Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a viewing window of a protective suit, such as in particular a chemical protective suit, according to the preamble of claim 1. The viewing window has an outer pane with radiation-inhibiting properties. Radiation-inhibiting properties in the sense of the invention are understood to mean all material properties or effects caused by additional means, which effects a reflection, blocking or reduction of radiation, which can be formed, for example, by heat radiation, UV radiation or incidence of light. In this case, the outer pane on a color tint. As a result, an excessive incidence of light and thereby caused by the user's blinding when switching from dark to light can be avoided. In addition, a better contrast can be achieved in this way in dimmed lighting conditions. In addition, a protective layer is arranged on a relative to the protective suit inside of the outer pane, which in particular has a protective function against exposure to chemicals or a heat protection function.
Due to the gold-coated exterior of such windows, the user of such a heat protection suit can be effectively protected against strong heat radiation, as is especially in applications with open flame formation.
In other applications of protective suits, in particular in the fields of use for protective suits against the action of chemical substances, it often happens that a user is not exposed to a largely constant brightness, but that the lighting conditions change frequently.
In the case of the known viewing windows, the problems often arise here that the users have only insufficient visibility in the case of dimmed light conditions or are strongly blinded when changing from an environment with insulated light conditions into an environment, for example with direct solar radiation.
In
The object of the invention is to ensure increased mechanical protection in a generic viewing window.
This object is achieved by a lens with the features of claim 1. In this case, the outer pane and the protective layer are arranged with the interposition of a seal and thereby form a gap. This gap formed between outer pane and protective layer provides an increased mechanical Protection, since exposures of the outer pane do not act directly on the protective layer. In addition, this achieves better thermal insulation.
It is advantageous if the seal is formed of a synthetic rubber in order to ensure a uniform gas tightness at the lowest possible cost.
Advantageously, the synthetic rubber is formed by butyl, whereby a particularly high gas impermeability is ensured.
Preferably, the gap formed by means of the seal has a thickness of 0.3 to 0.7 mm, which in many cases, for example, in a breakthrough of a hard object through the outer pane, a further relevant application of the protective layer can be avoided.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the color shade is orange. As a result, on the one hand, adequate glare protection, for example against solar radiation, and on the other hand a particularly high increase in contrast in the case of insulated light conditions can be ensured in the light conditions customary for the use of chemical protective suits.
It is advantageous if the outer pane additionally has a gold vaporization on an outer side in order to be able to provide effective protection against heat radiation in addition to the glare protection.
Advantageously, the outer pane formed by cellulose propionate or polycarbonate, whereby a high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, impact resistance and rigidity of the lens can be achieved, which in turn results in a high resistance to puncture, cracking or Biegereißen.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if the protective layer is formed by a film of PTFE or FEP. In this way, a particularly high resistance of the window is achieved against the action of chemical substances.
In a further advantageous embodiment, an inner pane is provided on a side facing away from the outer pane side of the viewing window, which forms a further protective barrier against external influences, which are caused in particular by chemical substances.
It is advantageous if the protective layer and the inner pane are arranged with the interposition of an inner seal made of synthetic rubber, thereby forming a further gap. This further gap gap space, both the mechanical protection and the thermal insulation effect of the lens is further increased.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the inner seal is made of butyl, whereby a particularly high gas impermeability can also be achieved on the inner pane.
Furthermore, it is favorable if the inner pane is formed by cellulose propionate or polycarbonate, whereby a high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, impact resistance and rigidity of the viewing window can also be achieved on the user-facing side of the viewing window.
In addition, the inner pane additionally has a hydrophilic coating in order to prevent fogging thereof during the use of the relevant protective suit.
