Definitions
- the present invention relates to the general technical field of surgical implants intended to be implanted in the body of a patient around biological organ (s) constituting a pocket or a duct, and more particularly to the gastric rings designed to treat obesity by implantation of a flexible gastric band, intended to form a closed loop around the stomach or esophagus to reduce the passage section.
- the present invention relates to a surgical ring implantable in a human or animal body for surrounding a biological organ constituting a pocket or a duct in order to modify the passage section of said organ, said ring comprising on the one hand a casing having an inner face for come into contact with the biological organ to modify the section and an opposite outer face, and secondly a belt attached against and along said outer face and attached thereto.
- the present invention more particularly relates to a gastric ring, but it may also relate to a ring designed to treat urinary or faecal incontinence (artificial sphincter), or a ring designed to regulate the blood flow in blood vessels, this list does not being in no way limiting.
- This widely known technique involves implanting a gastric band around the patient's stomach, in order to reduce the size of the stomach as well as the diameter of its passage (stoma).
- a gastric band comprising, on the one hand, a flexible inflatable hose and, on the other hand, an attached back-belt attached to and along the inflatable hose.
- the closure of the ring is provided by a suitable locking device positioned at the ends of the belt and allowing the ring to adopt a closed loop shape encircling the stomach circularly.
- the volume of the inflatable hose is adjusted by adding or removing an inflation fluid.
- the inflatable hose is connected to one end of a catheter whose other end is itself connected to a subcutaneous implantable site for introducing or removing inflation fluid through the skin of the patient, using a hollow needle piercing the waterproof membrane of the site in question.
- the main function of the back belt is to contain the deformation of the gut inflatable so as to promote a predominantly centripetal inflation of the latter, to the stomach.
- this ring of the prior art proves relatively difficult to manufacture. Indeed, the belt is fixed on and along the hose by gluing, this gluing being performed manually by an operator. The relative positioning of the belt relative to the hose during bonding must be extremely precise, to obtain a perfectly functional and atraumatic ring.
- EP1829505 discloses a gastric ring stent.
- the stent attaches to a first end of a gastric ring.
- the gastric ring has locking means at both ends.
- the stent has an elongate body, one end of which mates with a locking means of the gastric ring.

- FIG. 1 illustrates, in a schematic perspective view, a first embodiment of a surgical obesity treatment ring for enclosing the stomach or esophagus, said ring being in an unlocked configuration.
- FIG. 2 illustrates, in a schematic perspective view, a ring according to a second embodiment of the invention, this ring being distinguished from the ring of FIG. 1 only by the fact that its belt and gut are made of materials of different colors, the color of the belt being thus darker than that of the hose, said ring being in unlocked configuration just like that of FIG.
- FIG. 3 illustrates, in a schematic perspective view, the ring of Figure 2 in its locked configuration.
- FIG. 4 is an exploded view of the ring of FIG. 1, in which the casing and the belt are separated so as to allow a more precise apprehension of their respective structures.
- FIG. 5 is a diagrammatic sectional view of the ring of FIG. 2.
- gastric band for the treatment of obesity, generally referred to as "gastric band", and designed to surround the stomach or esophagus so as to reduce its passage section.

- surgical ring 1 is a gastric band for the surgical treatment of obesity, i.e., ring 1 is intended to be implanted surgically inside the patient's body, around of the stomach or esophagus (depending on the surgical technique chosen), to locally strangle the latter and thus reduce locally the section of passage of food in the stomach or esophagus.
- This sectional restriction causes a slowing of the flow of food, which allows the patient to reach a feeling of satiety quickly and with a relatively small amount of food.
- the ring 1 can be designed for the implementation of an adjustable ring gastroplasty treatment, also sometimes called annuloplasty or modular gastric ring banding, or even "AGB procedure” In reference to the English terminology “Adjustable Gastric Banding” commonly used in the field.
- This ring 1 can also, alternatively, be designed for the implementation of a treatment called “adjustable bypass", in which the ring 1 is placed around a gastric bag resulting from a surgical operation bypass of the stomach.
- the ring 1 is intended to be implanted laparoscopically, that is to say that it has dimensions and properties that make it suitable to be inserted, via a trocar, into the body of the patient, by a surgical operation called "closed belly”.
- the surgical ring 1 comprises for example a flexible band 2, preferably made of an elastomeric material, such as silicone and in particular medical grade silicone.
- the flexible band 2 is designed to be closed around the selected biological organ (in this case the esophagus or stomach) in a predetermined locking configuration (illustrated in FIG. 3) in which it affects a form of closed loop, so as to locally grip the member according to a perimeter whose length is advantageously adjustable, through optional technical means which will be described in more detail below.
- the ring 1 advantageously comprises a locking means 3 in the closed functional position around the biological organ at grip.
- the locking means 3 comprises locking male and female members 4, 5 respectively arranged towards a first end 6 and a second end 7 of the ring 1, that is to say more precisely the band flexible 2 forming the ring 1.

- the strip 2 can thus advantageously pass, at will and reversibly, an open configuration (illustrated in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4) to a predetermined closure configuration (illustrated in FIG. ) in which the locking male and female members 4, 5 cooperate in interlocking engagement to hold the ends 6, 7 of the flexible band 2 together.
- the ring 1 comprises, as illustrated in the figures, a hose 8 having an inner face 8A intended to come into contact with the biological organ to modify the passage section and an opposite outer face 8B.
- the hose 8 advantageously has an elongated shape, that is to say that it extends longitudinally between a first end 8C and a second end 8D.
- the casing 8 is advantageously in the form of a hollow flexible tube extending between two closed ends corresponding to the first and second ends 8C, 8D, said closed ends being intended to abut one against the other in the predetermined configuration of locking band 2 (see Figure 3) so as to form a substantially annular casing 8 capable of enclosing the biological organ over an angular range substantially equal to 360 °.
- the casing 8 thus extends longitudinally over most of the length of the flexible band 2, and preferably extends over substantially the entire length of the perimeter of the band. clamping formed by the strip 2 when the latter is in its predetermined locking configuration (see Figure 3).
- the hose 8 is hollow, that is to say, it delimits a closed internal volume, or in other words a closed 8E chamber.

- a solid body of reinforcement for example a wire metal
- the ring 1 has no adjustable character.
- the ring 1 further comprises a belt 10, formed by a substantially separate piece and independent of the hose 8, and which is attached against and along the outer face 8B of the hose 8 and attached thereto.
- the belt 10 advantageously has an elongated shape, of comparable length to that of the hose 8, and is intended to be secured against and along the hose 8 so as to form with the latter an indivisible unitary unit constituting the ring 1.
- the ring 1 is advantageously constituted by the permanent and definitive association of two one-piece pieces, namely on the one hand a hose 8, which preferably forms by itself an inflation chamber, and on the other hand a belt 10, which is advantageously in the form of a Elastomeric tape designed to be attached and fixed against and along the hose 8.
- the belt 10 is advantageously made of an elastomeric material, preferably in sil icon.
- the material constituting the belt 10 has a hardness greater than that of the material constituting the hose 8, so as to give the belt 10 sufficient mechanical strength to enable it to limit the centrifugal radial expansion of the ring 1 when
- the material constituting the casing 8 is chosen to have a particularly soft and flexible character, so as not to damage the biological tissues.

- the first assembly means 11 secured to the hose 8 and the second assembly means 12 secured to the belt 10 cooperate mechanically, that is to say by mutual contact blocking, so as to prevent relative longitudinal displacement of the belt 10 and the hose 8, when the belt 10 is brought into operative position against the hose 8.
- the position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8 is identified and reliably fixed by mechanical interlocking (therefore without glue or welding), without the risk of introducing an inadvertent longitudinal shift of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8 by relative longitudinal sliding of the belt 10 and the hose 8.
- first and second assembly means 11, 12 cooperate in such a manner as to fasten the belt 10 and the casing 8 in a purely mechanical manner, that is to say without gluing, welding or other means of joining which does not fall within the scope of the invention. no mechanical interaction proper.
- the invention thus rests on the implementation of means 11, 12 which mechanically fix the longitudinal position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8, that is to say which prevents at least a relative longitudinal sliding of the hose 8 and the belt 10.
- the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 interact mechanically to attach the belt 10 to the hose 8, that is to say, to fasten, at least locally, the belt 10 to the hose 8.

- the first female fastening element 14 itself comprises a fastening ring 14A while the first male fastening element 13 comprises a fastening segment 13A which extends between two fastening abutments 13B, 13C, 13A fixing being inserted into the fixing ring 14A so that it is locked between said fixing stops 13B, 13C, thereby immobilizing the hose 8 relative to the belt 10 in a single predetermined position.
- the fixing ring 14A delimits a through opening 14B of substantially circular section, the fixing segment 13A itself having a tubular shape substantially complementary to that of the opening defined by the fixing ring 14A so as to achieve a fitting of the first female fastener 14 and the first male fastener 13.
- the first male fastening element 13 incorporates the means for placing the inside of the casing 8 in communication with the outside, mentioned in the foregoing. More precisely, in the context of the variants illustrated in the figures, the fixing segment 13A is hollow so as to form a conduit for placing the inside of the casing 8 in communication with the outside, the duct in question being extended by the endpiece 9, which extends longitudinally in the continuity of the first male fastening element 13. This technical measure reduces the number of constituent parts of the ring 1, and thus to give the latter a particularly compact and robust, easy to manufacture.
- the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 are arranged towards a first end 8C, 10A, respectively of the hose 8 of the belt 10, so as to realize a point mechanical anchoring of the belt 10 to the casing 8 to a first end 6 of the flexible band 2.
- the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 contribute to forming the male locking member 4.
- the fixing ring 14A bears on its periphery the locking abutments 4A. , 4B, said ring 14A being located at the first end 1 OA of the belt 10 and being connected to the remainder of said belt 10 through a junction portion 14C which fits a complementary zone 15 formed on the hose 8 to form the male locking element.
- This technical measure consisting in ensuring that the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 form, at least in part, the male locking member 4, ensures the fastening of the belt 10 and the hose 8 , since during the locking of the ring 1 the ring 5A forming the female locking member 5 will exert a mechanical stress on the male member 4 which tends to maintain the assembly of the first and second assembly means 11, 12 .
- the hose 8 and the belt 10 are respectively provided with third and fourth complementary assembly means 16, 17 which interact mechanically to substantially prevent slipping of the belt 10 along the outer face 8B.
- the third and fourth assembly means 16, 17 provide an identical function, and therefore redundant, to that provided by the first and second assembly means 11, 12 described in the foregoing. This redundancy however makes it possible to further strengthen the structure of the ring 1, while constituting an additional coding element for mounting the belt 10 on the hose 8.
- the third and fourth complementary assembly means 16, 17 are arranged towards a second end 8D, 10B respectively of the hose 8 and the belt 10.
- the variants illustrated in the figures thus implement two points of mechanical attachment between the belt 10 and the hose 8 respectively disposed at each end thereof, that is to say towards each of the ends 6, 7 of the flexible band 2.
- the third and fourth complementary assembly means 16, 17 contribute to forming the female locking member 5.
- the fourth assembly means 17 comprises a first fixing ring 17A which is intended to be inserted inside a second fixing ring 16B, concentrically with the latter, combination of said first and second fixing rings 17A, 16B forming the locking ring 5A. More specifically, the first fixing ring 17A is inserted in force in the opening delimited by the second fixing ring 16B by a notch 16A formed in the side wall of said second fixing ring 16B.
- the ring 1 may also comprise, as is more particularly visible in FIG. 5, complementary fifth and sixth assembly means 18, 19 which mechanically interact to substantially prevent any slippage of the belt 10 along the face. 8B outdoor.
- the fifth and sixth assembly means 18, 19 are therefore redundant with respect to the first, second, third and fourth assembly means 1 1, 12, 16, 17 mentioned in the foregoing.
- the fifth assembly means 18 is constituted by an opening in the wall of the casing 8, while the sixth assembly means 19 is constituted by a mushroom-shaped protrusion from the belt 10, the openings and grows in question cooperating in the manner of a button and a buttonhole, the button being formed by the protrusion while the buttonhole is formed by the opening.
- the opening forming fifth assembly means 18 may correspond to the opening made necessary by the method of manufacturing by molding the hose 8. Indeed, when the hose 8 is manufactured by molding, it is necessary to be able to exit the mold core through an opening, which may correspond to the opening forming the fifth assembly means 18. This opening must of course be plugged, so that the hose 8 defines a sealed chamber 8E capable of accommodating an inflation fluid. The opening in question can thus be plugged thanks to the mushroom-shaped protrusion which in this case ensures a double role of sealing and mechanical connection.
- the belt 10 is bonded to the casing 8.
- all the surfaces of the belts 10 and casing 8 intended to come into contact are sized, so as to allow an intimate, uniform and continuous connection of the belt 10 and the Hose 8 over their entire contact interface.
- This bonding advantageously comes in addition to the mechanical assembly obtained by at least the first and second assembly means 1 1, 12.
- the simultaneous implementation of a mechanical assembly using at least the first and second assembly means 1 1, 12 and a sizing of the belt 10 and hose 8 over their entire contact interface provides a ring 1 of particularly robust and durable construction.
- the hose 8 is manufactured by an operation of molding an elastomeric material, which makes it possible to obtain a one-piece piece, in one piece, forming said hose 8.
- the belt 10 is manufactured by a molding operation of elastomeric material (preferably of greater hardness than the material forming the hose) to obtain a single piece forming the belt 10 in question.
- the protrusion forming sixth assembly means 19 is inserted into force in the opening forming fifth assembly means 18, in the manner of a button in a buttonhole.
- These various mechanical assemblies make it possible to very precisely fix the position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8.
- These mechanical assemblies are completed by a gluing of the connecting means in pairs (the first assembly means 11 is glued to the second means of assembly). assembly 12, the third assembly means 16 is glued to the fourth assembly means 17, and the fifth assembly means 18 is glued to the sixth assembly means 19).
- the operator also performs a uniform bonding of the hose 8 and the belt 10, this bonding being performed by covering a layer of glue of all the surfaces of the casing 8 and the belt 10 intended to come into contact.
- the glue is introduced between the hose 8 and the belt 10 after mechanical assembly of the latter, by proceeding as follows:
- the ring 1 is locked by introduction of the male member 4 into the female member 5 (constituted by the unitary subassembly formed by the first and second coaxial rings 17A, 16B glued to each other ), which contributes to strengthening the assembly of the first and second assembly means 11, 12 on the one hand and third and fourth assembly means 16, 17 on the other hand, the ring 17A cooperating in particular with the stops 4A, 4B, while the male element 4 is reciprocally inserted in the ring 17A which contributes to maintain the latter in position relative to the casing 8.

In particular, a gastric band is known comprising, on the one hand, a flexible inflatable hose and, on the other hand, an attached back-belt attached to and along the inflatable hose. The closure of the ring is provided by a suitable locking device positioned at the ends of the belt and allowing the ring to adopt a closed loop shape encircling the stomach circularly. The volume of the inflatable hose is adjusted by adding or removing an inflation fluid. To this end, the inflatable hose is connected to one end of a catheter whose other end is itself connected to a subcutaneous implantable site for introducing or removing inflation fluid through the skin of the patient, using a hollow needle piercing the waterproof membrane of the site in question. The main function of the back belt is to contain the deformation of the gut inflatable so as to promote a predominantly centripetal inflation of the latter, to the stomach.
This ring construction by association of two separate and independent components (the hose and the belt) has many interests, but also some disadvantages discussed below.
In the first place, this ring of the prior art proves relatively difficult to manufacture. Indeed, the belt is fixed on and along the hose by gluing, this gluing being performed manually by an operator. The relative positioning of the belt relative to the hose during bonding must be extremely precise, to obtain a perfectly functional and atraumatic ring.
Such accuracy, however, is difficult to achieve in practice, since the operator can inadvertently stick the belt along the hose with a longitudinal offset, relative to the ideal position determined by the design of the ring, the position of the belt relative to the hose. This risk of a longitudinally offset fastening of the belt relative to the hose is increased by the fact that it is difficult for the manufacturing operator to quickly and surely identify the ideal positioning of the belt relative to the hose. For the foregoing reasons, the manufacture of the rings of the prior art designed on the basis of the combination of a hose and a belt is delicate, long and expensive, with a scrap rate that can be significant and which helps to increase the cost price of these rings.
In addition, there is a risk of deterioration of the adhesive layer providing the connection between the inflatable hose and the belt, which could lead to accidental disconnection of the belt and the hose, with all the negative consequences that would entail, especially for the safety of the patient.

However, the invention is not necessarily limited to this application, and may also relate to other surgical rings, and generally the surgical rings intended to be implanted in the body of a patient around at least one organ biological hollow, constituting for example a pocket or a conduit, for modifying the passage section of said member when it is enclosed by the ring. By way of example, mention may be made of the rings used to treat urinary or faecal incontinence, or those used around blood vessels to regulate blood flow. In the case of urinary incontinence treatment, the ring will be implanted around the bladder or the urinary tract, and in the case of fecal incontinence treatment, it will be implanted around the gastrointestinal tract and especially around the anal structures. of the intestine.
As stated above, surgical ring 1 is a gastric band for the surgical treatment of obesity, i.e., ring 1 is intended to be implanted surgically inside the patient's body, around of the stomach or esophagus (depending on the surgical technique chosen), to locally strangle the latter and thus reduce locally the section of passage of food in the stomach or esophagus. This sectional restriction causes a slowing of the flow of food, which allows the patient to reach a feeling of satiety quickly and with a relatively small amount of food.
For example, the ring 1 according to the embodiments illustrated in the figures can be designed for the implementation of an adjustable ring gastroplasty treatment, also sometimes called annuloplasty or modular gastric ring banding, or even "AGB procedure" In reference to the English terminology "Adjustable Gastric Banding" commonly used in the field.
This ring 1 can also, alternatively, be designed for the implementation of a treatment called "adjustable bypass", in which the ring 1 is placed around a gastric bag resulting from a surgical operation bypass of the stomach. Preferably, the ring 1 is intended to be implanted laparoscopically, that is to say that it has dimensions and properties that make it suitable to be inserted, via a trocar, into the body of the patient, by a surgical operation called "closed belly". The surgical ring 1 comprises for example a flexible band 2, preferably made of an elastomeric material, such as silicone and in particular medical grade silicone.
The flexible band 2 is designed to be closed around the selected biological organ (in this case the esophagus or stomach) in a predetermined locking configuration (illustrated in FIG. 3) in which it affects a form of closed loop, so as to locally grip the member according to a perimeter whose length is advantageously adjustable, through optional technical means which will be described in more detail below. In order to achieve this closure of the flexible band 2 on itself, which corresponds to the locking configuration illustrated in FIG. 3, the ring 1 advantageously comprises a locking means 3 in the closed functional position around the biological organ at grip. Preferably, the locking means 3 comprises locking male and female members 4, 5 respectively arranged towards a first end 6 and a second end 7 of the ring 1, that is to say more precisely the band flexible 2 forming the ring 1. For example, as shown in the figures, the male locking member 4 advantageously comprises an elongate locking member intended to be forced into a ring 5A forming the female member 5, said elongated member locking being provided with abutments 4A, 4B preventing the accidental reopening of the band 2 once the latter is closed and locked around the stomach, but allowing unlocking and reopening of the band 2 subject to applying a force sufficient and directed in a direction suitable for elastically deforming the abutments 4A, 4B and / or the ring 5A forming the female element 5, to allow the disengagement o 4 and 5. The strip 2 can thus advantageously pass, at will and reversibly, an open configuration (illustrated in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4) to a predetermined closure configuration (illustrated in FIG. ) in which the locking male and female members 4, 5 cooperate in interlocking engagement to hold the ends 6, 7 of the flexible band 2 together.
The ring 1 comprises, as illustrated in the figures, a hose 8 having an inner face 8A intended to come into contact with the biological organ to modify the passage section and an opposite outer face 8B. The hose 8 advantageously has an elongated shape, that is to say that it extends longitudinally between a first end 8C and a second end 8D. The casing 8 is advantageously in the form of a hollow flexible tube extending between two closed ends corresponding to the first and second ends 8C, 8D, said closed ends being intended to abut one against the other in the predetermined configuration of locking band 2 (see Figure 3) so as to form a substantially annular casing 8 capable of enclosing the biological organ over an angular range substantially equal to 360 °. In this case, the casing 8 thus extends longitudinally over most of the length of the flexible band 2, and preferably extends over substantially the entire length of the perimeter of the band. clamping formed by the strip 2 when the latter is in its predetermined locking configuration (see Figure 3).
As explained above, the hose 8 is hollow, that is to say, it delimits a closed internal volume, or in other words a closed 8E chamber.
Advantageously, the hose 8 is designed to contain a filling fluid, which preferably consists of a low-viscosity liquid, for example a physiological liquid or a saline solution. However, it is quite conceivable that the filling fluid of the casing 8 is constituted by a gas such as air, or conversely by a pasty or semi-pasty body, without however leaving the framework of the invention.
Thus, by supply or removal of fluid in the casing 8 (and more precisely in the chamber 8E), it is possible to adjust the clamping diameter defined by the inner face 8A. To this end, the ring 1 advantageously comprises a means for placing the inside of the casing 8 in communication with the outside, to allow a supply of inflation fluid into the casing 8 or, on the contrary, to allow inflation fluid to be withdrawn. 8. For example, the means of communicating the inside of the casing 8 with the outside comprises an opening in the casing 8, said opening being connected to a cap 9. The cap 9 is intended for be connected to a catheter itself connected to a housing (implantable site) intended to be implanted under the skin of the patient to allow to inject (or otherwise withdraw) fluid into the casing 8 via the catheter and of the mouthpiece 9.
However, it is quite possible, without departing from the scope of the invention, that the hose 8 is not intended to be filled with fluid but instead hosts a solid body of reinforcement (for example a wire metal), which constitutes a core to prevent a diametral deformation of the ring 1 under the effect of the centrifugal expansion force exerted by the biological organ gripped. In this case (which does not correspond to the variants shown), the ring 1 has no adjustable character.
The ring 1 further comprises a belt 10, formed by a substantially separate piece and independent of the hose 8, and which is attached against and along the outer face 8B of the hose 8 and attached thereto. In other words, the belt 10 advantageously has an elongated shape, of comparable length to that of the hose 8, and is intended to be secured against and along the hose 8 so as to form with the latter an indivisible unitary unit constituting the ring 1.
Thus, the ring 1 is advantageously constituted by the permanent and definitive association of two one-piece pieces, namely on the one hand a hose 8, which preferably forms by itself an inflation chamber, and on the other hand a belt 10, which is advantageously in the form of a Elastomeric tape designed to be attached and fixed against and along the hose 8. The belt 10 is advantageously made of an elastomeric material, preferably in sil icon. Preferably, the material constituting the belt 10 has a hardness greater than that of the material constituting the hose 8, so as to give the belt 10 sufficient mechanical strength to enable it to limit the centrifugal radial expansion of the ring 1 when In contrast, the material constituting the casing 8 is chosen to have a particularly soft and flexible character, so as not to damage the biological tissues. The hose 8 and the belt 9 are respectively provided with first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 which interact mechanically to substantially prevent slipping of the belt 10 along the outer face 8B of the hose 8. In other words , the first assembly means 11 secured to the hose 8 and the second assembly means 12 secured to the belt 10 cooperate mechanically, that is to say by mutual contact blocking, so as to prevent relative longitudinal displacement of the belt 10 and the hose 8, when the belt 10 is brought into operative position against the hose 8. With this technical measure, the position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8 is identified and reliably fixed by mechanical interlocking (therefore without glue or welding), without the risk of introducing an inadvertent longitudinal shift of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8 by relative longitudinal sliding of the belt 10 and the hose 8.
As previously explained, the first and second assembly means 11, 12 cooperate in such a manner as to fasten the belt 10 and the casing 8 in a purely mechanical manner, that is to say without gluing, welding or other means of joining which does not fall within the scope of the invention. no mechanical interaction proper.
The invention thus rests on the implementation of means 11, 12 which mechanically fix the longitudinal position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8, that is to say which prevents at least a relative longitudinal sliding of the hose 8 and the belt 10.
Advantageously, the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 interact mechanically to attach the belt 10 to the hose 8, that is to say, to fasten, at least locally, the belt 10 to the hose 8. In this case, Figure, which corresponds to the variants illustrated in the figures, the mechanical connection made by the interaction between the first and second assembly means 11, 12 is a connection type embedding, which prevents the dissociation of the casing 8 and the belt 10. Advantageously, the first and second assembly means 11, 12 comprise at least a first male fastening element 13 and a first female fastening element 14 mechanically coupled.
En d'autre terme, l'interaction mécanique des premier et deuxième moyens d'assemblage 11 , 12 est dans ce cas obtenue par emboîtement d'un premier élément de fixation mâle 13 dans un premier élément de fixation femelleIn other words, the mechanical interaction of the first and second assembly means 11, 12 is in this case obtained by interlocking a first male fastener element 13 in a first female fastener element
14, le premier élément de fixation mâle 13 et le premier élément de fixation femelle 14 étant ainsi interverrouillés mécaniquement ce qui assure la fixation, au moins locale, de la ceinture 10 relativement au boyau 8 selon une position relative prédéterminée.14, the first male fastener element 13 and the first female fastener element 14 thus being interlocked mechanically which ensures the attachment, at least local, of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8 in a predetermined relative position.
Preferably, the first female fastening element 14 itself comprises a fastening ring 14A while the first male fastening element 13 comprises a fastening segment 13A which extends between two fastening abutments 13B, 13C, 13A fixing being inserted into the fixing ring 14A so that it is locked between said fixing stops 13B, 13C, thereby immobilizing the hose 8 relative to the belt 10 in a single predetermined position. Preferably, the fixing ring 14A delimits a through opening 14B of substantially circular section, the fixing segment 13A itself having a tubular shape substantially complementary to that of the opening defined by the fixing ring 14A so as to achieve a fitting of the first female fastener 14 and the first male fastener 13.
Advantageously, the first male fastening element 13 incorporates the means for placing the inside of the casing 8 in communication with the outside, mentioned in the foregoing. This technical measure reduces the number of constituent parts of the ring 1, and thus to give the latter a particularly compact and robust, easy to manufacture.
d'ancrage mécanique de la ceinture 10 au boyau 8 vers une première extrémité 6 de la bande souple 2.Advantageously, the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 are arranged towards a first end 8C, 10A, respectively of the hose 8 of the belt 10, so as to realize a point mechanical anchoring of the belt 10 to the casing 8 to a first end 6 of the flexible band 2.
Thus, in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the fixing ring 14A bears on its periphery the locking abutments 4A. , 4B, said ring 14A being located at the first end 1 OA of the belt 10 and being connected to the remainder of said belt 10 through a junction portion 14C which fits a complementary zone 15 formed on the hose 8 to form the male locking element. This technical measure, consisting in ensuring that the first and second complementary assembly means 11, 12 form, at least in part, the male locking member 4, ensures the fastening of the belt 10 and the hose 8 , since during the locking of the ring 1 the ring 5A forming the female locking member 5 will exert a mechanical stress on the male member 4 which tends to maintain the assembly of the first and second assembly means 11, 12 .
In other words, the third and fourth assembly means 16, 17 provide an identical function, and therefore redundant, to that provided by the first and second assembly means 11, 12 described in the foregoing. This redundancy however makes it possible to further strengthen the structure of the ring 1, while constituting an additional coding element for mounting the belt 10 on the hose 8.
The variants illustrated in the figures thus implement two points of mechanical attachment between the belt 10 and the hose 8 respectively disposed at each end thereof, that is to say towards each of the ends 6, 7 of the flexible band 2.
For example, as illustrated in the figures, the fourth assembly means 17 comprises a first fixing ring 17A which is intended to be inserted inside a second fixing ring 16B, concentrically with the latter, combination of said first and second fixing rings 17A, 16B forming the locking ring 5A. More specifically, the first fixing ring 17A is inserted in force in the opening delimited by the second fixing ring 16B by a notch 16A formed in the side wall of said second fixing ring 16B.
Avantageusement, l'anneau 1 peut également comprendre, comme cela est plus particulièrement visible à la figure 5, des cinquième et sixième moyens d'assemblage 18, 19 complémentaires qui interagissent mécaniquement pour sensiblement empêcher tout glissement de la ceinture 10 le long de la face extérieure 8B.Advantageously, the ring 1 may also comprise, as is more particularly visible in FIG. 5, complementary fifth and sixth assembly means 18, 19 which mechanically interact to substantially prevent any slippage of the belt 10 along the face. 8B outdoor.
The fifth and sixth assembly means 18, 19 are therefore redundant with respect to the first, second, third and fourth assembly means 1 1, 12, 16, 17 mentioned in the foregoing.
For example, the fifth assembly means 18 is constituted by an opening in the wall of the casing 8, while the sixth assembly means 19 is constituted by a mushroom-shaped protrusion from the belt 10, the openings and grows in question cooperating in the manner of a button and a buttonhole, the button being formed by the protrusion while the buttonhole is formed by the opening. Advantageously, the opening forming fifth assembly means 18 may correspond to the opening made necessary by the method of manufacturing by molding the hose 8.
Advantageously, the belt 10 is bonded to the casing 8. Preferably, all the surfaces of the belts 10 and casing 8 intended to come into contact are sized, so as to allow an intimate, uniform and continuous connection of the belt 10 and the Hose 8 over their entire contact interface.
This bonding advantageously comes in addition to the mechanical assembly obtained by at least the first and second assembly means 1 1, 12. The simultaneous implementation of a mechanical assembly using at least the first and second assembly means 1 1, 12 and a sizing of the belt 10 and hose 8 over their entire contact interface provides a ring 1 of particularly robust and durable construction.
An example of manufacture and use of a ring 1 according to the invention will be described in the following. Firstly, the hose 8 is manufactured by an operation of molding an elastomeric material, which makes it possible to obtain a one-piece piece, in one piece, forming said hose 8.
Similarly, the belt 10 is manufactured by a molding operation of elastomeric material (preferably of greater hardness than the material forming the hose) to obtain a single piece forming the belt 10 in question.
- Deuxième opération de solidarisation mécanique de la ceinture10 on the hose 8, by threading the hose 8 into the opening 14B, through the nozzle 9, until the fixing segment 13A is inserted into the opening 14B and the ring 14A is locked in longitudinal translation between the stops 13B, 13C. - Second mechanical fastening operation of the belt
- Troisième opération de solidarisation mécanique de la ceinture10 on the hose 8 made in the following way: at the opposite end 7 of the flexible band 2, the ring 17A is forced into the second ring 16B by the slot 16A until it is substantially coaxial with this last. - Third operation of mechanical fastening of the belt
These various mechanical assemblies make it possible to very precisely fix the position of the belt 10 relative to the hose 8. These mechanical assemblies are completed by a gluing of the connecting means in pairs (the first assembly means 11 is glued to the second means of assembly). assembly 12, the third assembly means 16 is glued to the fourth assembly means 17, and the fifth assembly means 18 is glued to the sixth assembly means 19).
The operator also performs a uniform bonding of the hose 8 and the belt 10, this bonding being performed by covering a layer of glue of all the surfaces of the casing 8 and the belt 10 intended to come into contact. The glue is introduced between the hose 8 and the belt 10 after mechanical assembly of the latter, by proceeding as follows:
- les surfaces de contact du boyau 8 et de la ceinture 10 sont écartées l'une de l'autre, the contact surfaces of the hose 8 and of the belt 10 are spaced apart from one another,
- enfin les surfaces de contact sont relâchées et viennent naturellement en contact, par retour élastique; les surfaces de contact du boyau 8 et de la ceinture 10 sont naturellement et automatiquement pressées l'une contre l'autre, du fait de la tension longitudinale de la ceinture 10 sur le boyau 8 (impartie par l'assemblage mécanique), ce qui favorise le collage.- then just the right amount of glue is inserted at the contact interface, finally, the contact surfaces are relaxed and naturally come into contact by springback; the contact surfaces of the hose 8 and the belt 10 are naturally and automatically pressed against each other, because of the longitudinal tension of the belt 10 on the hose 8 (imparted by the mechanical assembly), which promotes bonding.
The implementation of the bonding is thus very simple and perfectly reproducible.
In use, the ring 1 is locked by introduction of the male member 4 into the female member 5 (constituted by the unitary subassembly formed by the first and second coaxial rings 17A, 16B glued to each other ), which contributes to strengthening the assembly of the first and second assembly means 11, 12 on the one hand and third and fourth assembly means 16, 17 on the other hand, the ring 17A cooperating in particular with the stops 4A, 4B, while the male element 4 is reciprocally inserted in the ring 17A which contributes to maintain the latter in position relative to the casing 8.
