Abstract
Description
- The present invention refers to a parasol-anchoring device.
- More specifically, the device of the invention allows firm securing of the support and therefore of the parasol to the ground or support structure, in addition to allowing adaptation of the assembly to the rocking movement to which the parasol may be subjected.
- At present, the use of the parasol of the type which is fixed on surfaces such as terraces, promenades or similar is well-known.
- A large variety of configurations of supports for parasols which allow the parasol to stand securely are known; however, none of the supports known by the applicant envisages the existence of an invention that has the characteristics described herein.
- The parasol-anchoring device as object of the present invention provides a number of additional advantages that will become evident from the description provided hereinafter.
- To this end, and more specifically, said device is of the type that is fixed to a usually horizontal surface, hereinafter called support surface, and is characterized in that it comprises a support element for coupling to a post of a parasol that is provided with a pendular counterweight that is arranged within a cavity made inside the surface, said pendular counterweight acting by way of a stabilizer for the parasol; and in which, between the support element and the surface there is an intermediate separation element that allows the assembly to rock.
- Additionally, the support element comprises a base from which a tubular body which can be coupled to the post of the parasol protrudes above and vertically, and on which the tubular body has fixing means of the post of the parasol to the tubular body.
- Preferentially, the tubular body has a diameter inferior to the diameter of the post of the parasol, such that the tubular body remains inserted inside the hollow post of the parasol.
- In turn, the fixing means of the post of the parasol to the tubular body consist of a peg that passes through an orifice made in the tubular body and in the post of the parasol.
- In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the pendular counterweight consists of a rigid stud that extends vertically from the underside of the base of the support element and that has a counterweight on its free end.
- Preferentially, the pendular counterweight has a conical shape and is threaded onto the end of the stud.
- In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the device comprises a pendular counterweight protection element arranged in the cavity made inside the support surface.
- In particular, said protection element consists of a tubular body provided with casing on the upper part, preferentially, a conical section that acts as a buffer element for the pendular counterweight.
- In accordance with another characteristic of the device, the pendular counterweight protection element is provided with, at the lower end, a drainage device connected by threading to the protection element.
- More specifically, the drainage device comprises a radially expandable tubular body by providing a plurality of fins and an element arranged on the inside of said tubular body, with a generally conical shape, such that, on contact with the plurality of fins the tubular body expands radially.
- In view of all the foregoing, and advantageously, the device of the invention allows firm securing of the support and therefore of the parasol, in addition to allowing adaptation of the device to the rocking movement to which the parasol may be subjected when affected by external phenomena, such as the wind or similar.
- To complete the description that is going to be described hereinafter and in order to help to better understand its characteristics, accompanying the descriptive memory herein is a set of drawings in whose figures, by way of non-limiting illustration , the most significant details of the invention are represented.
-
Figure 1 .- Sectional and elevational view of the device in accordance with the characteristics of the invention. - Considering the described figures and according to the numbering adopted, a preferred, although non-limiting embodiment of the invention can be observed therein, which consists of a parasol-anchoring device.
- As shown in
figure 1 , the device of the invention is of the type fixed to a support surface, and is characterized in that it comprises a support element (1) for coupling to a post (2) of a parasol provided with a pendular counterweight (3) that is arranged within a cavity made inside the support surface (7), said pendular counterweight (3) acting by way of a stabilizer for the parasol; and in which, between the support element (1) and the support surface (7) there is an intermediate separation element (8) that allows the assembly to rock. - Additionally, the support element (1) comprises a base (4) from which a tubular body protrudes above and vertically (5) which can be coupled to the post (2) of the parasol, and on which the tubular body (5) has fixing means (6) of the post of the parasol to the tubular body.
- The tubular body (5) has a diameter inferior to the diameter of the post of the parasol (2), such that the tubular body (5) remains inserted inside the hollow post (2) of the parasol.
- In turn, the fixing means (6) of the post (2) of the parasol to the tubular body (5) consists of a peg that passes through an orifice made in the tubular body (5) and in the post (2) of the parasol.
- In accordance with another aspect of the invention, the pendular counterweight (3) consists of a rigid stud (9) that extends vertically from the underside of the base (4) of the support element (1), and which has a conical counterweight (10) threaded onto its free end.
- In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the device comprises a protection element (11) of the pendular counterweight (10) arranged in the cavity made inside the support surface (7).
- In particular, said protection element (11) consists of a tubular body (12) provided with, on the upper part of a casing (13), a conical section that acts as a buffer element of the counterweight (10).
- In addition, the protection element (11) of the counterweight (10) is provided with, at the lower end, a drainage device (14) connected by threading to the protection element (11).
- More specifically, the drainage device (14) comprises a radially expandable tubular body (15) by providing a plurality of fins and an element (16) arranged inside said tubular body (15), with a generally conical shape, such that, on contact with the plurality of fins, the tubular body (15) expands radially.
- It will be evident to anyone skilled in the art that the anchoring device described herein can be installed onto a solid surface, such as concrete for example, as well as a grainy surface, such as for example, beaches or areas covered in a layer of grass. If mounted on a surface with a layer of grass, the tubular body (12) has, at least, one threaded section on its outer face (not shown) to ensure good grip and penetration of the device, while in the case of a grainy surface it can be arranged on the lower part of the device of an element with a travelling distance that is substantially helicoidal or similar, for the securing of said anchoring device in a practical and user-friendly manner.
- The details, shapes and dimensions and other accessory elements as well as the materials used in the manufacture of the device of the invention may be conveniently substituted by others which are technically equivalent and do not depart from the essential nature of the invention or from the scope defined by the claims provided hereinafter.
