Definitions
- the invention relates to a display device for climbing walls according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- handles For climbing walls, a variety of handles are bolted to a wall. By arranging the handles on the wall, one or more climbing routes can be defined. As a rule, the handles of each route are colored in a specific color. For each of these routes, the respective degree of difficulty can be specified. In such climbing walls, it is common to change the arrangement of the handles from time to time to increase the attractiveness of the climbing wall for the user. Such changes are relatively expensive. In particular, it sometimes becomes necessary to replace handles solely for their color if it no longer matches the new configuration of the routes.
- the LEDs can be used to mark climbing routes.
- different climbing routes can be individually configured and displayed by activating the associated light-emitting diodes.
- a disadvantage of these illuminable climbing holds is that due to the required transparency restrictions on the material of the climbing holds must be accepted, and that for the power supply of the LEDs additional holes must be drilled in the wall through which the cables can be pulled. It is also known, alternatively, to ensure the power supply of a light-emitting diode in the climbing grip by a built-in this climbing grip battery.
- this solution has the disadvantage that the batteries must be regularly replaced or recharged that with each handle additionally a switch must be installed, and that the individual LEDs can not be controlled by a common parent control.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows a longitudinal section of an arrangement with a climbing handle (henceforth called handle 1), which is fastened by means of a fastening sleeve 3 to a base plate 5 of a climbing wall.
- a fastening sleeve 3 In the region of the rear end of the base plate 5 penetrating mounting hole 7 is a press-in nut 9 rotatably connected to the base plate 5.
- Mounting sleeve 3 includes an external thread and is screwed into the Einpressmutter 9 so far that its frontmost section projects beyond the base plate 5.
- the handle 1 also includes a through hole 11. It is pushed onto the mounting sleeve 3 so that its rear side 13 rests against the base plate 5, and that the foremost portion of the mounting sleeve 3 extends axially beyond the front end of the bore 11.
- a nut 15 from the front onto the mounting sleeve 3
- a lock nut can be used (not shown).
- a recess in the handle 1 is formed coaxially to the bore 11 from the front side, such that the nut 15 - as in FIG. 1 shown - at the front end of the bore 11 is present at an annular shoulder 17.
- the illumination device 19 comprises a luminous means 21, preferably a light-emitting diode, and is part of a display device for marking handles 1 in a climbing wall.
- the lighting devices 19 can be connected via an interface, preferably via a connector 23, with a higher-level control (not shown). Each of the lighting means 21 can be switched on and off controlled by this control.
- the supply of the luminous means 21 preferably takes place via the contacts of the connection interface directly from the controller.
- each of the lighting devices 19 could each include an autonomous power source, such as a replaceable or rechargeable battery (not shown).
- the illumination device 19 comprises an optical waveguide arrangement 25 with at least one light guide or a bundle of light-conducting fibers, which are arranged within the tubular jacket of the fastening sleeve 3.
- the rear end of the light guide is adjacent to the light source 21 so that the light of this light source 21 can be coupled optimally into the light guide.
- the Bulb 21 is screwed in a sleeve-like bulb holder 22 with an internal thread at the rear end of the mounting sleeve 3 or secured in any other way.
- the front ends of the light guides project beyond the front end of the fastening sleeve 3.
- the front end of the light guide or the light guide is chamfered or convex or concave, so that light can be coupled out in a large solid angle and is visible from different directions.
- the front end faces of the light guides or a scattering means (not shown) arranged upstream of them can also be made opaque, so that the light incident from the light source 21 is scattered into a large solid angle.
- the illumination device 19 is a light emitting diode or generally the light emitting means 21 arranged at the front end of the mounting sleeve 3.
- the light-emitting diode can be inserted, for example, from the front in a front-side cutout on the mounting sleeve 3 and held by a pressed-clamping ring 27 at this.
- the contacts of the light emitting diode are connected via a connecting cable or via a conductor arrangement 29 directly to the connector plug 23, wherein the cable by a on the rear end of the Mounting sleeve 3 screwed end cap 31 is passed with a cable feedthrough.
- a lighting electronics may be formed between the connector plug 23 and the lighting means 21.
- this lighting electronics is designed so that a plurality of lighting devices 19 can be connected via a bus with the parent control.
- the individual lighting devices 19 can be addressed directly via the bus. Newly added lighting devices can be automatically detected by the controller. The configuration of new climbing routes and the detection of any defects are greatly simplified.
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section of a further arrangement, wherein the handle 1 comprises a visible in the mounted state from the outside translucent area 33 with a recess 35 open to the rear for insertion of the LED or the lighting means 21.
- the recess 35 is connected by a recessed from the back in the handle 1 connecting channel 37 with the bore 11.
- the fastening sleeve 3 comprises a longitudinal slot 39 which is open toward the front end and whose depth may be, for example, about 1 cm to about half the total length of the fastening sleeve 3.
- the illumination device 19, which comprises the conductor arrangement 29 with the lighting means 21 and the connection plug 23, is preferably already mounted with the end cap 31 on the fastening sleeve 3. Thereafter, the connecting cable or the conductor assembly 29 is guided through the longitudinal slot 39, that the light source 21 comes to rest when mounting the handle 1 on the mounting sleeve 3 in the recess 35 of the handle 1. Before or after tightening the handle 1 to the mounting sleeve 3 with the nut 15, the front opening of the mounting sleeve 3 is closed by a plug or end cover 41.
- the connection can be made for example by a screw cap. Alternatively, any other connection means are possible.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a display device for climbing walls according to the preamble of
For climbing walls, a variety of handles are bolted to a wall.

In a variety of such handles used in the recesses LEDs from a controller individually switched on and off. Instead of the handle color, the LEDs can be used to mark climbing routes. In a given arrangement of the handles on the climbing wall accordingly different climbing routes can be individually configured and displayed by activating the associated light-emitting diodes.
A disadvantage of these illuminable climbing holds is that due to the required transparency restrictions on the material of the climbing holds must be accepted, and that for the power supply of the LEDs additional holes must be drilled in the wall through which the cables can be pulled. It is also known, alternatively, to ensure the power supply of a light-emitting diode in the climbing grip by a built-in this climbing grip battery. However, this solution has the disadvantage that the batteries must be regularly replaced or recharged that with each handle additionally a switch must be installed, and that the individual LEDs can not be controlled by a common parent control.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a display device for climbing holds, which is relatively easy to install and can be controlled by a controller.
This object is achieved by a display device for climbing holds according to the features of
