Description

The present invention relates to heating installations comprising a wood-burning appliance (type stove or insert), a building outlet, and a chimney duct interposed between the two.

To achieve this supply of combustion air, a known solution for gas or oil-burning appliances consists in using a juxtaposition of pipe sections each composed of two concentric tubes:
  1. (i) a central, defined by an outer surface and an inner surface defining a central chamber for evacuation of the combustion products generated by the heater, and
  2. (ii) another peripheral, delimited by an outer surface and an inner surface, in which is housed said central tube, to define, between them, an annular peripheral chamber for supplying combustion air to the heating apparatus .
The lower ends of these two central and peripheral tubes have extensions for their respective connection in upper and lower parts of the furnace hearth; and their upper ends open at the associated building exit.

However, for wood heaters, there is a risk of formation and accumulation of bistre in the central tube, which may limit the ability of the pipe to evacuate the combustion products and up to the shutter total of this central tube, this risk being a function of the fuel used (nature of the wood, moisture characteristics ...) and ventilation of the device applied by the user.
On the other hand, the flue gas temperatures of such wood-burning appliances are high, and these fumes may be able to disrupt their supply of combustion air.

Therefore the current ducts mentioned above are not applicable to wood burning appliances.

A solution to these problems is described in the document US-2010/0108052 .

The corresponding heating installation comprises a heating appliance and a building outlet connected by a connecting duct extending over two floors.

On the height of the ground floor, the section of this connecting pipe comprises a central tube and a peripheral tube between which is formed an annular chamber for supplying combustion air to the heating apparatus; the central tube is isolated from the combustion air supply chamber by an air gap or an insulation.

Above, from the floor separating the ground floor from the first floor, the central tube extends to the building exit, and an off-center duct, independent, makes the connection between said building outlet and said annular chamber, for the supply of the latter in fresh combustion air.

But such a solution is relatively complex to implement because it is necessary, in the first place, to set up the flue and its output, and then to put the off-center air duct, which does not. is not easy to achieve, especially at the floor crossing.

In addition, the off-center duct serving to supply combustion air to the heating appliance, has its outlet under the roof or outside, in a zone relatively remote from the outlet of the products of combustion, or close to it. but not in a concentric way. However, such configurations for the combustion air intake cause significant pressure differences between the entry of air and the outlet of fumes due to the effect of wind on the building, which can prevent the operation of the device combustion and alter the correct evacuation of fumes (risk of backflow).

  2. (ii) un tube périphérique au sein duquel est logé ledit tube central, lequel tube périphérique est délimité par une surface extérieure et par une surface intérieure, ledit tube central et ledit tube périphérique définissant entre eux une chambre périphérique, pour l'alimentation en air comburant dudit appareil de chauffage à bois, les extrémités inférieures desdits tubes central et périphérique comportant des prolongements pour leur raccordement respectif en parties supérieure et inférieure du foyer dudit appareil de chauffage à bois ;
en outre, la surface extérieure dudit tube central est revêtue d'une couche de matériau isolant délimitée par une surface intérieure en appui sur la surface extérieure dudit tube central, et par une surface extérieure située à distance de la surface intérieure dudit tube périphérique, pour former ladite chambre périphérique ;
To overcome these drawbacks, the present invention proposes a heating installation comprising a wood-burning appliance, such as a stove or insert, comprising a combustion chamber, a building outlet, and a connection duct between the two, which leads comprises:
  1. (i) a central tube defined by an outer surface, and an inner surface defining a central chamber for evacuation of the combustion products generated by said wood burning appliance, and
  2. (ii) a peripheral tube in which is housed said central tube, which peripheral tube is delimited by an outer surface and an inner surface, said central tube and said peripheral tube defining between them a peripheral chamber for the supply of air the oxidizer of said wood burning appliance, the lower ends of said central and peripheral tubes including extensions for their respective connection in upper and lower portions of the hearth of said wood burning appliance;
in addition, the outer surface of said central tube is coated with a layer of insulating material delimited by an inner surface resting on the outer surface of said central tube, and by an outer surface located at a distance from the inner surface of said peripheral tube, for forming said peripheral chamber;
and in accordance with the present invention, said building outlet comprises a side wall belt associated with an upper closure plate in which is provided an opening for the passage of the end of the central tube of said connecting conduit, said layer of insulating material said duct extending to below said closure plate; in addition -the inner face of said wall belt has means for fixing said peripheral tube of said duct, -the upper end of this peripheral tube extends at a distance from the underside of said closure plate, and -au at least one opening is provided in said belt walls, to ensure the entry of fresh air into the volume defined by said belt walls.

Such a conduit structure, with an insulating inner layer which extends over its entire height, avoids, or at least substantially limits, the formation of bistre in the central tube, this by limiting the condensation phenomena within this tube. In addition, this internal insulation limits the heat exchange between the combustion products and the combustion air gap, which prevents this peripheral air space from rising in temperature, and which makes it possible to optimize its size, for a supply correct combustion air of the heater.

In addition, the implementation of the system is relatively simple, with a concentric conduit from the bottom up, and a single roof outlet for air and fumes.

The air intake is advantageously provided all around the roof outlet and is close enough to the outlet of the fumes so that the effect of the wind between the inlet and the outlet is canceled, which allows an optimal operation of the roof. the heater.

According to a preferred embodiment, the outer surface of the layer of insulating material rests against the inner surface of a holding tube, the outer surface of which defines said peripheral chamber with the inner surface of the peripheral tube, which retaining tube is mechanically linked, on the one hand with the central tube and on the other hand with the peripheral tube.

These duct sections each comprise an upper edge and a lower edge and they are connected together in a sealed manner; in addition, they comprise a tube for holding the layer of insulating material which is secured to the central tube and to the peripheral tube by means of a plurality of welded spacer tabs distributed over the periphery of said upper edge and said border lower.

In a preferred embodiment, said spacer tabs formed at the upper edge of the pipe sections consist of one-piece metal plates provided with three wings parallel to the bracket for their joining by welding with the central tube, the peripheral tube and the holding tube; on the other hand, said spacer tabs formed at the lower edge of the pipe sections consist of one-piece metal plates provided with two wings parallel to the bracket for their joining by welding with the peripheral tube and with the holding tube.

According to a particular embodiment, the lower extension of the central tube consists of a metal pipe extending vertically concentrically to said central tube, to the upper part of the furnace hearth; the peripheral chamber comprises closure means at its lower end, and the lower extension of this peripheral chamber consists of a metal pipe -whose upper section is connected to an opening in the wall of said peripheral tube, the section of which median extends vertically, non-concentrically to said central tube, and whose terminal section is connected to the lower part of the furnace hearth.

According to another embodiment, the lower extension of the central tube consists of a metal pipe-whose upper section is connected to an opening in the wall of the central tube, and whose lower section extends vertically to the upper portion of the furnace hearth, said central tube having closure means formed below the level of said connection opening of said lower extension; furthermore, the peripheral chamber comprises closing means, formed under the level of said closing means of said central tube, which closure means of said peripheral chamber comprise an opening, centered on the axis of said central tube, for the connection of said lower extension said peripheral chamber which consists of a metal pipe whose upper section extends vertically to a terminal section coming to connect at the lower part of the furnace hearth.

According to yet another embodiment, the lower extension of the central tube consists of a metal pipe connected to an opening in the wall of the central tube, which pipe extends horizontally to the upper part of the furnace hearth. heating, said central tube having closure means, below the level of said connection opening of said horizontal extension; in addition, the peripheral chamber comprises closing means, formed below the level of said means for closing said central tube, which closure means of said peripheral chamber comprise an opening centered on the axis of said central tube for the connection of said lower extension of said peripheral chamber, the latter consisting of a metal pipe whose upper section extends vertically to a terminal section coming to connect at the lower part of the furnace hearth.

In the context of these last two embodiments, the peripheral tube is advantageously extended downwards, below the level of its closure means, by a dressing jacket, within which is housed at least the vertical section of said extension. lower peripheral chamber, which dressing shirt has a first lower opening adapted for the passage of the end portion of said lower extension of the peripheral chamber, and a second lower opening, adapted for mounting said end portion of extension.

On the other hand, in the side wall belt, the distance between the upper end of the peripheral tube and the bottom face of the closure plate is advantageously between 40 and 60 cm.

The upper ends 24 and lower 25 of the pipe section 2b are adapted to allow sealing engagement of the different juxtaposed pipe sections.
During this interlocking, the flat 27 of the spacer tabs 26 of an underlying section bears, or substantially in support, against the lower end of the layer of insulating material 13 of the section located directly above.
The corresponding interlock is locked in conventional manner by means of clamps 35.

This building outlet 3 comprises a belt of side walls 36 whose upper end comprises a closure plate 37 provided with a central opening 38 and surmounted by a rain cap 39.

The end section of duct 2c is fixed to the wall belt 36 by means of connecting means 40 adapted (which connect the inner face of the wall belt 36 and the outer face of the peripheral tube 10).
In addition, the upper end of the central tube 7 passes through the opening 38 (whose sections are identical, with the game), via a suitable sleeve; and this upper tube end protrudes slightly beyond the top face of the closure plate 37.
At this point, the layer of insulating material 13 and its holding tube 14 extend to below the closure plate 37; more specifically, the upper end of the layer of insulating material 13 comes into contact or substantially in contact with the underside of the closure plate 37. The thermal bridges are thus eliminated at the upper end of the central tube 7 , which makes it possible to very substantially limit the phenomena of condensation and bistrage in the upper part of this central tube 7 (these phenomena may cause corrosion likely, in the event of a breakthrough, to cause a flue gas suction via the intake channel. combustion air).
On its side, the upper end 41 of the peripheral tube 10 extends away from the closure plate 37, so that the upper opening of the annular chamber 19 does not encounter any obstacle for the removal of combustion air within the volume of the building outlet 3, and thus to limit the pressure drops within this chamber 19. The distance between the upper end 41 of the peripheral tube 10 and the underside of the the closure plate 37 may be between 40 and 60 cm; it is advantageously of the order of 50 cm.

In addition at least one opening 42 is provided in the wall belt 36 to ensure the entry of fresh air within its internal volume.
This opening 42 is formed between the upper end of the wall belt 36 and the closure plate 37. More specifically, this closure plate 37 is mounted on the end of the wall belt 36 by means of tabs ( not visible on the figure 2 ), regularly distributed; these tabs allow to slightly spread the plate 37 of the upper end edge of the belt 36, to obtain the desired opening 42 (which is here peripheral).
The orientation arrow 42 'on the figure 2 , shows the passage of fresh air from outside, in the internal volume of the wall belt 36, for feeding the annular chamber 19.

In use, such a heating installation, with the central tube 7 of the duct 2 externally insulated by the insulating layer 13, limits or even prevents the formation of condensation on the inner wall 9 of said tube 7, which greatly limits the possibility of bistre training.

In the embodiment of the figure 1 the vertical duct 2 is placed in line with the heating apparatus 1 and extends co-axially to the outlet orifice 5 of the combustion products, formed in the top face of the hearth 4.
The lower extension 21 of the central tube 7 (and of the central chamber 9 ') consists of a metal pipe which extends vertically and concentrically to said central tube 7, to the orifice 5.
On its side, the lower extension 22 of the peripheral tube 10 (and the peripheral chamber 19) extends downwards, on the side of the heater 1. extension 22 consists of a metal pipe of which the upper section 22 a is connected to an opening 43 formed in the wall of peripheral tube 10; this upper portion 22 a extends downwardly through a vertical median section 22 b, which extends itself by an end section 22 c bent, which is to be connected to the orifice 6 provided in the underside of the hearth 4 .
At the lower end of the peripheral tube 10, below the level of the opening 43, the peripheral annular chamber 19 comprises closure means 44.
Under these closing means 44, it is noted that the peripheral tube 10 extends, to the top face of the heater 1, by a liner 45. This liner 45 is concentric to the extension 21 of the central tube 7; it acts as an element of dressing and protection.
In the upper part of the jacket 45, the presence of ventilation openings 46 is noted.

The figure 7 illustrates a possible alternative embodiment, wherein the vertical duct 2 is placed on the rear of the heater 1.
Here, the lower extension 21 'of the central tube 7 consists of a metal pipe comprising - an upper section 21' is connected to an opening 47 formed in the wall of said central tube 7, and - a lower section 21 'b which extends vertically, in line with the upper orifice 5 of the hearth 4, to connect to this orifice 5.
The central tube 7 comprises closure means 48, formed below the level of the connection opening 47.
For its part, the peripheral tube 10, and the associated annular chamber 19, also comprise closure means 49, below the level of the aforementioned closure means 48 of the central tube 7; and these closure means 49 comprise a central opening 50 (centered on the axis of the duct 2), for the connection of the lower extension 22 'of the tube 10 and the peripheral chamber 19.
This extension 22 'consists of a metal pipe whose upper section 22' has extends vertically, directly above the pipe 2, followed by an end section 22 ' b bent, which is connected to the orifice 6 formed in the underside of the fireplace 4.

This sleeve 51 extends co-axially to the peripheral tube 10, under its closure means 49; it is in the form of a vertical tube, preferably metal, in which is housed the upper vertical section 22 'a of the extension 22 (and part of the end portion 22' b).
At its upper end the liner 51 has ventilation openings 52. At its lower end, it comprises a first opening 53 adapted for the passage of the bent end portion 22 ' b of the extension 22 ', and a second opening 54, for mounting this end portion 22'b (in particular for accessibility to the connection clamps of some of its constituent sections).
The second opening 54 is preferably arranged diametrically opposite to the first opening 53.

This jacket 51 serves to protect the air tube 22 'and form a ground support for the conduit 2; it also improves the aesthetics of the installation.

The figure 8 illustrates yet another possible embodiment, wherein the vertical duct 2 is placed on the rear of the heater 1.

This extension 22 "consists of a metal pipe whose upper portion 22" has extends vertically, directly above the duct 2, followed by an end section 22 "b bent, which is connected to the orifice 6 formed in the underside of the fireplace 4.

At its upper end the jacket 59 has ventilation openings 60. At its lower end, it comprises a first opening 61 adapted for the passage of the bent end portion 22 " b of the extension 22", as well as a second opening 62, allowing the mounting of this end portion 22 " b (in particular for accessibility to the connection clamps of some of its constituent sections).
The second opening 62 is preferably arranged diametrically opposite to the first opening 61.
