Abstract

The method involves conveying panels (2) in a transport direction from one after another along a conveyor track (3), where the panels are arranged to each other with distance. The panels have superficial recesses at the side edges for receiving the weather strip. The recesses or the weather strip are coated with glue. A weather strip band is applied by a weather strip storage that is arranged laterally to the conveyor track. An independent claim is also included for a device for connecting a weather strip with a side edge of a panel, particularly floor panel made of wood.

Description

The invention relates to a method for connecting a welt to a side edge of a panel, in particular a floor panel made of wood-based material, with the steps:
  1. a) conveying along a conveyor track of panels arranged one behind the other at a distance from each other and having on one side edge a surface recess for receiving the welt, in a transport direction,
  2. b) gluing the recess and / or the welt with a glue,
  3. c) feeding a welt strip from a cedar storage,
  4. d) pressing the Kederbandes to the recess.

Such a method is for example from the WO 2007/080449 A2 known. This document discloses a floor covering and a method of manufacturing the same, in which in an at least partially superficial recess on a side edge of a panel, a strip which is preferably designed as a seal and is visible in the assembled state of the floor is used.

Wood-based floor panels are made with various optical decors and textures to convey a variety of visual and tactile impressions. It is common, for example, to reproduce the look of a solid wood floor. It can be done by impressing a relief on the grain the wood decor is matched, the impression of a real wooden floor further strengthened. Another way to upgrade such floor panels, is the use of a so-called Keder. In this case, a thin strip of another material is introduced between two panels so that it is substantially flush with the visible surface of the floor panel and breaks the uniformity of the surface regularly. As a result, a visual enhancement of the floor can be achieved. Typically, plastics are used as strips or as casting material, only recently metals are used, for example, aluminum or brass. To simplify the laying of the panels, it makes sense to connect the piping to the panels at the factory. It can be worked out of the floor panel on the locking profile of the longitudinal side of the panel from the upper surface material in the dimensions of the welt corresponding width and height, so that a recess is formed, which can absorb the piping fit. A piping tuned to the length of the panel can then be used and fixed to the panel, for example, by clamping or gluing. A prepared panel can then be laid with the same effort as a panel without piping.

The DE 10 2006 011 887 A1 describes a method and a device for pre-assembly of a locking element on a panel. In this case, a resilient locking element is pressed into a lateral recess on a side edge of a panel. In the assembled state of the floor, the blocking element then causes the vertical locking of the panels.

The US 3,316,948 A discloses a method of joining short pieces of wood together. In each case a preferably consisting of plant material band is pressed in two mutually opposite side edges of the pieces of wood located grooves.

The invention has for its object to secure a piping, which has a simple, in particular rectangular cross-section, reliable in a superficial recess on a side edge of a panel.

According to the invention the object is achieved by a generic method with the following steps:
  • the Kederband is fed laterally to the panels, and
  • the piping strip is pressed against the recess by reducing the distance of the supplied welt strip, viewed parallel to the transport direction, from the recess of each panel in both the horizontal and vertical directions and thus pressing the welt strip into the recess of each panel laterally as well as from above.

The panels are placed on a conveyor belt so that they are transported spaced from each other in a transport direction. The panels can be advantageously fixed from above by means of pressure rollers on the conveyor belt in order to achieve an exact and uniform positioning of the panels. The panels have been previously provided with superficial recesses along a side edge, so that they can absorb the piping. The recess and / or the piping are provided with a preferably liquid glue to a permanent connection between To make piping and panel. It can be decided individually depending on the material, geometry and intended load on the panel and the welt and depending on the glue used, whether only the panel, only the piping or both are provided with glue. In the further course of the conveyor track, a spring band is fed from a laterally arranged to the conveyor track Kederbandspeicher, eg a Kederbandrolle, and pressed against the glued recess by the distance between the recess and Kederband is preferably steadily reduced.

Preferably, the Kederbandspeicher is designed as a roll on which an endless Kederband is rolled up.

To ensure good adhesion of the glue, the recess for the piping can be cleaned before applying the glue. The cleaning can be done for example by means of compressed air.

To improve the adhesion of the welt, it can be cleaned before assembly with the panel or before applying the glue. To further improve the adhesion of the piping of a surface treatment, such as a corona treatment, be subjected. In this case, an oxide layer is produced on the surface of the welt. With the corona treatment, the adhesion of the welt can be increased cost-effectively. Alternatively, an anodized piping can be used. Also, the surface of the welt can be coated with a primer, either over the entire surface or only at those points where the glue is to be applied. Over the primer, the adhesion can be improved and a secure determination of the welt in the recess can be achieved.

In order to reduce any existing in the spring band after rolling of the Kederbandes of the role existing tensions, it makes sense to let the piping pass through a roller mill. In this case, the Kederband runs through an array of rollers which are formed so that the Kederband when passing through the Rolls are easily formed several times. Any bias caused by the storage of the welt strip on the welt strip storage, eg on the welt strip roll, is thereby reduced. Thus, the piping belt comes into contact with the panel largely without tension and can not detach itself from the panel due to internal stresses.

Furthermore, in order to avoid stresses between the panel and the piping, it is advantageous to choose the speed with which the piping tape is fed to the panels to be lower than the transport speed of the panels, so that the piping tape is pulled from the panels.

The reduction in distance between the belt and the panel can be done via a plurality of freely rotatably mounted rollers on which the panel and piping are passed and seen in the conveying direction are arranged with decreasing distance to the panel.

The piping can be pressed laterally or from above by horizontal or vertical pressure rollers in the recess. In order to achieve a particularly good fit of the welt, the welt strip can be successively or simultaneously pressed from different directions in the recess. The Andrückrichtungen need not exactly correspond to the vertical or horizontal, any other Andrückrichtungen are also conceivable.

The welt strip can be made of metal, wood, wood-based material, wood-material-plastic mixture, plastic, glass, cork or another natural material. As a result, various effects can be achieved with regard to the visual and tactile perception of the laid floor. Thus, e.g. different contrasts between panel and piping can be set or the piping can be optically integrated into the decor of the panels.

Furthermore, the Kederband can be endless or finely tuned and matched to the panel length. The use of an endless Kederbandes facilitates doing the handling of the Kederbandes during transport and assembly with the panel. On the other hand, final piping may be advantageous if the welt material is difficult to bend and therefore can not be rolled up on a welted strip roll. Furthermore, finite piping can lead to less waste and thus to savings in the cedar material. If the welt strip is provided in a length which comprises a plurality of panel lengths, the panels which are connected to one another via the welt strip after the impression of the welt strip can be transported to a first cutting device. In this cutting device, the piping band is severed in each case substantially centrally between the panels. Advantageously, after the severing of the welt strip, the transport speed of the panels increases, so that the panels are separated and also the projecting welt ends are spatially separated from one another.

If after pressing the welt strip or after severing the welt strip in the first cutting device, the ends of the welt do not flush with the panels, the panels can be transported to a second cutting device. In this second cutter, the overhanging ends of the welt on both sides of the panel are cut flush with the panel. The overhanging ends of the welt may be capped by transporting the panels to one or two stationary or movable saws in the second cutter. Preferably, however, the panel is stationary in the second cutter when the overhanging ends of the welt are cut by movable saws to ensure a precise and aesthetically pleasing cut.

Further preferably, both protruding ends of the welt are separated simultaneously by two saws, which are each guided vertically from top to bottom on the projections of the welt. The released Kederendstücke can so easily fall into a collection container or otherwise removed without colliding with the saws. After capping the projecting Kederenden the panels are preferably removed from the conveyor belt; stacked, combined into individual containers and packed.

A device for connecting a welt to a side edge of a panel with:
  • a conveyor with a conveyor track for conveying a plurality of spaced-apart panels in a conveying direction,
  • a gluing station in which a superficial recess and / or the piping introduced into a side edge of each panel can be glued with a glue,
  • a belt storage arranged next to the conveyor belt for a Kederband,
  • Pressing means for pressing the Kederbandes in the recess, and
  • a first cutting device for severing the Kederbandes, characterized in that
  • the piping storage is arranged laterally next to the conveyor track,
  • the pressure means for pressing the Kederbandes are designed in the recess in both the horizontal and in the vertical direction, and
  • a second cutting device is provided for capping the protrusions of the welt protruding on each panel on both sides.

In order to achieve a particularly durable connection between piping and panel, the pressing means are designed such that they press the piping both laterally and from above into the superficial recess. This can be realized, for example, by pressure rollers mounted at a corresponding distance from the passing panel.

Advantageously, the Kederbandspeicher is designed as Kederband role. If this is the case, it is furthermore advantageous if a roller mill arranged between the storage device and the conveying path, in which stresses in the welt strip can be removed, is provided.

Advantageously, this second cutting device has two saws displaceable in the vertical direction, so that both welted ends can be cut exactly and simultaneously. Preferably, the panel is in the second cutting device at rest.

Prepared and provided with a surface recess for receiving a welted panels 2 are placed at the bottom in the drawing of the system from a storage space on a conveyor track 3 and indicated in a direction indicated by the arrows

Transport direction T first transported up and then in a transport direction T 1 to the right. The conveyor track 3 can for example consist of a belt or roller conveyor. The discontinued on the conveyor track 3 panels 2 are first transported in the transport direction T to a cleaning device 19 and a gluing station 15 past. In the course of the panels 2 are connected to a provided by a Kederbandrolle 17 Kederband 5. The welt strip 5 is cut through in the middle between two panels 2 by a first cutting device 7. The separate and separated panels 2 are then picked up by a transverse conveyor 18 and transported in the direction T 1 to a second cutting station. The individual process steps are based on the FIGS. 3 to 5 explained in more detail. Not shown is a pretreatment station, in which the piping or the welt strip 5 is treated to improve the adhesion. In the pre-treatment station, the piping or the welt strip 5 can be subjected to a corona treatment or a coating with a primer. If necessary, the pretreatment station is arranged between the welt strip roll 17 and the first pressure rollers, but may also be connected upstream of the feed process, so that already pretreated welt strip 5 is brought to the system and unwound from the welt strip roller 17.

Der Keder 1 schließt mit der Oberfläche der Sichtseite 14 der Paneele 2 bündig ab.In FIG. 2 the cross section of two panels 2 is shown with a piping 1 to illustrate the position of the welt 1 on the panel 2. The two panels 2 are connected via interlocking elements 8 and 8 'with each other. From the top of the in the FIG. 2 right panel 2 ago a recess 4 has been worked out, which receives the piping 1. The the panel . 2 and the piping 1 connecting glue is shown as a thick line at the bottom of the recess 4, a gluing can also take place on the vertical side edge as a supplementary or alternative gluing. The recess 4 and the piping 1 extend over the entire length of the panels 2. The piping 1 is flush with the surface of the visible side 14 of the panels 2.

FIG. 3 corresponds to an enlarged view of the lower part of FIG. 1 ,

The transport direction T runs in the FIG. 3 continue from the bottom up. The panels 2 and in particular their superficial recesses 4 are first cleaned by the cleaning device 19, for example a compressed-air blower. Subsequently, a preferably liquid glue is applied to the recesses 4 of the panels 2 by the gluing station 15. In this case, the glue can be applied both to the horizontal and to the vertical boundary surface of the recess 4. The glue is indicated in the further course of the conveyor track 3 as a dashed line on the recess 4. The panels 2 are held in position on the conveyor track 3 by pressure rollers 12 acting in the vertical direction and mounted on roller hatches 21.

In FIG. 3 is the middle part of the FIG. 1 corresponding section of the conveyor track 3 shown. To the left of the conveyor track 3 is a Kederbandspeicher 6 with a Kederbandrolle 17. From this Kederbandrolle 17 a Kederband 5 is rolled and passed through a roller mill 11 to minimize any stresses on the Kederband 5. The Kederband 5 is brought laterally to the recess 4 of the panel 2 and pressed by vertical pressure rollers 13 and a horizontal pressure roller 12 in the recess 4 until a flat contact is formed and the Kederband 5 has reached the desired position. The Kederband 5 is after pressing firmly against the side walls of the recess 4. The Kederband 5 is brought at the pressing station at a lower speed than the transport speed of the panels 2 to the panels 2, so that the panels 2 pull the Kederband 5. Thus, stresses in the contact between Kederband 5 and 2 panel are avoided. As an alternative to the Kederbandrolle 17, the Kederbandspeicher 6 can also provide matched to the length of the panels 2 Kederbänder 5.

FIG. 4 1 shows an enlarged representation of the middle region of FIG. 1 and shows again in the lower region the roller mill 11, the welt strip 5 and the horizontal and vertical pressure rollers 12 and 13. In the middle region it can be seen that the panels 2 are connected to one another by the welt strip 5 are. Along the transport direction T, the panels 2 in the Drawing transported further upwards. The speed of the panels 2 is the same as during the pressing operation of the welt strip 5. After the separation of the welt strip 5, the panels 2 are separated by a second conveyor track 3 ', whose speed is higher than that of the first conveyor track 3, transported to spatially separate the panels 2 from each other and to facilitate the following change of direction of the panels 2.

The FIG. 5 shows the further path of the panels 2 along the faster conveyor track 3 'and corresponds to an enlarged view of the upper portion of the FIG. 1 , The first cutting device 7, the transverse conveyor 18 and several panels 2 with piping 1 and its protrusions 1 'and 1 "are shown, and the panels 2 are conveyed in the transport direction T, picked up by the transverse conveyor 18 and deflected in the transport direction T 1 In the direction of transport T 1 , the panels 2 are transported to the second cutting device 9. There, the projections 1 ', 1 "of the welt 1 of two vertically movable saws 10 are cut flush with the panel 2. During the separation process, the panels 2 are preferably at rest, however, co-separating devices can also be provided. After the separation process, the panels 2 connected to the piping 1 are further conveyed in the transport direction T 1 , stacked and combined to form individual packages.

The FIG. 6 shows a schematic section through the conveyor track 3, panel 2 and Kederband 5 during the Andrückvorganges. On the panel 2, the form-locking elements 8 and 8 'to lock the panels can be seen together. On the left in the figure form-locking element 8 is the recess 4, in which the piping belt 5 is pressed. The panel 2 is pressed by the pressure roller 20 on the conveyor track 3, while the predominantly horizontally oriented pressure roller 12 and the vertical pressure rollers 13 press the Kederband 5 in the recess 4 of the panel 2.
