TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention application of a groundbreaking electrical hair dryer model with a noise reducer element which can be incorporated to a hair dryer and also a fitting noise reducer element properly attached to the equipment back side or the air entrance, being the said hair dryer especially designed to bring more acoustic comfort for the user, reducing the motor and turbine assembly emitted noise, being the said noise reducer made of phono absorbent material and provides physical structure which allows sound waves breaking, substantially reducing the hair dryer noise produced.
BACKGROUND ART
As it is of public knowledge, the consuming market is supplied by an infinity of hair dryers models, where the most of them emit very high level noises, which come from its turbine, motor, helix etc.
It is known that hair drying is not an easy task to be accomplished alone, because adequately directing the air flow, beyond keep the arms raised for several minutes, holding the device and arranging, stretching the hair.
According to a research based on internet, some companies performed a series of specialized tests (PRO TESTE Magazine nr. 15, jun/03) and
the result was that all the analyzed hair dryers showed very high noise levels.
According to the Brazilian standards (ABNT) and international health regulations, the noise pollution emitted by tested hair dryers was over the highest acceptable levels - which is 50 dB max.
As all the devices presented noise level over 77 dB, it is possible that some users suffer hearing losses for being frequently and for a long period exposed to this kind of emitted noise. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECT
Thinking on this inconvenience and interested in bringing improvement to the consumer market, the inventor, after countless researches, developed this ""ELECTRICAL HAIR DRYER WITH NOISE REDUCER AND NOISE REDUCER" , which must get among its similar and get distinction in the consumer market for present an electrical hair dryer featuring a noise reducer device or be used as a fitting element being attached to the back side or at the hair dryer inbound air flow, being the referred device, especially developed to bring the user more acoustic comfort, for reducing the noises from the motor and turbine set present in hair dryers, thus, the noise reducer element is structured in phono absorbent material and presents physical structure which allows noise waves breaking, substantially reducing noises produced by the hair dryer.
The claimed hair dryer foresees a noise reducer imbedded in its structure, in other words,
the referred reducer is an extension of the claimed hair dryer body, for its production comprises all hair dryers' conventional elements, with an empty tapered element configured device, preferably, build with phono absorbent material or other material of similar characteristics, presenting two internal portions, which are, a first portion which establishes an internal tapered area with a multi faceted surface and an external portion slightly tapered and inverted. This way, the emitted sound waves crash with the internal tapered portion of the multi faceted wall and are broken into smaller waves, which are outbound the device, reducing the noise level.
A first embodiment of the referred hair dryer, which is also an extension of the back side of the claimed hair dryer' s body, include a tapered shape element and has two different elements, which are an end first portion in which the internal layered face has a multi faceted surface, and an intermediate portion featuring concentric and equidistant longitudinal cutouts applied to the tapered element body.
This way, the sound waves go into the device breaking themselves at the fixed multi faceted internal surface of the referred device, then reverberating towards the fixed cutouts in the reducer device body.
There is also a second embodiment of the hair dryer, which is also an extension of
the back side of the claimed hair dryer's body, that foresees an empty tapered element, which internal portion presents layered longitudinal elements, organized side by side, orthogonally, structuring squared zones, which reduce their own area as they are directed to the device opposite end.
This hair dryer device end face has squared cutouts organized toward the squared zones, so that the sound waves are reduced and understate the noise.
The present patent also foresees a series of embodiments of the same device, which are defined as fittings that can be added to the hair dryer itself.
The embodiments are described through the Utility Model patents claims of the same title, "CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT ADDED IN HAIR DRYER NOISE REDUCER", serials MU 8901078-7 and MU 8901079-5, lodged at 05/29/2009. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

"ELECTRICAL HAIR DRYER WITH NOISE REDUCER AND NOISE REDUCER" present invention deals with, especially of an electric hair dryer SC, featuring a noise reducer 1 e also foresees the possibility of the referred noise reducer be a fitting element, attachable at the back side of a conventional hair dryer by means of an elastic-material sleeve.
The claimed hair dryer has all its conventional components, further a noise reducer element 1, developed at the back side or at the hair dryer SC entrance air flow F, being the referred reducer 1, especially developed to bring the user more acoustic comfort, reducing the noises from the motor and turbine set, for being the noise reducer element structured in phono absorbent material and presents physical structure which allows noise waves OS breaking, substantially reducing noises produced by the hair dryer SC.
The referred noise reducer element 1 main construction has a tapered and empty structure, preferably build with phono absorbent material or other material of similar characteristics, presenting two internal portions 2 and 3, which are, a first portion which has an internal tapered area 4 with a multi faceted surface 5 and an external portion 6, slightly tapered and inverted.
This way, the emitted sound waves OS collide with the wall of the multi faceted area 5 of the internal tapered portion 4 and are broken into smaller waves OS, which are outbound the device 1, reducing the noise level .
A first embodiment of the referred hair dryer SC concerns to a hair dryer SC with an extension at the back side which forms the noise reducer Ia, being the referred reducer Ia tapered in shape and with an orthogonal external wall 7, which internal surface 8 is multi faceted, having also concentric longitudinal and equidistant cutouts 9, which can be applied all around the noise reducer Ia circumference, in an alternative embodiment Id, the hair dryer SC has an extension at the back which forms the noise reducer Id, being the referred reducer Id tapered shaped and with an external orthogonal wall 7d, which internal surface 8d is multi faceted, having also concentric longitudinal and equidistant cutouts 9d, which are only applied to one portion of the noise reducer Id circumference. The partial cutouts developed at the noise reducer Id are developed to keep themselves, in case the equipment is professionally used, turned to the practitioner who is using it, in other words, be the user right or left handed, he can turns the device positioning the cutouts towards himself, providing more safety to the customer's hair.
This way, the sound waves OS go into the device Id breaking themselves at the fixed multi
faceted internal surface of the referred extension id, then, reverberating towards the fixed cutouts 9d in the reducer device body Id.
There is also a second embodiment of the referred hair dryer, which is also an extension of the back side of the claimed hair dryer's SC body, which includes a tapered element Ib, presenting an external orthogonal face 11 with small cutouts 12, preferably squared in shape, aligned with the areas established by the four layered and longitudinal elements 10, which are internally positioned, side by side organized, orthogonally, structuring squared zones, which reduce their own area as they are directed to the device opposite end with the extension Ib cutouts 12. A third embodiment of the referred hair dryer SC concerns to a hair dryer SC with an extension at the back side which forms the noise reducer Ic, being the reducer Ic convex in its shape, of preferably sinuous lines, being its external face profiled and with an axial tapered element 15 positioned inside its body, fixed by the arms 16.
Also, each one of the noise reducer 1, Ia, Ib, Ic and Id models foresaw in the hair dryers SC of the present claimed invention, can be commercialized individually, in other words, they can be part of a hair dryer SC set of accessories, for this, the referred single devices foresee external ring portions 14, 14a, 14b and 14c, developed to hold ring elements 13, these
rings are made of elastic-material and are easily attached to any back grounded art hair dryer model or even be attached through any other attachment and anchorage proper means . Although the clear and incontestable improvement presented by the subject treated at the PI0804541-0 Patent, this applicant continues with its researches and also developed, other two noise reducer different models claimed at the referred PI 0804541-0, lodged as Utility Models, where the first one is a noise reducer which also has a simple and functional building, without any efficiency loss of the originally developed noise reducer.
This first of the referred noise reducer two models, are different of its similar already seen at the Patent PI0804541-0 for having an adapter ring, which allows its attachment to various hair dryers types or models.
Another novel aspect in the described noise reducer is in the surfaces or internal corrugated plans concept which along with the back projections basically resembling a pyramid, act in a more efficient way at the absorption of the noise produced by the hair dryer, effect that is also improved by the radial inbound air flow, no more axial, as previously foreseen.
Still concerning the adapter ring, even though be firmly mounted at the hair dryer body, it allows the attached noise reducer to be turned, assuring
that the noise reducer air entrance could be especially- positioned in such a way to prevent from accidental hair suction.
The noise reducer referred model, as shown in figure 15, is generally indicated by the numeric reference 1, and it is defined by a main body 17, preferably made of elastomer by injection.
The main body 17 is configured as a slightly tapered part, having a closed back wall 18, to which it is completely merged with a surrounding wall 19.
The main body 17 surrounding wall 19, through out its external edge 20 has, internally a ring recess 21, which allows the referred main body 17 to be attached to the ring edge 22 of an adapter ring 23. The adapter ring 23 is used to allow the noise reducer 1 attachment to a hair dryer device SC.
The adapter ring 23 can have a wide range of means which allows its attachment to the hair dryer device SC body. These means can vary in function of each hair dryer SC model drawings and design particularities. This way, the adapter ring model 23 presented here must be seen as one among various forms of substantiation of such component, concerning its attachment means to the hair dryer SC. The adapter ring 23 has a central opening 24 which is surrounded by an equally ring wall 25, from where locking teeth are projected 26 equally distributed throughout the ring wall 25.
The locking teeth 26 are designed to have, each one, a ramp-like face 27 aimed to allow their locking at the internal area of the back opening 28, foresaw in the hair dryer SC and through which the air flow F goes into the device.
The main body's 17 surrounding wall 19 has a side opening 29, which is provided with a protective screen 30 to prevent foreigner objects from entering the hair dryer SC main body 17. The referred side opening 29 is designed to offer a free passing area which does not allow inbound air flow to the hair dryer SC reduction or blocking F. This design also takes in account the screen 30.
The surrounding wall 19 internal face 31 incorporated a corrugated ribbing pattern 32, which starts in the limits of the ring recess 21 and goes until the main body 17 back wall 18 inner face 33.
From the same internal face 33 start arc-like plans 34, being two fairly horizontal, parallel and juxtaposed 34A and two fairly vertical and mutually contrapσsed 34B, the two referred types being formed by an ordinated curves sequence which forms a pattern that creates longitudinal ribbings 35 in each one of the plan faces 34. The noise reducer 1 is designed to be mounted at the back of the hair dryer device SC, in such a way that the collected air F is obliged to pass through the reducer 1 through its side opening 29.
By entering the noise reducer
1, the air F follows a way between the arc- like plans 34 before it takes an axial way, towards the hair dryer SC entrance, as indicated by the arrows F, at figure 16. The main body 17 back wall 18 internal face has a surface pattern formed by multiple pyramidal projections 36, which shows, each one, preferably, four faces 37.
Inversely, the sound waves OS, caused by the hair dryer SC running, which tends to propagate them to its back portion, meets the noise reducer 1, where they are absorbed and fragmented even by the ribbings patterns 32 as by the arc-like plans format 34 and also by the pyramidal projections 36. The main body 17 assembly in relation to the adapter ring 23 is accomplished in such a way that the adapter ring, even being fixed to the hair dryer SC body and still holding the axially the referred main body 17, allows the relative rotational movement of the main body 17 around the ring edge 22 of the ring 23.
This rotational movement R is especially interesting in allowing that the main body 17 could be turned in a way to direct its opening side 29 to a position relatively far from the drying hair.
This feature is especially useful when the hair dryer SC (along with the noise reducer 1) is professionally used.
The main body 17 rotational capacity R in relation to the adapter ring 23 is schematically shown in figure 18, where the double arrow R alludes such rotational capacity R around the reducer 1 axis .
Besides the noise reducer main model described as PI 0804541-0, the subsequent second model previously referred to, which was lodged as Utility Model, also differs from its similar foresaw at Patent application PI0804541-0 for having a adapter ring, which allows its attachment to various types of hair dryer models.
Another novel aspect in the described noise reducer is in foreseeing radially tubular sectors concept which, together, define the air flow entrance in the noise reducer, which is in a positioning condition that difficulties, inversely, the propagation of the sound which comes from the hair dryer device running.
In the said noise reducer, the reducer inbound air flow becomes radial, no more axial, as previously foreseen.
Still concerning the adapter ring, even though be firmly mounted at the hair dryer body, it allows the attached noise reducer to be turned, assuring that the noise reducer air entrance could be especially positioned in such a way to prevent from accidental hair suction.
The referred noise reducer is generally indicated by the numeric reference 1, and it is
defined by a main body 17, preferably made of elastomer by injection.
The main body 17 is configured as a slightly tapered part, having a closed back wall 18, to which it is completely merged with a surrounding wall 19.
The main body 17' surrounding wall 19', through out its external edge 20' has, internally a ring recess 21', which allows the referred main body 17' to be attached to the ring edge 22' of an adapter ring 23' . The adapter ring 23' is used to allow the noise reducer 1 attachment to a hair dryer device SC.
The adapter ring 23' can have a wide range of means which allows its attachment to the hair dryer device SC body. These means can vary in function of each hair dryer SC model drawings and design particularities. This way, the adapter ring model 23' presented here must be seen as one among various forms of substantiation of such component, concerning its attachment means to the hair dryer SC. The adapter ring 23' has a central opening 24' which is surrounded by an equally ring wall 25', from where locking teeth are projected 26' equally distributed throughout the ring wall 25' .
The locking teeth 26' are designed to have, each one, a ramp-like face 27' aimed to allow their locking at the internal area of the back opening 28' foresaw in the hair dryer SC and through which the air flow goes into the device.
The main body 17' surrounding wall 19' has a multiple tubular sectors radially organized 38 which, together, define the air flow entrance into the noise reducer. Each tubular sector 38 is assembled in a correspondent opening 39 (especially shown in figure 20), in which the surrounding wall 19' is produced. This opening 39 makes the end of the respective tubular sector 38 substantially in the same plane with the main body IV surrounding wall 19' . Thus, each tubular sector 38 has an extension to the main body 17' interior, such as can be especially understood through the figure 20 view, which is a cutout taken in such a way to show a full cut of one of the several tubular sectors 38 and its respective opening 39. All the tubular sectors 38 are designed to offer a free passing area which does not allow inbound air flow to the hair dryer SC reduction or blocking.
The surrounding wall 19' internal face 31' incorporates, at least, one sector of its area, a corrugated ribbing pattern 32', which starts in the limits of the ring recess 21 and goes until the main body 17 back wall 18 inner face 33.
The noise reducer 1 is designed to be mounted at the back of the hair dryer device SC, in such a way that the collected air is obliged to pass through the reducer 38 through the tubular sectors 38.
By entering the noise reducer 1, the air follows a way initially radial then it takes the
axial direction to get into the hair dryer SC, as indicated by the arrows F at figure 20,
The main body 17' back wall 18' internal face 33' has a surface pattern formed by multiple pyramidal projections 36', which shows, each one, preferably, four faces 37' .
Inversely, the sound waves OS, caused by the hair dryer SC running, which tends to propagate themselves to its back portion, meets the noise reducer 1, where they are absorbed and fragmented even by the ribbings patterns 32' as by the pyramidal projections 36' .
The main body 17' assembly in relation to the adapter ring 23' is accomplished in such a way that the adapter ring, even being fixed to the hair dryer SC body and still holding the axially the referred main body 17', allows the relative movement of the main body 17' around the ring edge 22' of the ring 23' .
This rotational movement R is especially interesting in allowing that the main body 17' could be turned in a way to direct its tubular sectors 29 to a position relatively far from the drying hair.
This feature is especially useful when the hair dryer SC (along with the noise reducer 1) is professionally used.
The main body 17' rotational capacity R in relation to the adapter ring 23' is schematically shown in figure 18. Where the double arrow R
alludes such rotational capacity R around the reducer 1 axis .
Thus, this document represent and add subject to the three documents previously lodged, being PI 0804541-0 and the two Utility Models identified with the lodge serials numbers MU 8901078-7 and MU 8901079-5, where both documents are subsequent variations, properly innovated by the referred hair dryer noise reducer.
