Description

    Technical sector of the invention
  • The invention relates to a shower head for showers, and in particular a shower head of the type set into a wall.
    • Prior art
  • Shower heads of different types are known.
  • Generally, shower heads of a known type are affixed to the masonry of the shower compartment, for example supported on a wall by brackets or rods, and may either be adjustable or not in position.
  • In other cases, the shower heads are mounted fixed on the ceiling of the shower compartment and receive the water from pipes installed in the masonry or in the false ceiling, if present.
  • In the latter cases, installation of the shower head envisages wall mounting of the head or spray-delivery cartridge, in a position flush with the plane of the ceiling or false ceiling.
  • At times the spray-delivery cartridges are of very large dimensions and with a grid distribution of the nozzles that simulates a "rain effect".
  • A system of a known type is described in the U.S. patent application No. US2007044227 .
  • From CN201880655 it is disclosed a set-in ceiling-mounted shower head comprising fixing means for fixing to a false ceiling and to a ceiling wall.
  • From US5060322 it is further disclosed a ceiling shower element for a shower room comprising a plate adapted to be installed in the ceiling of the shower room.
  • Installations of a known type present some drawbacks, in particular because they force the shower head to be fixed flush with the wall or in any case with the false ceiling, which renders complicated, if not indeed impossible, recessed installation of the shower head in the absence of the false ceiling.
  • Furthermore, the positioning of the shower head flush with the wall hinders simultaneous mounting of accessories, such as lights, to be combined with the shower head. A further drawback lies in the fact that in installations of a known type, since the recess body to be pre-mounted in the false ceiling or ceiling is not present, it is not possible to set the spray-delivery cartridge in a position set in with respect to the height of the ceiling itself and in particular not in contact with the structural parts made of plasterboard and/or plaster.
    • Object of the invention
  • The purpose of the present invention is to provide a recessed shower head that enables the drawbacks of the already known solutions regarding positioning of the shower head with respect to the ceiling/false ceiling to be overcome.
    • Summary of the invention
  • The above purpose has been achieved by providing a recessed shower head according to at least one of the annexed claims.
  • A first advantage lies in the fact that the spray-delivery cartridge can be set in a position where it is set in with respect to the plane of the ceiling.
  • A second advantage lies in the fact that the system devised enables insertion of accessories, for example lighting bodies, combined with the spray-delivery cartridge.
  • A further advantage consists in the possibility of mounting the recess body during the steps of production of the systems and, only when the finishing operations have been completed, mounting the spray-delivery cartridge (anchoring it during the connections to the safety cables) without any risk of damaging masonry parts where the finishing operations have already been completed.

    • Figure 1 shows a shower head according to the invention in a configuration where it is suspended from a ceiling wall;
    • Figure 2 shows a shower head according to the invention in a configuration where it is fixed directly to a ceiling wall;
    • Figure 3 shows a shower head according to the invention with framed configuration;
    • Figure 4 shows a preferred embodiment of the shower head according to the invention.
    Detailed description
  • With reference to the annexed drawings, a ceiling-mounted set-in shower head is described.
  • In the embodiment illustrated, the shower head comprises a recess body 1 provided with fixing means 10 for fixing to a false ceiling S, and fixing means for fixing to a ceiling wall P, set above the false ceiling S.
  • Preferably, the fixing means for fixing to the wall P can be constituted by suspension means, for example chains and hooks (Figure 1), or by brackets 13 for direct fixing to the wall P (Figure 2).
  • The body 1 defines an internal compartment 2, in which a box-shaped spray-delivery cartridge 7 can be housed, and has a bottom surface 6 parallel to the plane of the false ceiling S.
  • In the example described, the surface 6 is defined by the bottom edge of the body 1 and constitutes a reference plane for the position of installation of the cartridge within the recess compartment 2.
  • Advantageously, with this solution the cartridge 7 can be fixed to second internal walls 14 of the body 1, being recessed with respect to the surface 6, thus being, in a position where it is set in by a pre-set amount d with respect to the reference plane 6.
  • Furthermore, the cartridge 7 can be installed in the compartment 2 flush with the internal walls 4 of the recess body 1, or else detached from these so as to define a gap 8 available for insertion of accessories, for example lighting bodies to be located in a position above the cartridge.
  • In a preferred embodiment (illustrated in Figure 3), the recess body 1 forms a perimetral frame 3 that defines the plane of the false ceiling S and that finds application in all those cases where it is not possible to mount a complete false ceiling S underneath the ceiling wall P. Preferably, the recess body is made of metal material and is formed by a U-shaped sectional element made of a single piece 15 (Figure 4) or by a number of sectional elements welded together.
  • In different embodiments of the invention, the shower head may be made of various dimensions, shapes and proportions, for example with a rectangular or square cartridge 7 and with a grid distribution of the nozzles 11.
  • The present invention has been described according to preferred embodiments, but equivalent variants can be devised without thereby departing from the sphere of protection granted.

Claims (9)

  1. A set-in ceiling-mounted shower head, comprising a recess body (1) having internal walls (4) and provided with fixing means (11) for fixing to a false ceiling (S) and fixing means (12, 13) for fixing to a ceiling wall (P), the body (1) defining an internal compartment (2) and a bottom surface (6), which is parallel to the plane of the false ceiling (S) constituting a reference plane for a spray-delivery cartridge (7) installed in said internal compartment (2), characterized in that said cartridge is set into the internal compartment (2) recessed by a pre-set amount (d) with respect to the reference plane (6).
  2. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the spray-delivery cartridge is positioned flush with the internal walls of the recess body.
  3. The shower head according to claim 1, wherein the spray-delivery cartridge is positioned detached from internal walls (4) of the recess body so as to define a gap (8) available for insertion of accessories, for example lighting bodies in a position above the cartridge itself.
  4. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said recess body (1) comprises a perimetral frame (3) with a bottom wall (5) that defines the plane of the false ceiling (S).
  5. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said recess body (1) is fixed to the false ceiling by means of brackets (10).
  6. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said recess body has a basically U-shaped cross section defined by said walls (4) and by further internal walls (14), which are set in with respect to the plane (6) and are provided for fixing of the cartridge (7).
  7. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said recess body is made of a single piece (15).
  8. The shower head according any one of the preceding claims, wherein said recess body is suspended by means of fixing elements (12) to the ceiling wall (P).
  9. The shower head according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in said recess body is fixed to a ceiling wall (P) by means of fixing means consisting of rigid brackets (13).
