Die Abscheidekammer weist einen im Vergleich zur Kammeröffnung des Innenraums erweiterten Strömungsquerschnitt auf, wodurch die Flüssigkeit durch die Abscheidekammer mit einer für den Abscheidevorgang günstigen, d.h. verlangsamten Geschwindigkeit pro Querschnittsflächeneinheit strömt. Der erfindungsgemäße Abscheider kann in beiden Richtungen durchströmt werden.
