Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a low-yellowing decorative film for coating a carrier part, in particular a component of an automobile or a piece of furniture, with a layer composite consisting of at least a barrier layer and a decorative layer, wherein the layer composite is produced by coextrusion.
Decorative films are basically known from practice. These are usually thermoformed and then laminated with a carrier part by means of adhesive. Furthermore, it is known to use foam-forming processes to achieve haptically soft surfaces, so that thermoformed films or so-called molded skins are connected to the carrier part via a soft foam. As foams aromatic polyurethane systems have basically proven. However, these foams are unstable to light and tend to yellow. The substances responsible for the yellowing can migrate into the decorative layer, which leads to disadvantageous discoloration of the decorative layer.
The invention is therefore based on the technical problem of specifying a decorative film, in particular for use in the automotive sector and / or in the furniture sector, which is characterized by a flawless appearance and does not tend to yellowing.
To solve the technical problem, the invention teaches a low-yellowing decorative film for coating a carrier part, which is characterized the barrier layer consists essentially of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH), and / or a polyamide and / or a mixture of an EVOH and a polyamide. Preferably, the EVOH has an ethylene content of from 24 to 48 mol%, preferably from 30 to 38 mol%. Advantageously, the polyamide is an amorphous polyamide, preferably a PA61 / 6T. For example, PA61 / 6T is sold under the brand name Selar® by DuPont. It is within the scope of the invention that an underside of the barrier layer is laminated onto the carrier part by means of an adhesive. According to a preferred embodiment, a foam plastic, recommended a polyurethane foam plastic or foam is arranged between the carrier part and the decorative film. The decorative film is then connected with the interposition of the foam plastic with the carrier part. The decorative layer is expediently arranged on an upper side of the barrier layer.
