Description

The present invention relates to a lamp having a lamp base, an elongated supporting strut held by means of the lamp socket, which can be changed in its length, and a lamp arranged on the support strut.

In the development of lighting technology, there are a variety of different constructions in the prior art. In addition to the good light output, in particular functionality and lightweight construction are often a desired criterion. In particular, e.g. required in workplace or reading lights with a mounted on a support strut bulbs that the position and / or orientation of the light source can be adjusted individually by adjusting the support strut. For this purpose, constructions are known from the prior art, in which the length of the support strut can be changed.

So is from the utility model DE 202 10 215 U1 already a luminaire with a support strut known in which the support strut is designed to be variable in length, and at least partially formed from a band-shaped, biased material, which is convertible from a stable extended position to a rolled-up position and vice versa.

The US 4,706,172 also discloses a luminaire having a luminaire base and a support strut held therewith of at least two bands, the length of which is variable by being convertible from a rolled-up position into an extended position or vice versa.

A disadvantage of the example of the DE 202 10 215 U1 However, the previously known construction is that in practice it is difficult to provide a roll-up support strut which has sufficient mechanical stability in its extended position.

Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a luminaire, while maintaining the functionality of the DE 202 10 215 U1 known luminaire has a significantly improved mechanical stability of the support strut.

This object is achieved by a luminaire with the features of the main claim. The dependent claims are advantageous embodiments and developments refer to.

A luminaire according to the invention comprises a luminaire base and an elongated support strut held by means of the luminous socket, which can be changed in its length. Furthermore, the luminaire according to the invention comprises a light-emitting means arranged on the support strut. The term light socket in the context of the present application, all devices are to be understood that are suitable as a stand or attachment means of the lamp. Also, the support strut does not need to be located directly on the lamp base, but may also extend at a distance from this with the interposition of other support elements.

According to the invention, the support strut now consists of at least two bands, each of which can be moved from a rolled-up position into an extended position or vice versa, can be rolled up for itself and are mechanically connected at least at one point, such that the bands mechanically adjoin one another in the extended position support. The straps have in their extended position transverse to their direction of extension in a first direction, a low buckling resistance, and in a direction opposite to the first direction of the second direction, a high buckling resistance. The term "buckling stiffness" should be understood to mean the ability to maintain the stretched position under the action of a force directed transversely to the direction of extension of the belt. According to the invention, the bands also have an arcuate cross section in the extended position, and the outer surfaces of this arcuate cross section of the bands are arranged adjacent to one another in the stretched position of the bands.

As mentioned, in the present invention, the support strut consists of at least two bands which mutually support one another in the extended position. This improves the construction of the utility model DE 202 10 215 U1 said lamp to the effect that no stable stretched position of each band is needed more alone. Rather, there is sufficient mechanical stability of the support strut in its extended position just by the fact that the roll-up bands, which may not be alone or have no sufficient stability, in particular buckling resistance, so support one another that results in the sum of sufficient mechanical stability.

Particularly suitable bands have proven to have a profile which has a high buckling resistance transversely to the direction of extension of the band in a first spatial direction, and in a direction perpendicular thereto, which is also oriented transversely to the extension direction, a significantly reduced buckling resistance. By way of example, arcuate profiles may be mentioned for this, in particular U and V profiles, but also W profiles or corrugated profiles in general have this advantageous property. If such profiles according to the invention "back-to back" used, and the bands are mechanically connected to each other at least one point, so they stiffen each other, so that one of at least two, but possibly also three, four or more bands existing support strut a high mechanical strength, in particular has a high buckling resistance in all directions transverse to the extension direction of the support strut. It is particularly advantageous if the direction of low buckling stiffness of the bands is oriented in the horizontal direction.

Due to the use and the special arrangements of the at least two bands thus increases the buckling resistance of the entire strut at the same time significantly simplified design. In addition to cost advantages, this makes it possible to significantly increase the maximum length of the support strut. This significantly increases the functionality of the luminaire since it is now e.g. can be used as a table, floor and ceiling lamp with variable light source position.

In the case of the present luminaire, it can preferably be provided that the rolled-up part of the support strut is arranged in the luminaire base, in particular held by it. In addition to design reasons, it is also advantageous for practical reasons, to hide the rolled up state of the bands in the light socket, since the bands are protected from dirt deposits.

The lamp base can also be advantageously designed so that it is suitable for mounting the lamp, for example on a wall or ceiling surface or a plate of a piece of furniture.

In general, each band of the support strut in its rolled-up state will have a different cross section than in its extended position. This means that when removing or inserting the support strut a mechanically changing shape of the bands is required. Since this change in shape is essential for the pull-out behavior of the support strut, it has also proved to be advantageous if the lamp base comprises forming means which are intended to change the cross-sectional shape of each band during extension or insertion of the support strut. For this purpose, the For example, lamp base have a forming portion for an insertable part of the bands, by means of which the bands due to the shaping of the forming area continuously from their cross-sectional shape in the rolled-up position to its cross-sectional shape in its extended position and vice versa be transferred. The forming area thus serves as a guide to transfer the support strut from a stretched to a rolled-up position. The user of the lamp thus only needs to apply a force in the longitudinal direction of the support strut. The transformation processes, which must be carried out in the transfer of the stretched in a rolled-up position, then takes over the forming area.

Finally, it can be additionally provided that the support strut can be pivoted about an axis of rotation relative to the horizontal, and in particular in a desired angular position can be determined by the user. As a result, the support strut can not only change in length, but can also assume any angular positions. In this case, the pivot axis is preferably in the range of the light socket and is aligned horizontally.

Leuchtenkopf bereit stellen. One way to connect the bands as provided according to the invention in at least one point with each other, is to pierce them at one point and to connect them positively by a screw. But also a material connection, e.g. Welding (for example by means of a spot weld), gluing (for example by means of a glue point) or pressing, or else via a positive connection such as a closure, is fundamentally possible. Preferably, the at least one mechanical connection point is arranged on the outer end of the support strut. Furthermore, he can provide a mechanical connection to the lamp or lamp head.

Furthermore, the bands can be electrically conductive. This configuration means that no separate, electrical leads are necessary or visible. For design reasons, this embodiment is advantageous. According to a variant, the bands may also be electrically isolated from each other. Preferably, in this embodiment, the at least one mechanical connection between the bands is made electrically non-conductive. In particular, in this embodiment, a safety shutdown can be integrated into the lamp according to the invention. This can be integrated in the form of a monitoring device in the lamp, the line resistance of the bands and possibly the Measures bulb. If the measured resistance changes significantly, which could occur, for example, in the event of a kinking of the bands, ie a mechanical failure of the support strut, the monitoring device automatically switches off the voltage supply of the luminous means. Such a monitoring device can be integrated in particular in a ballast of the lamp.

Fig. 1 on the one hand embodiment of a lamp 100, which is essentially a lamp base 1, one at an adjustable angle to the horizontal upwardly extending support strut 2 and one at the free end the supporting strut 2 arranged lampshade 6 includes, which receives a light source 3, for example a light bulb, a fluorescent tube or a modern semiconductor-based light source.

The lamp base 1 is designed as a hemispherical housing, in which the rolled-up part of the bands 4, together with associated roll-up mechanism 15, a pivoting device 13 and a ballast 14 for controlling the lighting means 3 on.

The support strut 2 is in the lamp 100 according to Fig. 1 of two bands 4, which are convertible from an extended position to a rolled-up position. In this position, the rolled ends of the bands 4 are completely absorbed in the Aufrollmechanik 15 and disappear virtually completely in the light socket 1. The bands 4 are made of a metal sheet (eg spring steel) with a thickness of typically less than 1 millimeter, preferably below 0, 5 mm, formed, wherein the bands 4 are electrically insulated from each other by a coating applied on all sides or plastic coating. The bands 4 serve as electrical leads for the lamp 3.

The mechanical connection between lampshade 6 and support strut 2 is in Fig. 3 shown, which is a section enlargement of Fig. 2 represents. How out Fig. 3 It can be seen that the bands 4 are connected at their outer end by means of a screw 7 with an elongate attachment lug 12 of the lampshade 6. As a result, an articulated connection between lampshade 6 and support strut 2 is realized. Furthermore, the attachment lug 12 is divided transversely to its longitudinal axis, wherein the two parts are rotatably supported against each other about the common longitudinal axis in a suitable manner. Overall, this results in the adjustability of the lampshade 6, in Fig. 1 indicated by the corresponding arrows on the lampshade 6, namely a rotatability of the lampshade 6 against the longitudinal axis of the support strut 2 and a pivoting of the lampshade 6 against the horizontal.

In addition, the screw 7 in cooperation with the attachment lug 12 is a punctual mechanical connection between the bands 4, over which the bands 4 abut each other as provided by the invention. The attachment lug 12 holds the band ends in one certain distance from each other, so that in a section through the bands 4 along the line II in Fig. 1 the view according to Fig. 5 results. It can also be seen from this figure that each band 4 in the extended state has an arcuate cross-section transverse to its direction of extent, as seen in FIG Fig. 7 It can be seen that a sectional view through the support strut 2 along the line II in Fig. 1 shows. This arcuate cross-section has the consequence that each individual band 4 in the direction transverse to the direction of extension y-direction according to Fig. 7 has a significantly lower buckling stiffness than in the also extending transversely to the direction of extension x-direction. Furthermore, the arcuate cross section has the consequence that the buckling stiffness of the in Fig. 5 marked with 4.1 bands in the y-direction is significantly less than in the opposite negative y-direction. Comparable properties also have bands 4, whose cross sections one of in Fig. 8 correspond schematically indicated cross sections. Here are the in Fig. 8 illustrated cross sections only as an example and not to be understood as a final list of suitable cross-sectional shapes.

Fig. 3a shows an alternative embodiment of a support strut 2 of a lamp 100 according to the invention. In this alternative embodiment, the arcuate bands 4 are oriented with their backs 9 against each other, so that they are mechanically supported with their backs 9 along a line of contact L, as shown in the sectional view Fig. 7 It can be seen that a section along the line III-III in Fig. 3a shows. This leads to a relation to the embodiment according to Fig. 3 again increased buckling stiffness of the support strut 2 in total in both the positive and in the negative y-direction.

From the design of the bands 4 according to Fig. 5 results in a mechanically highly resilient variant of the light strut 2. In the transfer of the bands 4 in the cross-sectional shape according to Fig. 5 On the inner surface 9 of the bands 4 a greater stress in the transverse direction, that is perpendicular to the illustrated cross section, and an elongation on the outer surface 8 is generated. The stresses in the longitudinal direction are compensated and are substantially identical, so that the bands 4 have a straight longitudinal course and thus the in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 represented extended part of the support strut 2 form. The in Fig. 5 illustrated arcuate cross-section of the bands 4 (or a cross section according to Fig. 8 ) leads to a very good buckling resistance of the entire support strut 2. Furthermore, in the embodiment according to Fig. 7 , the stability of the supporting strut 2 is further increased by the fact that the bands 4 touch with their outer surfaces 8 and thereby additionally mechanically support one another along an extended contact line.

When rolled up, the bands 4 are generally rectilinear in cross-section (see Fig. 6 ). However, this is optional, in principle a change in the cross section of the bands 4 when rolling up is not absolutely necessary. In this flat state, a greater stress is generated on the inner surface 9 of the band 4 than on the outer surface 8. However, perpendicular to the illustrated cross-section, the stresses on the inner surface 9 and on the outer surface 8 are substantially equal, so that the straight shape is assumed ,

Each band 4 is assigned its own reeling mechanism 15, as shown in the plan view Fig. 2 is apparent. In this case, each Aufrollmechanik 15 is formed in the manner known from the prior art of roll-up metal measuring tapes, which can be drawn when not in use, for example by means of spring force in a housing and rolled up there.

One way to increase the functionality of the lamp, is to form the support strut 2 pivotally against the horizontal. For this purpose, a pivoting device 13 is arranged in the lamp base 1, on which the two Aufrollmechaniken 15 of the two bands 4 are jointly stored, so that the bands 4 can be pivoted jointly in its extended position about a horizontal axis of rotation P. Preferably, the pivoting device 13 is designed to be self-locking, so that the support strut 2 is held regardless of its extension length in each angle position desired by the user. The pivoting device is out of the FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 seen.

Each Aufrollmechanik 15 in turn comprises a rotatably mounted shaft 10, on each of which a tape 4 can be rolled up, as from Fig. 4 is apparent. In this case, each band 4 is mechanically biased against its extension direction by means of a force acting on the respective shaft 10 spring (not shown). At the same time, each roll-up mechanism 15 is designed to be self-locking, such that each band 4 is mechanically locked in any extension state desired by the user.

Furthermore, each Aufrollmechanik 15 each comprises a forming region 5, as in Fig. 4 indicated schematically. When the support strut 2 is withdrawn, the forming region 5 ensures the forming of the strips 4 from the straight-line cross-section Fig. 6 in an arcuate cross-section, for example according to Fig. 5 or 7 and when driving in the support strut 2 for the forming of the bands 4 of an arcuate in a rectilinear cross-section.

Furthermore, both Aufrollmechaniken 15, which are arranged in a common plane next to each other, jointly mounted on a pivoting device 13, whose functionality has already been described above. This pivoting device 13 is rotatably mounted on the formation of the axis of rotation P on a shaft 11, which in turn is rotatably connected to the housing of the light socket 1.

Im Folgenden wird die Funktionsweise der oben beschriebenen Leuchte kurz erläutert:The operation of the luminaire described above is briefly explained below:

The support strut 2 is at least as far as its part extended from the lamp base 1 part, designed to be variable in length. By applying a manual force in the longitudinal direction of the support strut 2, this can either push into the light socket 1, so that the lower ends of the bands 4 roll around the shaft 10, which is rotatably mounted in the lamp base 1. In addition, the support strut 2 can be pulled out to extend. This is indicated by the double arrow in Fig. 1 shown. The angle of the support strut 2 against the horizontal is variable by the user, as in Fig. 1 indicated by the dashed double arrow.

Fig. 9 Finally, Figure 3 shows various alternative band configurations of two and more bands 4 of arcuate cross-section to form the support strut 2. In this regard, the figure may be seen as the "back-to-back" configuration of Figs Fig. 5 can be further developed for configurations with three or four bands 4, in which the bands 4 are in turn at least at one point mechanically connected to at least one adjacent band 4.
