    characterised in that,
    the pressure level of the medium (25) in the line system (26) can be adjusted from the outside and/or that a reservoir chamber filled with the medium (25) is provided in the damping device (21), and that if there is a loss in the line system (26) due to leakage, the medium (25) is replenished automatically from the reservoir chamber into the line system (26) of the damping device (21).
  12. The device in accordance with one of the aforementioned claims,
    characterised in that,
    the driven active connection between the seat panel (4) and the corresponding free end (35') of the piston rod (35) of the damping piston (22 or 23) is achieved by means of a ball joint (37).
  13. The device in accordance with Claim 12,
    characterised in that,
    the ball joint (37) consists of two half-shells (38', 38") and of a ball (38) arranged in the half-shells (38', 38"), and that one of the half-shells (38') is attached to the seat panel (4) and the other half-shell (38") is attached to the piston rod (35).
  14. The device in accordance with Claim 12 or 13,
    characterised i n that,
    a two-piece permanent magnet (40) is arranged on the side next to the ball joint (37), that the part of the permanent magnet (40) that forms the south pole is attached to the seat panel(s) (4) and the other part of the permanent magnet (40) that forms the north pole is attached to the piston rod (35).
