Description

The invention relates to a packaging for bicycle pedals.

Bicycle pedals are sold as accessories for bicycles and must be provided or presented in a retail store in appropriate packaging to the customer.

It is known to provide boxes, are packed in the bicycle pedals. These boxes can for example be hinged, wherein inside of such a box, two recesses may be provided, in which the pedals are received.

With such product packaging, a customer or prospective customer can neither see nor touch the pedal without opening the packaging. When the package is opened, the customer can remove the pedals. In this case, however, there is an increased danger of theft, as a customer could very easily insert the removed pedals without the packaging.

Especially for pedals that are not designed as click pedals, it may be important for a customer or prospective customers to look at these pedals before buying or touch, as often in the purchase decision features such as skid resistance, the overall quality feel, feel and other optical Aspects are relevant.

The object of the invention is to provide a package for bicycle pedals, in which a prospect can view and touch one of the pedals without opening or damaging the product package.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.

A package for bicycle pedals has a pedestal for placing the first pedal on the pedestal. Here, the shape of the pedestal is adapted to the outer contours of the first pedal. This means that the shape of the pedestal and in particular the side of the pedestal, which is directed towards the pedal, is designed such that it follows at least a part of the outer contours of the first pedal. In particular, the top of the pedestal, i. H. adjusted the side facing away from the packaging to the 1st pedal. For example, the pedestal may have projections at the points where the first pedal has recesses. Conversely, the pedestal may have at the locations recesses or recesses, where the first pedal has projections, so that they can protrude into the recesses of the pedestal. A pedestal is understood to mean an element which is suitable for placing the first pedal on this element and at the same time an elevation is formed by the pedestal so that a cavity is formed under the pedestal.

The packaging further comprises a fixing device for fixing the first pedal on the pedestal. This is adapted to fix the first pedal on the pedestal so that its position is fixed relative to the pedestal and also a certain force must be applied to remove the first pedal again from the pedestal. This may be a relatively small force, so it may be necessary to secure the pedal with additional fasteners to the pedestal connect. The fixing thus causes according to the invention only an initial fixation of the pedal.

The packaging according to the invention further comprises a receiving space for the second pedal. According to the invention thus the first pedal is arranged on the pedestal, while the second pedal is located in said receiving space.

The packaging according to the invention thus offers a customer the opportunity to view and touch the first pedal located on the pedestal without having to remove it from the packaging or open or destroy the packaging. Thus, a customer is able to view or touch the pedal without the assistance of a salesperson who, for example, would have to help him open the packaging for reasons of theft protection. It is assumed that it is sufficient for a customer to look at and / or touch a single pedal, since the second pedal is always formed according to the first pedal and thus do not have to be visible before making a purchase decision both pedals.

It is preferred that the receiving space for the second pedal, starting from the viewer or the customer side facing the packaging, is arranged behind the pedestal. This means that a customer or viewer looks from the front at the first pedal, which is arranged on the pedestal. The pedestal is thus from the viewer behind the first pedal. Behind the pedestal is then the receiving space for the second pedal. This receiving space may include the interior volume of the pedestal, namely the space immediately behind the pedestal, so that the second pedal protrudes into this space. This is particularly advantageous because this space can be used to accommodate the second pedal and the package can thus be designed to save space.

According to the invention, the side facing the viewer is understood to mean that side of the packaging which a customer will usually see when the pedals are presented in the packaging in a shop. This may be the front side of the packaging, which is provided, for example, with product information in the form of texts or images. Frequently, product packages for smaller accessories are hung one behind the other on a pole, with each package having a recess through which that pole passes. The packaging in this case is thus viewed from the front by a customer, so that this corresponds to the viewer facing side of the package. The back of the package is directed away from the viewer in a conventional arrangement in a store and can be designed, for example, graphically simpler.

It is preferred that the receiving space on its front side, namely its side facing the observer, is closed by the pedestal and is closed at its rear side and optionally provided side parts by at least one rear wall element. If the rear side of the receiving space is cuboid-shaped, the receiving space may have a rear rear wall element and four lateral wall elements. The receiving space may also have other geometric shapes adapted to the dimensions and shape of the second pedal.

It is preferred that the rear wall element is formed by a base element of the packaging. The packaging may further comprise a front element. The base element can be connected to the pedestal via the front element. The front element, the pedestal and the base element may thus be three separate elements which are connected to each other in a mounted package. For example, the front element may be connected by gluing to the base element.

In a preferred embodiment, the front element has a recess whose shape and dimensions substantially correspond to those of the pedestal. In assembled packaging, the pedestal protrudes from behind in the direction of a viewer through this recess. For this purpose, the pedestal may have a preferably peripheral edge on its underside for holding the pedestal in the recess of the front element. This edge can run parallel to the front element between this and the base element. This edge thus prevents falling out of the pedestal forward, that is, in the direction of the viewer through the recess of the front element through. The pedestal is thus held positively between the front element and the base element. In an alternative embodiment, the front element and the pedestal may be integrally formed and connected to the base member, for example by gluing.

A two-part design of the front element and the pedestal is advantageous in that the pedestal can be made of a simpler material, for example papier mache, while the front element is made of cardboard. The front element can be printed with text or image information about the product, while the pedestal does not have to be elaborately designed graphically, since it is only partially visible to a viewer anyway. The base member may also be formed of cardboard or a plastic material.

In a further embodiment, the pedestal has two domes whose shapes and dimensions are adapted to two recesses having the pedal to be packaged. The packaging according to the invention is particularly suitable for pedals that are not designed as click pedals, since these pedals usually have between the pedal axis and the front and rear end of the pedal in each case a recess.

In this two recesses, the two domes of the pedestal protrude, and it is preferred that the two domes have at their top an elastically deformable rear engagement element for engaging behind an undercut of the first pedal. In particular, this is an undercut located inside the pedal, so that it is not necessary for the domes to be completely guided by the recesses of the pedal and protrude from the top of the pedal. Rather, it is sufficient that the dome protrude from below into the recesses of the pedal and extend up to the inside of the pedal undercut and engage behind. Thus, it is not directly apparent to a viewer, how the pedal is held on the pedestal. The elastically deformable rear engagement element can be formed, for example, by a projection which runs around the tip or top side of the mandrel around it and extends at least partially parallel to the front element. This approach can be pushed back to fix the pedal on the pedestal by a small amount of force and jumps by its own elasticity back to its original position as soon as he engages behind the undercut in the first pedal.

It is preferred that the two domes of the pedal are spaced apart in a direction transverse to the axis of the first pedal, such that the axis of the first pedal is receivable therein.

Furthermore, it is preferred that the receiving space for the second pedal on its side facing the observer is closed by the pedestal and / or a front element, so that the content of the receiving space is not visible to the viewer.

In a preferred embodiment, the package has an elastically deformable and in particular made of metal mounting bracket for attaching the first pedal on the pedestal. Here, the mounting bracket on two mounting lugs, wherein in the on Pedestal mounted first pedal each a fastening lug is guided in one of the two domes of the pedestal and in addition to the elastically deformable rear engagement element of the dome engages behind an undercut of the first pedal. By the mounting bracket thus a more stable connection between the pedestal and the first pedal can be achieved. The first pedal is thus also connected to the packaging. It is preferred that the mounting bracket is formed such that the first pedal can not, or can not be removed without much effort or force application from the pedestal. For example, this can be achieved in that the tension of the mounting bracket is chosen such that it can be removed in the assembled state only from the underside of the pedestal, since the two mounting lugs are biased against an undercut of the first pedal and thus only from the bottom of the podium have to be solved.

Furthermore, it is possible for the first and second pedals to be stacked in the packaging, with the pedestal between them, and in particular for the first and second pedals through a recess in the pedestal through a connecting element, for example a twistable wire with each other and with the packaging are connected. This connecting element may, for example, be guided around the axle or around other components of the pedals such that the first pedal is connected to the packaging by the fixing element of the pedestal, the fastening clip, and the last-mentioned connecting element. In a further preferred embodiment, the pedestal on its side on a recess for receiving a stop element of the first pedal. This stop element may extend on the inside of the tread surfaces of the pedal perpendicular to the tread surface and at an angle of for example 60 ° to 90 ° to the pedal axis and in particular perpendicular to this away from the pedal. This stop element is used to indicate a cyclist with a mounted pedal an end position to which the cyclist can put his foot in the direction of the pedal inwards. It is further preferred that the packaging has a second receiving space for receiving a manual or other product information, wherein the second receiving space is formed in particular between a base member and a front element of the package.

As in the Figures 1 and 2 illustrated, the packaging according to the invention comprises a base member 22 and a front member 24 which are interconnected by gluing. The front element 24 has a recess 26, through which the pedestal 14 protrudes in the direction of the observer to the front side A of the packaging. On the pedestal 14, the first pedal 12a is placed in the Figures 1 and 2 not shown. The pedestal 14 has a first dome 30a and a second dome 30b. Furthermore, the pedestal has a peripheral edge 28 which has a larger circumference than the recess 26 of the front element 24. By this edge 28 prevents the pedestal 14 through the recess 26 of the front member 24 in the direction of the viewer to the front side A of the package fall out. The pedestal 14 may be connected to the front element 24. For example, it may be glued to it. However, it is also possible that the pedestal 14 is held only in the recess 26 and has no further connection to the front element 24.

In the base member 22, a first recess 18 is formed, in which the second pedal 12 b, in the Figures 1 and 2 also not shown, can be included. The recess 18 is closed at its front by the pedestal 14 and in the edge regions of the front by the front element 24, so that the second pedal 12b is not visible to the viewer. At the rear side B of the packaging 10, the receiving space 18 has a rear rear wall element 18a. For lateral delimitation of the receiving space 18, four side walls or lateral rear wall elements 18b, 18c, 18d, 18e are furthermore provided on the base element 22. The volume of the receiving space 18 is adapted to the dimensions of the second pedal 12b.

Above the first receiving space 18, the base element 22 has a second receiving space 42, in which a user manual or other product information can be recorded. This second receiving space 42 may have smaller dimensions, in particular a smaller depth than the first receiving space 18 for the second pedal 12b, so that the package 10 has a smaller depth in its upper region.

The front member 24 and the base member 22 may also be enclosed by a non-illustrated, transparent plastic wrapper known in the packaging art. This transparent envelope may also have a recess in the region of the recess 26 of the front element 24, so that the pedestal 14 projects with the first pedal 12a through this plastic envelope and can be touched by an interested party.

In FIG. 3 It is shown how the pedals 12a are fixed by the domes 30a, 30b. The two domes 30a, 30b each engage in a recess 48 or 50 of the pedal 12a. The pedal 12a has in its inner region a plurality of undercuts 32, which may be of any desired design. It is preferred that these undercuts 32 be in the central region of the pedal 12a or in its upper third, but not above its upper side 52. Thus, it is possible to fix the pedal 12a on the pedestal 14 without the two domes 30a, 30b protrude beyond the pedal 12a.

The fixation of the pedal 12a takes place in that the two domes 30a, 30b have at their upper end an elastically deformable circumferential rear engagement element 16, that the undercuts 32 of the first pedal 12a engages behind.

For a more stable attachment of the pedal 12a on the pedestal 14, a metal bracket 36 is further provided which has a first and second attachment lug 36a, 36b. In each case a fastening lug is guided in one of the two domes 30a, 30b and engages in addition to the elastically deformable rear engagement element 16 of the mandrel 30a, 30b each have an undercut 32 of the first pedal 12a.

An additional connection of the first pedal 12a with the second pedal 12b, which is located immediately below the first pedal 12a in the receiving space 18, is achieved by a twistable wire 44, which is guided around the two axes 34 of the pedals 12a, 12b. This wire is guided by two not shown recesses in the pedestal 14.

In FIG. 3 is also visible that the pedestal 14 has a peripheral edge 28 which is parallel to the front member 24 and is disposed between this and the base member 22.

Furthermore, in FIG. 3 a recess 38 in the pedestal 14 visible. This serves to receive a stop element 40 of the first pedal 12a, which extends on the inside of the tread surfaces of the pedal 12a perpendicular to the tread surface at an angle of 60 ° to 90 ° to the pedal axis 34 away from the pedal.

The size of the pedestal 14 can be adapted to different pedal sizes, wherein it is not necessary to adapt the other components 22 and 24 of the package to the changed pedal size.

Claims (13)

1. A packing for bicycle pedals (12a,12b), comprising
   a pedestal (14) and a first pedal (12a) supported thereon, the shape of the pedestal (14) being adapted to the outer contours of the first pedal (12a),
   a first pedal (12a) supported on the pedestal (14), being fixed on the pedestal (14) by a fixing means (16),
   a receiving cavity (18) in which a second pedal (12b) is received,
   the receiving cavity (18) with the second pedal (12b) is arranged behind the pedestal (14) when viewed from the side (A) of the packing (10) facing toward an observer, and comprises the inner volume of the pedestal (14), i.e. the space (20) arranged directly behind the pedestal (14).

The packing of claim 1, characterized in that the front side of the receiving cavity (18), i.e. the side (A) of the receiving cavity facing toward the observer, is closed by the pedestal (14), and the rear side and optionally existing side portions of the receiving cavity are closed by at least one rear wall element (18a,18b,18c,18d).
3. The packing of claim 2, characterized in that said rear wall element (18a,18b,18c,18d) is formed by a base element (22) of the packing (10) and the packing (10) further comprises a front element (24) via which said base element (22) is connected preferably to the pedestal (24).

The packing of claim 3, characterized in that the front element (24) comprises a recess (26) whose shape and dimensions substantially correspond to those of the pedestal (14), wherein, in the assembled state of the packing (10), the pedestal extends from the rear through said recess (26) in the direction of the observer, and wherein the pedestal (14) is particularly provided with a preferably circumferential edge (28) on its lower region for keeping the pedestal (14) fixed in the recess (26) of the front element (24), said edge (28) extending parallel to the front element (24) between the latter and the base element (22).

The packing of any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the pedestal (14) comprises two domes (30a,30b), their shapes and dimensions being adapted to two recesses formed in the pedal (12a) which is to be packed, said two domes (30a,30b) comprising, at their tip, particularly an elastically deformable rear-engagement portion (16) for engagement behind an undercut (32) of the first pedal (12a).
6. The packing of claim 5, characterized in that the two domes (30a,30b) of the pedestal (14) are arranged at a mutual distance in a direction transverse to the axis (34) of the first pedal (12a) so that the axis (34) of the first pedal (12a) can be received in the intermediate space.

The packing of any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that on its side (A) facing toward the observer, the receiving cavity (18) for the second pedal (12b) is closed by the pedestal (14) and/or a front element (24) so that the contents of the receiving cavity (18) are not visible to the observer.

The packing of claim 5, characterized by an elastically deformable fastening clamp (36), preferably made of metal, for attachment of the first pedal (12a) to the pedestal (14), said fastening clamp comprising two fastening projections (36a,36b), wherein, with the first pedal (12a) mounted to the pedestal (14), a respective fastening projection (36a,36b) is fitted into one of the two domes (30a,30b) of the pedestal (14) and, in addition to said elastically deformable rear-engagement portion (16) of the dome (30a,30b), engages behind an undercut (32) of the first pedal (12a).

The packing of claim 8, characterized in that, when the first pedal (12a) has been fixed on the pedestal (14) of the packing (10), the first pedal is in contact with the pedestal (14) only by the lower portion (C) of the pedal, wherein the fixation and/or the attachment of the pedal (12a) on the pedestal (14) occur only at the lower portion (C) of the pedal so that the other five faces of the pedal (12a) are not covered by any element of the packing (10) and thus are visible to and/or touchable by an interested person.

The packing of any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the pedestal (14) comprises, at a side thereof, a recess (38) for receiving an abutment element (40) of the first pedal (12a), said abutment element extending on the inner side of the footplate of the pedal (12a) vertically to the footplate and at an angle of 60° to 90° relative to the pedal axis (34) and, particularly, vertically to the pedal axis away from the pedal (12a).
11. The packing of any one of claims 1 to 10, characterized by a second receiving cavity (42) for accommodating an instruction manual or other product information, said second receiving cavity (42) being preferably formed between a base element (22) and a front element (24) of the packing (10).
12. The packing of any one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the pedestal (14) is made of papier-mâché and a base element (22) and a front element (24) of the packing (10) are preferably made of cardboard.

The packing of any one of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the first and the second pedal (12a, 12b) are arranged above each other in the packing (10), the pedestal (14) being arranged between them and, preferably, the first and the second pedal (12a,12b) being connected to each other and to the packing (10) via a recess in the pedestal with the aid of a connection element (44), e.g. a twistable wire.
