Bodenstaubsauger weisen einen Saugschlauch bzw. ein Saugrohr auf, durch den Staub an- bzw. eingesaugt und in den Innenraum des Staubsaugers befördert wird. Zur Anbindung des Saugschlauchs bzw. des Saugrohrs an das Gehäuse des Staubsaugers ist ein Anschlussstutzen vorgesehen, der fest mit dem Gehäuse verbunden ist. Der Anschlussstutzen ist beispielsweise in das Gehäuseoberteil eingelassen, eingeklebt oder eingeschweißt und bildet somit einen angeformten Bestandteil des Gehäuseoberteils. Typischerweise ist der Anschlussstutzen in einer solchen Weise gestaltet, dass der Saugschlauch lösbar und drehbar im Anschlussstutzen gelagert werden kann, so dass eine optimale Bewegungsfreiheit im Gebrauch bzw. ein schnelles Abnehmen des Saugschlauchs ermöglicht wird. Ein derartiges herkömmliches Anschlusskonzept ist beispielsweise in der
Staubsauger einer Modellklasse werden oftmals in verschiedenen Varianten angeboten, die sich in Bezug auf ihre Saugleistung unterscheiden. Die Saugleistung ist das Produkt aus Unterdruck und (Luft-)Volumenstrom. Sollen auf ein- und derselben Geräteplattform mehrere Staubsaugervarianten mit unterschiedlicher Saugleistung (und unterschiedlichem Verkaufspreis) angeboten werden, so erfordert dies die Bereitstellung einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Staubsaugergehäuse, da sich die diversen Varianten in Bezug auf die Dimensionierung der Anschlussstutzen unterscheiden. Auf diese Weise kann ein- und dasselbe Gehäuseteil für Staubsauger unterschiedlicher Varianten verwendet werden, da Flanschplatten mit unterschiedlichen Anschlussstutzen in das Gehäuseteil integriert werden können. Die für verschiedene Staubsaugervarianten benötigten Gehäuseteile stimmen in Bezug auf ihre geometrische Ausgestaltung überein und können daher kostengünstig in ein- und demselben Spritzgusswerkzeug gefertigt werden. Das Gehäuseteil ist also universell für die verschiedenen Staubsaugervarianten verwendbar.
