Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of foldable tents, and more particularly a foldable tent structure, formed of a plurality of armature sections, and the tent comprising a fabric fixed to this frame.
  • the tents consist of an armature on which comes to rest or which is hung a cover element such as a canvas or a tarpaulin.
  • tent structures comprising an armature unfolding around a central mast, which may be inconvenient depending on the desired use of the tent, or other structures which have a top part of the type umbrella, reinforced by springs connecting the upper part and the lateral uprights to prevent damage during a gust for example or even sanitary tent structures with curved amounts in their upper part and rotatably mounted around a vertical axis so as to form, in the deployed state, the frame for supporting the roof of the tent, but the latter structures have very poor wind stability ( WO2008 / 004953 ).
  • the purpose of the present invention is therefore to overcome the disadvantages of existing tent structures and to propose a tent deploying easily and quickly, easy to fold and which is compact for storage and transport.
  • This structure should, in addition, have good wind resistance.
  • the present invention relates to a foldable tent structure comprising the assembly of a plurality of curved half-arches and interconnected in their upper part in a general radiating arrangement so as to form, in the deployed state, the frame supporting the canvas of the tent, and folding against each other for the storage of the frame, characterized in that each half-hoop is composed on the one hand of at least one lower section, and on the other hand of an upper section splitting into two branches moving away from one another to their distal ends and held apart so as to form a lower arch and an upper arch arranged one below the other, the distal ends of the branches of the half-arches, said pivoting half-arches, being pivotally mounted on a pair of connecting plates, arranged at the top of the structure, about distinct vertical axes of rotation and spaced from each other, at least two spacers being disposed between the plates of said pair of plates on two of said axes of rotation, so as to maintain spaced apart said branches of the half-arches, the lower sections of the half-arches each
  • this retaining element may advantageously be a retaining element referred to as "retaining element common to all the half-arches", connecting the set of lower ends of the lower sections of the half-arches.
  • retaining element common to all the half-arches such as a floor mat of the tent disposed, in the expanded state of the frame, between the lower sections of the half-arches.
  • the floor mat may not occupy the entire surface between the lower portions of the half-arches, and be associated, permanently or not, with at least one strap (preferably from the center of said floor mat ) attaching it to at least one lower end of a lower section of a half-hoop, for the final attachment of said floor mat after deployment of the frame.
  • the retaining element is a rigid rectilinear element whose first end is connected to said lower section, and a second end is connected to a lower connection plate disposed at the base of the structure. , in line with said pair of connecting plates, said retaining element being pivotally mounted about axes located in the extensions of the axes of rotation of the upper branches of the pivoting half-bars, the retaining elements of the assembly half-arches and the lower connecting plate forming, in the expanded state, the base of the armature intended to rest on the ground.
  • the retaining element is a flexible rectilinear element, of strap type, of which a first end is connected to said lower section and a second end is connected to a central, preferably flexible, connection node arranged, in the deployed state, substantially vertically above said pair of connecting plates, the set of flexible retaining elements forming the base of the armature intended to rest on the ground.
  • spacers are arranged between the plates of said pair of connecting plates according to each of said axes of rotation.
  • the structure according to the invention does not comprise a central mast, but only a plurality of spacers that keep apart the arches of the half-arches of the frame and around which are articulated to rotate these half-arches.
  • This arrangement substantially corresponding to a triangle (one side is constituted by said spacer and whose vertices are the points of connection between it and the upper and lower arches and the point of division of these two arches) considerably stiffens the upper part of the frame and strengthens its stability by preventing the half -cars do not twist and go "spin" when unfolding the frame.
  • the half-arches are made of flexible material, preferably aluminum, fiberglass, or carbon fiber.
  • the structure does not have a spring connecting or reinforcing the sections between them.
  • the frame also does not have a troublesome central mast for certain activities or uses of the tent.
  • This flexibility of the half-arches allows both bending for storage and in their deployed position to withstand the effects of wind or other external forces acting on the frame.
  • each hinge in the lower section or between the lower and upper sections of each half-hoop; and these lower and upper sections of each half-hoop are hinged together to facilitate the folding of the frame and reduce its size.
  • This joint can be in the form of an anti-pinch hinge to prevent the fabric from getting stuck in the latter.
  • articulation allows freedom of rotation less than or equal to about 180 degrees so that the lower and upper sections of the half-roll bar in the deployed state are substantially straight.
  • the half-length of the common ground-type retaining element is less than the length of the half-arches to which it is connected or the length of each rectilinear element, flexible or rigid, is advantageously less than the length of the associated half-arch allowing, when laying on the ground of the base of the armature (that is to say of the common retaining element or said rectilinear elements in a general radiating arrangement around the central link node or the lower link board) the automatic unfolding and instantaneous said half-arches upward to form the roof frame of the tent, and maintaining the curvature of the half-arches in the deployed state.
  • the rectilinear retaining elements may be in the form of straps or in the form of rigid rods, for example in the form of flat rods, preferably aluminum, fiberglass or carbon fiber, forming the legs of the half -arceaux to which they are articulated at the respective lower portions of said half-arches. These legs fit easily under the tent floor mat.
  • the articulation between the base and the lower section of each half-arch can be achieved by means of a hinge-type rigid joint or by means of a link, preferably in the form of a flexible band or straps, whose ends are secured respectively to the base and said lower section of the half-arch, so as to allow, for the storage of the armature, after grouping the half-arches, the fold of the legs against the lower sections of all the half-hoops grouped together.
  • said axes of rotation are evenly distributed at the periphery of the plates connecting, so as to position said parallel upper portions between them and said legs parallel to each other, preferably without overlapping, during the folding of the armature.
  • each leg of the half-arches is equipped with at least one intermediate hinge, preferably arranged at mid-length of the legs, so that, in the grouped state of the legs, the latter are arranged parallel to each other to allow their withdrawal by means of said intermediate hinge, the first and second ends of the legs being then close to one another.
  • the structure comprises at least one additional half-hoop, secured to each of said connecting plates, the pivoting half-arches being, in the grouped state of the half-arches, preferably arranged on both sides of said fixed half-hoop.
  • This fixed half-bar constitutes an element for stiffening and aligning, in the deployed state of the structure, the pair of connecting plates of the vertex with the lower connecting plate.
  • it can serve as a reference element, for the folding of the structure, the grouping of pivoting half-arches.
  • the present invention also relates to a tent comprising a structure as described above, and a first covering element, such as a canvas or tarpaulin, fixed at several attachment points at least to each of the upper arches and / or or at least each of the lower sections of the half-arches, constituting the roof of the tent, and possibly at least one second element of the type of net or mosquito net, fixed inside the structure, at least to each of the lower arches half-arches, forming the walls of at least one inner chamber of the tent.
  • a first covering element such as a canvas or tarpaulin
  • the figure 1 shows an overview of a foldable tent structure 1 consisting of a plurality of half-arches 2 curved and interconnected in their upper part and in their lower part by their rigid extensions forming here the legs of the structure .
  • These half-arches and legs are pivotally arranged on connecting plates 24, 34 and 44, substantially horizontal and parallel to each other, and constitute, in the deployed state in a general radiating arrangement around these plates as shown on the figure 1 , the frame of the tent.
  • the half-hoops and legs are rotatable around a plurality (here 4) of axes A1, A2, A3 and A4 schematized on the figures 1 and 3 . These axes are distinct and separated from each other.
  • a rope-type link 11 limiting their respective spacing.
  • a connection link 10 associated with a hook 12 is provided between the end legs 8A and 8B, as visible on the figure 1 .
  • the cord-type connection may be alternatively fixed between the upper sections of the half-arches to limit their relative spacing.
  • Each half-hoop 2 of flexible material consists on the one hand of at least one lower section 3, for example in the form of a tubular element, substantially rectilinear or slightly curved, and on the other hand, of a section upper 4 curved dividing into two branches that deviate from each other towards their distal end.
  • These two branches are held apart by means of a plurality of spacers 7 arranged here along all the vertical axes of rotation of the half-arches, so as to constitute an upper arch 5 and a lower arch 6 arranged one to below the other, the lower arch 6 of a half-arch being disposed vertically above the upper arch 5 of the same half-arch.
  • connection link 10 connecting (in the example shown in FIG. figure 1 ) the two adjacent legs 8A and 8B and group the different legs against each other around the axes of rotation, this also involving the rotation of the half-arches around these axes. It is also possible to place the connection link higher, between two half-arches.
  • the legs 8 are folded against said lower sections of the half-arches thanks to the articulation 9 made by means of a link, for example a flexible link 19, as shown in FIG. Figure 6A , or a U-shaped hinge, as shown in Figure 6B .
  • a link for example a flexible link 19, as shown in FIG. Figure 6A , or a U-shaped hinge, as shown in Figure 6B .
  • the branches of the upper section 4 of the half-arches 2 being flexible, they straighten during the folding of the frame, but it is possible to bend them for the final storage of the frame.
  • the structure described above is the frame of the tent.
  • the half-arches can be made in tubular form or in the form of slats.
  • a first covering element such as a canvas or tarpaulin can be fixed at several points at least to each of the upper arches 5 of the half-arches of the frame, so as to form the roof of the tent (above or below). below said frame).
  • a second cover element of mosquito net or canvas type, fixed inside the structure to at least several of the lower arches 6 of the half-arches and also to an eyelet 25 (such as that visible on figures 2 , 3 and 7 ) to form the walls of a mosquito net or one or more inner chambers of said tent (not shown in the figures).
  • the spacing formed between the upper arches 5 and lower 6 allows to arrange between the roof cloths and inner chambers or the mosquito net, a volume of insulating air.
  • a double-roof fabric and mosquito net assembly is fixed below the arches 2, the double-roof fabric being attached by cords or straps, preferably elastic, to the frame (end of legs 8, arches 2 and arches 5, 6).
  • each half-arch 2 consists of a lower section 3 and an upper section 4 located, in the deployed state of the frame, in the extension of one another and articulated by means of a hinge-type articulation 14 or 114, examples of which are respectively represented on the figures 5 and 9 .
  • the lower 3 and upper 4 sections are integral with pivoting parts, 33.35 respectively housed between two flanges 30, 31 forming a protective casing.
  • Said pieces 33, 35 are movable in rotation about axes orthogonal to the flanges 30, 31.
  • the shape and arrangement of the parts 33, 35 are such that they come, in the deployed state, in abutment against each other and against the upper central rivet 36 (see figure 5 ) so as to limit the opening, according to the arrows F of the sections 3 and 4 of the outside EXT inward INT of the frame, at an angle of approximately 180 °. That is to say that in the expanded state of the structure, the sections 3 and 4 of said half-arches are substantially aligned.
  • the lower and upper sections 3 and 4 are pivotally mounted between two flanges 130, 131 integral with a semicylindrical guard 150.
  • the ends 133, 134 of this casing 150 protruding from the flanges 130, 131 form abutments respectively of the lower 3 and upper 4 sections of the half-arches allowing, in the deployed state, said sections to be arranged substantially in the extension of one another.
  • a transverse complementary abutment (whose location 151 is schematized in dashed lines on the figure 9 ) can be formed in the casing 150 and supporting the ends of the sections 3 and 4 in their substantially aligned position.
  • the folded frame is thus very compact and can be easily housed in a tubular bag or housing for example, less than one meter long.
  • each leg 8 half-arch 2 at least one intermediate joint 18 disposed, preferably mid-length of the base 8, dividing the latter into two parts, a first portion 21 on the side of the first end of the base, that is to say at the end connected to the lower section 3 of the half-hoop 2, and a second portion 22 disposed between said intermediate hinge 18 and the second end of the base 8.
  • This variant makes it possible to fold the frame even more compactly thanks to a smaller footprint of the folded legs, the parts 21 and 22 of these legs being found one above the other in the folded state as shown on the figure 7 .
  • Said intermediate joint 18 may be in the form of a rigid hinge or a flexible link such as the hinge 9, shown in FIG. Figure 6A between the lower section 3 of the half-hoop 2 and the base 8.
  • the connecting plates 24, 34 and 44 are preferably flat elements, the general shape of which may be a half-crown, a flared U or, as here, an approximate W-shape, the connecting zones, in the form of pivots, half-arches to said plates are regularly distributed at the periphery of these plates, so as to allow an arrangement, in the grouped state, half-arches parallel to each other: the upper and lower branches, and the legs, thus finding, as schematized in the figure 7 , superimposed, parallel to each other, and preferably without overlapping, that is to say slightly apart from each other.
  • Such an arrangement has the advantage of allowing their easy folding by avoiding to trap the tent or mosquito net between them.
  • the half-arches of the armature according to the present invention are five in number, including a fixed half-arch 32, which is secured by means of two rivets to the three connecting plates, here in the center of the W-shaped, so as to fold the four half-arcs rotating on either side thereof, two on each side, parallel to the latter.
  • At least one of the sections of each half-hoop is in the form of a tubular element in two parts 51, 52 adjustable relative to each other, the end of the first portion 51 being equipped with a tip 53 slidably housed inside the second tubular portion 52 allowing the adjustment of the length according to the stress of tension during deployment or folding of the armature (as shown schematically in FIG. the figure 8 ).
  • This tent structure folds and unfolds in a few seconds and its overall size is significantly less than that of the tents of the state of the art, in particular the self-expanding tent described in the patent.
  • EP-B-1 697 604 is significantly less than that of the tents of the state of the art, in particular the self-expanding tent described in the patent.
