 is preferably bounded by the mutually parallel legs, wherein it has straight edges. These two straight edges merge into one another in an arcuate end section. Accordingly, the plate-shaped main body of the protective element 31 is provided with two mutually parallel straight edges 38, 39, which are interconnected by an arcuate, preferably circular arc-shaped edge portion 40. In the vicinity of the straight edges 38, 39, the thickness of the plate-shaped main body of the protective element 31 can be reduced. There are so edge-open grooves 41, 42 are formed, the the inclusion of laterally projecting parts of the clamping pieces 28, 29 serve.
- the thickness of the plate-shaped main body of the protective element 31 is low. At the outward facing in FIG. 3 overhead side, it is preferably flat.
- the protective element 31 is preferably arranged on the weaving shafts mounted in a weaving machine on the weaving shafts which are arranged on the outside in the weaving sheaf group, preferably on the outwardly facing flat side thereof. In this way it is prevented that a user inadvertently reach into the opening 23 and suffers a crushing when switching on the machine or even during slow operation, eg during setup.
- similar WebMfte are arranged in close proximity. A finger passing through the openings 23 of adjacent healds would otherwise be squeezed, injured or separated during a relative movement of the heddle shafts.
- FIGS. 5 to 7 illustrate an alternative embodiment of a protective element 43, which is designed as a filler. This is to be arranged in the opening 23 and thus blocks access to it from the flat side.
- the filler 43 has a shape that is adapted to the shape of the opening 23.
- the thickness of the protective element 43 is made FIG. 7 seen. The thickness to be measured between its two flat sides 44, 45 preferably corresponds to the thickness of the shaft rod 11 to be measured between the two flat sides 24, 25.
- the filling body 43 also has an upper and a lower narrow surface 46, 47 which are adapted to the clamping pieces 28, 29 come into contact. At the end of the narrow surface 46, a step 48 is provided, in which the height of the filling body 43 increased. A corresponding step 49 is provided following the lower narrow surface 47. Adjoining the steps 48, 49 is an initially straight and then arcuate edge 50, which engages behind the side walls of the shaft rod 11 and thus secures the filling body 43 in the opening 23.
- the filling body 43 fills the opening 23 so far that the extension 21 just barely fits between the clamping pieces 28, 29.
- the frontal narrow surface 51 of the filling body 43 abuts against the end face of the extension 21 or is held at a small distance therefrom.
- the packing 43 may be made of a solid plastic material, a foamed material or the like. He is, at least slightly, flexible yielding, not to hinder a slight spring movement of the legs 26, 27.
- the filling body 43 can also be positively closed in the opening 23 and, if necessary, also in a materially cohesive manner, e.g. be secured by adhesive or adhesive.
- other attachment means such as e.g. Fixing clips, projections, noses and the like may be provided.
- FIGS. 8 to 10 Another alternative embodiment of a protective element 52 is shown in FIGS FIGS. 8 to 10 illustrated.
- the protective element 52 is designed here as an adhesive element. It preferably has the shape of a thin plate of constant thickness with a shape adapted to the shape of the opening 23 contour 53. This is dimensioned so that the protective element 52 engages over the edge 32 of the opening 23.
- Longitudinal slots 54, 55 may be provided to receive or pass laterally over the flat sides 24, 25 projecting portions of the clamping pieces 28, 29.
- the lengths of the mutually parallel Slots 54, 55 are matched to the lengths of the clamping pieces 28, 29.
- the adhesive elements 52 can be secured on one of the flat sides 24, 25 or also on both flat sides on the edge 32 of the opening 23 by adhesive and remain permanently on the shaft rod 11.
- one or more heald frames of a shedding unit can be provided with protective elements of one or more of the abovementioned types.
- Protective elements 31 are provided for the corner connectors 16 to 19 of a heddle 10 of a shedding unit, which cover the clearance formed between two legs 26, 27 and thus form a grip protection.

It is an object of the invention to minimize hazards arising from the healds for operators.
Especially when setting up a loom in case of business interruptions due to malfunction or other occasions, operators must have access to the heald, and at least a slow movement of the heald must be possible. In such cases, it must be effectively prevented that operators injure or otherwise be harmed.
It is an object of the invention to provide a heddle with improved safety.
- The weaving shank according to the invention has at least one corner connector, which contains a cavity which is open to at least one of the flat sides of the shaft rod. The cavity is bounded by two legs, which are preferably part of the shaft rod and preferably have a length which is significantly greater than the length of the extension of the side support to be received between them. In that regard, remains a significant opening that passes through the side surface. The protection element arranged on or in the opening obstructs access to the opening, so that operating personnel can not get into this opening either with tools or with parts of the clothing or fingers. Thus, the risk of injury when handling the hive considerably reduced.
On the legs jaws are attached, which are clamped to each other via a clamping means to clamp the extension of the side support between each other. These jaws can be formed of a solid material, in particular metal, for example steel. Regardless of the heald of other material, preferably aluminum may be formed. The jaws can be firmly or movably connected to the legs. Between the two jaws there is a distance, which is preferably several centimeters, but in any case so large that an average operator could reach into the opening between the jaws with his thumb or fingers if the protective element were not arranged there.
Preferably, the extension occupies less than half the volume of the opening.
At least the major part of the opening is covered by the protective element. Preferably, the cover is complete. Alternatively, smaller areas or openings that are so small that an operator can not reach in with his finger can also remain free. In that regard, the protective element may be formed both as a closed, sheet-like element and alternatively have one or more smaller openings.
The protective element is preferably held on the heald by means of at least one fastening element. The fastening element may, for example, be a latching finger extending transversely through the opening.
Alternatively, the protective element may be secured to the shaft rod by other means. For example, it may be attached to the shaft rod by adhesive or adhesive. It extends at least along part of the surrounding the opening, belonging to the flat side edge and is glued to the flat side.
However, the protective element may also be a body which is arranged in the opening and held there. The attachment can in turn be made possible by clamping, by gluing or latching.
The protective element, regardless of its design, is preferably made of a plastic, e.g. a transparent or opaque plastic. Preferably, the protective element is compliant to the extent that it does not hinder the slight relative movement of the two limbs delimiting the opening, which occurs when clamping or releasing the extension of the side support.

The
While the
The opening 23 is preferably bounded by the mutually parallel legs, wherein it has straight edges. These two straight edges merge into one another in an arcuate end section. Accordingly, the plate-shaped main body of the

In use, the filling
The packing 43 may be made of a solid plastic material, a foamed material or the like. He is, at least slightly, flexible yielding, not to hinder a slight spring movement of the

The
