Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schreib-, Zeichen- und Malstiften mit einer Ummantelung aus Holz. Solche Stifte werden in aller Regel lackiert, indem sie mit dem Lack bzw. allgemein mit ein in flüssiger Form vorliegenden Beschichtungsmaterial besprüht oder in dieses eingetaucht werden, wie z.B. in der

Diese Aufgabe wird durch ein Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 gelöst, nämlich dadurch, dass zur Beschichtung das für Werkstoffe wie Metalle und MDF-Faserplatten an sich bekannte Pulverbeschichtungsverfahren angewandt wird. Ein derartiges Verfahren ermöglicht bisher bei Holzstiften nicht oder nur auf aufwändige Weise herstellbare Beschichtungen beispielsweise aus duroplastischen Kunststoffen. Dabei ist besonders vorteilhaft, dass selbst Stifte mit temperaturempfindlichen Minen trotz der zum Aufschmelzen von thermoplastischen oder Vernetzen von duroplastischen Kunststoffen erforderlichen Temperatur von beispielsweise 110°C bis 140°C mit diesen Kunststoffen beschichtet werden können. Bei dem Pulverbeschichtungsverfahren wird zunächst eine Beschichtung der Stiftoberfläche mit Pulverlack, also einem aus Partikeln des oder der jeweiligen Kunststoffe, bei Raumtemperatur vorgenommen. Der danach erforderliche Eintrag von Wärmeenergie in die Pulverschicht lässt sich gezielt auf die Pulverschicht richten, so dass temperaturempfindliche Minen geschont werden. Denkbar ist beispielsweise ein auf die Pulverschicht fokussiertes Infrarot- oder Laserlicht. Vorteilhaft ist weiterhin, dass sich mit dem vorgeschlagenen Verfahren eine Beschichtung mit ausreichender Dicke in einem einzigen Schritt auf die Stiftoberfläche aufbringen lässt. Bei dem bisher üblichen Durchstoßverfahren, bei dem ein Stift durch ein Farbbad und anschließend durch eine Abstreifvorrichtung geführt wird, ist in der Regel eine mehrfache Beschichtung erforderlich. Vorteilhaft ist schließlich noch, dass bei der vorgeschlagenen Vorgehensweise das Stiftende, die "Stiftkappe" ohne dass zusätzliche Maßnahmen erforderlich sind, mit Pulverlack überzogen wird.This object is achieved by a method according to claim 1, namely the fact that the coating is used for materials such as metals and MDF fibreboard per se known powder coating method. Zusammen mit den im Holz von Natur aus enthaltenen Elektrolyten, etwa Mineralstoffen, ergibt sich dabei eine gerade noch ausreichende elektrische Leitfähigkeit des Holzes, so dass die Stiftummantelungen geerdet werden können. Die elektrische Leitfähigkeit des Holzes steigt naturgemäß mit zunehmendem Wassergehalt an. Ein hoher Wassergehalt in der Ummantelung ist jedoch in aller Regel nicht erwünscht, da durch Wasserverlust beim späteren Gebrauch des Stiftes die Ummantelung schrumpfen kann, wobei dann ein fester Sitz der Mine nicht mehr gewährleistet ist. Zudem besteht bei einem hohen Wassergehalt die Gefahr, dass sich bei der Temperaturbehandlung der Pulverlackschicht Dampfblasen bilden, welche Holz und Beschichtung unbrauchbar machen. Bei einer bevorzugten Verfahrensvariante werden daher nur Holzummantelungen eingesetzt, die maximal 20% Wasser enthalten. Die Beschichtung kann beispielsweise mit einem Pulverlack vorgenommen werden, der ein Mischpulver aus einem Polyesterharz und Epoxyharz ist. Das Polyesterharz ist dabei mit dem Epoxyharz gehärtet. Als Polyesterharz kann Poly(bisphenol A-co-epichlorhydrin), glycidyl end-capped (7) (CAS 25068-38-6) verwendet werden, das z.B. von NAN YA Plastics Corporation, TW erhältlich ist. Als Polyesterharz, findet z.B. das von der WEG Indústrias-Química, BR vertriebene Polyester Polyol (Polyester Resin B, CAS 68604-67-1) Verwendung. Weiterhin sind Füllstoffe und Farbpigmente sowie Additive vorhanden. Als Füllstoffe kommen beispielsweise Calciumcarbonat, Kaolin, Talkum oder Glimmer in Frage. Für die Färbung des Pulverlacks stehen eine große Vielzahl von Farbpigmenten zur Verfügung, z.B. Pigment Yellow 13 (CAS 21100), Pigment Orange (CAS 21110), Pigment Red 122 (CAS 73915), Pigment Blue 15:6 (CAS 74160) und Pigment Black 11 (CAS 77499). Als Additive werden beispielsweise Öle und Wachse, etwa hydrogeniertes Castoröl und PE-Wachse, z.B. das von der Firma Clariant unter dem Handelsnamen Licowax PE 250 powder erhältliche Wachs. Ein bevorzugter Pulverlack setzt sich aus 30 - 40% Polyesterharz, 15 - 25% Epoxyharz, 1% - 35% Füllstoffe, 1% - 35% Farbpigmente und 0% - 2% Additive zusammen. Bei dieser Rezeptur und ganz allgemein weisen die verwendeten Bestandteile eine Partikelgröße von 30 bis 50µm auf. Die Dichte der eingesetzten Pulverlacke beträgt 1,2 - 1,8g/cm3. Zum Aushärten des angegebenen Pulverlackes ist eine Temperatur von 120°C erforderlich. Die Wärmezufuhr erfolgt bei wärmeempfindlichen Minen beispielsweise durch Beaufschlagung der Stiftoberfläche mit einer energiereichen Strahlung, etwa mit Laser oder mit Infrarotlicht.
