Das Kanalverschlussmittel 1g ist als Ventilkörper eines Einweg-Ventils, hier eines Kugelventils, ausgebildet. Dabei ist am Auslassende des Siphons 5 ein Abschnitt 2a des Abtauwasserkanals vorgesehen, an dessen unterem Ende durch eine Verengung ein Ventilsitz 22 ausgebildet ist. Auf diesem liegt ein kugelförmiger Ventilkörper 1g aus einem zumindest teilweise wasserlöslichen Material. Dadurch wird verhindert, dass Luft aus der Umgebung entgegen der Fließ-richtung F des Abtauwassers in den Innenraum des Kühlgeräts bzw. den Verdampfer eindringen kann. Anders herum kann jedoch die durch in den Siphon 5 einströmendes Abtauwasser verdrängte Luft nach außen entweichen. Steigt das Wasser in dem Siphon 5 höher, löst sich die Kugel 1g auf. Der Abschnitt 2a des Abtauwasserkanals kann z. B. mit dem Siphon 5 verpresst oder auf andere Art verbunden werden. Alternativ kann das Abtauwasserrohr 2 auch bei dieser Ausführungsform einstückig ausgebildet sein. Ferner kann das durch den Ventilsitz 222 und den Ventilkörper 1g gebildete Einweg-Ventil anstatt eines Kugelventils auch als Tellerventil bzw. Scheibenventil ausgebildet sein.
