- the attachment means 12 includes a shank 34 receivable through the apertures 32 defined by the arms 28 of the bracket 26, wherein the bracket 26 is rendered releasably attachable to elongate portion 16 of the closing mechanism 14 when the shank 34 is passed through the apertures 32.
- the shank 34 is a generally cylindrical elongate includes a tapered end 36, and a thread that has a first threaded section 38 and a second counter- threaded section 40.

- the first nut 48 has a larger bore diameter 52 relative the second nut bore diameter 54.
- the first nut 48 includes a thread 56 and the second nut 52 includes a counter- thread 58.
- the first nut 48 is shaped and dimensioned to engage with the first threaded section 38 of the shank 34 and the second nut 50 is shaped and dimensioned to engage with the second threaded section 40 of the shank 34.
- Figures 1 , 6 and 8 show the first nut 48 advanced along the first threaded portion 38 of the shank 34 to an engaged position adjacent the arm 28 of the bracket 26. Further advancement of the first nut 48 towards the arm 28 of the bracket 26 leads to compression of the arms 28 of the bracket 26 towards one another and thereby allows for releasable attachment of the bracket 26 to the elongate portion 16 of the closing mechanism 14 of the container.

- the channel 20 has raised sides 76 and defines apertures 78 for receiving an anti-sliding pin 80 that are frictionally engagable with at least a part of the elongate portion 16 of the closing mechanism 14.
- the frictional engagement serves to minimise movement of the locking device 10 along the long axis 24 of the elongate member 16 whilst in locked position.
- the second closed end 68 of the channel 20 includes a hook 22.
- the hook 22 is engagable with the end zone 18 of the closing mechanism 14 of the container. When in engaged position the hook 22 discourages the rotation of the closing mechanism 14 around its long axis 24. It is to be appreciated from the specification that the bracket 26 can be rotated around a long axis 45 of the shank 34, thereby providing for optimal positioning of the bracket 26 and to provide further frictional engagement with the closing mechanism 14 of the container.
