Definitions
- the present invention relates to a composition
- a composition comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and at least one lubricant, suitable for use in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump.
- HFCs hydrofluorocarbons
- HFC-134a hydrofluorocarbon (1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane: HFC-134a ), less harmful for the ozone layer.
- CFC-12 chlorofluorocarbon
- HFC-134a hydrofluorocarbon (1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane: HFC-134a )
- HFC-134a 1430
- the contribution to the greenhouse effect of a fluid is quantified by a criterion, the GWP (Global Warming Potential) which summarizes the warming power by taking a reference value of 1 for carbon dioxide.
- Hydrofluoroolefins have a low warming potential and therefore meet the objectives set by the Kyoto Protocol.
- the document JP 4-110388 discloses hydrofluoropropenes as a heat transfer agent.
- the most widely used refrigeration machines are based on evaporative cooling of a liquid refrigerant. After vaporization, the fluid is compressed and then cooled in order to return to the liquid state and thus continue the cycle.
- the refrigeration compressors used are of the reciprocating, scroll, centrifugal or screw type.
- internal lubrication of compressors is essential to reduce wear and heating of moving parts, perfect their sealing and protect them against corrosion.
- a refrigerant In addition to the good properties of heat transfer agent, for a refrigerant to be accepted commercially it must in particular have a thermal stability and compatibility with lubricants. Indeed, it is highly desirable that the refrigerant is compatible with the lubricant used in the compressor, present in most refrigeration systems. This combination of refrigerant and lubricant is important for the implementation and efficiency of the refrigeration system, especially the lubricant must be sufficiently soluble or miscible in the refrigerant throughout the operating temperature range.
- polyalkylene glycol has been developed as a lubricant for HFC-134a in automotive air conditioning.
- Miscibility tests of 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene and 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene with lubricants have been described in Example 2 of the document WO 2004/037913 .
- Compatibility tests have also been described in Example 3 with polyalkylene glycol. However, these tests do not specify the nature of the isomer of 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene.
- 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene has been chosen as a refrigerant to replace HFC-134a in automotive air conditioning.
- the applicant has now developed a refrigerant fluid and lubricant, suitable for use in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump.
- the present application therefore relates to a composition
- a composition comprising at least one lubricant based on polyol esters (POE) or polyvinyl ether (PVE) and a refrigerant F comprising from 1 to 99% by weight of 2,3,3, 3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) and from 1 to 99% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze).
- POE polyol esters
- PVE polyvinyl ether
- F refrigerant F comprising from 1 to 99% by weight of 2,3,3, 3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) and from 1 to 99% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze).
- the fluid F may further comprise HFC-134a and preferably at most 10% by weight.
- the composition according to the present invention comprises at least one lubricant based on polyol esters (POE) or polyvinyl ether (PVE) and a fluid refrigerant F comprising from 5 to 70% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) and from 30 to 95% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze) ).
- POE polyol esters
- PVE polyvinyl ether
- F fluid refrigerant F comprising from 5 to 70% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) and from 30 to 95% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze) ).
- the particularly preferred composition comprises at least one lubricant based on polyol esters (POE) or polyvinyl ether (PVE) and a refrigerant F comprising 25 to 55% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO -1234yf) and from 45 to 75% by weight of trans-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze).
- POE polyol esters
- PVE polyvinyl ether
- F refrigerant F comprising 25 to 55% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO -1234yf) and from 45 to 75% by weight of trans-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (trans HFO-1234ze).
- Fluid F has the advantage over HFO-1234yf alone to have low flammability, and a manufacturing process of trans-HFO-1234ze less complex and less expensive than that of HFO-1234yf.
- the fluid F in combination with the POE or PVE has good thermal stability.
- the fluid F can advantageously be used to produce heat at very high temperatures (around 100 ° C.) because of its high critical temperature.
- the polyol esters are obtained by reaction of a polyol (an alcohol containing at least 2 hydroxyl groups, -OH) with a monofunctional or multifunctional carboxylic acid or with a monofunctional carboxylic acid mixture.
- a polyol an alcohol containing at least 2 hydroxyl groups, -OH
- the water formed during this reaction is removed to avoid the reverse reaction (i.e., hydrolysis).
- the preferred polyols are those having a neopentyl skeleton such as neopentyl glycol, trimethylolpropane, pentaerythritol and dipentaerythritol; pentaerythritol is the preferred polyol.
- the carboxylic acids can comprise from 2 to 15 carbon atoms, the carbon skeleton possibly being linear or branched.
- Preferred POE lubricants are those having a viscosity of from 1 to 1000 centiStokes (cSt) at 40 ° C, preferably from 10 to 200 cSt, and preferably from 30 to 80 cSt.
- polyvinyl ether oils are preferably copolymers of the following 2 units:
- Preferred PVE oils are those having 50 to 95% by weight of units 1.
- the lubricant represents (s) between 10 and 50%, inclusive, by weight of the composition.
- Fluid F may also include additives such as odorants.
- compositions according to the present invention can be used both in installations with dry expansion evaporators and evaporators operating in flooded regime.
- thermal stability tests are carried out according to ASHRAE 97-2007 standard: "sealed glass tube method de test the chemical stability of materials for use within refrigerant systems".
- the lubricant is introduced into a 42.2 ml glass tube.
- the tube is then drawn under vacuum and the fluid F is added thereto.
- the tube is then welded to close and placed in an oven at 200 ° C for 14 days.
- the RK-Soave equation is used to calculate densities, enthalpies, entropies and vapor-liquid equilibrium data of mixtures.
- the use of this equation requires knowledge of the properties of the pure bodies used in the mixtures in question and also the interaction coefficients for each binary.
- the temperature-pressure curve data of the HFOs are measured by the static method.
- the temperature and critical pressure are measured by a C80 calorimeter marketed by Setaram.
- the saturation densities as a function of temperature are measured by the vibrating tube densimeter technology developed by the laboratories of the autoimmune des Mines de Paris.
- the RK-Soave equation uses binary interaction coefficients to represent the behavior of products in mixtures.
- the coefficients are calculated based on the experimental vapor equilibrium data.
- the technique used for liquid vapor equilibrium measurements is the analytical static cell method.
- the balance cell includes a sapphire tube and is equipped with two electromagnetic ROLSITM samplers. It is immersed in a cryothermostat bath (HUBER HS40). Variable speed rotary field driving magnetic stirring is used to accelerate equilibrium attainment.
- the analysis of the samples is carried out by chromatography (HP5890 series II) in the gas phase using a katharometer (TCD).
- the system operates with 15 ° C overheating and an internal heat exchanger between the condenser and evaporator outputs.
- the coefficient of performance is defined as the useful power provided by the system on the power supplied or consumed by the system.
- the Lorenz coefficient of performance (COPLorenz) is a benchmark coefficient of performance. It is temperature dependent and is used to compare the COPs of different fluids.
- T average condenser T Entrance condenser - T exit condenser
- T average evaporator T exit evaporator - T Entrance evaporator
- The% COP / COPLorenz is the ratio of the system COP to the COP of the corresponding Lorenz cycle.
- the compression system In cooling mode, the compression system operates between an evaporating temperature of -5 ° C and a condensing temperature of 50 ° C.
- the compression system In heating mode, the compression system operates between an evaporating temperature of -5 ° C and a condensing temperature of 50 ° C.

Abstract
Description
- la réfrigération, notamment la réfrigération domestique, commerciale, chambres froides, industrie alimentaire, procédé, transport frigorifique (camions, bateaux) ;
- Les essais de stabilité thermique sont effectués selon la norme ASHRAE 97-2007: "sealed glass tube method to test the chemical stability of materials for use within refrigerant systems".
