- the injection nozzle When an injection nozzle gets defected and needs to be replaced, the injection nozzle can be pulled out of the cylinder head of a combustion engine by using a pulling device. However, this can give problems, because during use combustion gasses can get between the injection nozzle and the cylinder head. With this, small particles, such as soot particles from these combusting gasses, can get stuck between the injection nozzle and the cylinder head. Also in the course of time corrosion can occur between the injection nozzle and the cylinder head that can cause adhesion to take place between the injection nozzle and the cylinder head. This corrosion can be oxygen corrosion that is accelerated by the high temperatures, but can also be corrosion that is caused by stray currents. Further dirt particles that mainly occur at the edges, can contribute to the injection nozzle getting stuck in the cylinder head.
- the injection nozzle can be pulled out of the cylinder head as a whole.
- the exerted pulling force is higher than the material strength. If this too high pulling force is exerted, the nose part will tear loose of the upper part and all internal parts remain behind in the cylinder head. In that case the cylinder head needs to be dismounted from the motor and attempts have to be made to remove the injection nozzle or the remains thereof with other means.
- the invention aims to provide that dismounting of a (defect) injection nozzle from a cylinder head can take place in situ and without the injection nozzle breaking, without the necessity to dismount the cylinder head from the motor.
