Definitions
- the invention relates to a waterless urinal with a tub and a replaceable filter insert inserted into the tub with a pot according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a fundamental problem with a waterless urinal is the avoidance of odor development.
- the outflow of gases from the duct system can be effectively prevented by a siphon in a waterless urinal similar to other wastewater systems.
- the problem is the fact that in a waterless urinal urine is usually present in the siphon, which has a free surface that communicates with the environment. Therefore, measures are needed to prevent this odor due to stagnant urine.
- a known solution is to provide a barrier fluid that covers the surface of the urine and thus prevents odor.
- the use of a barrier liquid requires considerable maintenance to ensure safe avoidance of unpleasant odor.
- the EP 1 972 727 A an embodiment of a urinal, in which an odor trap is provided in the form of a fluttering valve.
- this solution has fundamental disadvantages, namely that no siphon is provided, which not only contradicts legal requirements, but also causes problems in the application, and that the odor trap is provided relatively far downstream, so that urine inside the insert sticks, always staying in touch with the outside world.
- the WO 2009/040524 A shows a siphon having a membrane which is permeable in one direction only. This membrane is freely hanging downwards and can easily be damaged by pressure fluctuations in the system.
- the present invention also starts from the use of such an odor-trap membrane, which retains gases but allows the liquid to pass through. This passage can be made possible by the formation of the membrane itself, but also by their special installation. In addition, a robust solution should be presented.
- Object of the present invention is to provide a solution that is robust and avoids the disadvantages described above.
- the odor trap membrane is arranged on the lid and that a siphon is provided in the pot. Odor closure of the urine to the environment thus occurs through the odor-trap membrane, which retains the odorous gases and is located far upstream.
- the lid has a recess in which at least one opening is provided and that the opening is closed by the odor trap membrane. In this way, a particularly simple structure is achieved. Another practical advantage is that a tool for lifting the siphon filter can be introduced through the opening, this tool displacing the odor trap membrane slightly and engages under the lid.
- a particularly functional solution of the invention is achieved in that a partition wall is attached to the lid, which divides the interior of the pot into a first chamber and into a second chamber and thus can form a siphon. In this way, the urinal can be made very compact.
- An undesirable deposition of solids can be particularly preferably avoided by the partition wall is arranged sloping sloping.
- a circulation movement is effected in the first chamber, which always ensures a certain mixing of the contents of the chamber. Deposits are withheld and disposed of. In this way, the service life of the filter is significantly extended, which causes a less frequent replacement is required.
- the actual siphon is realized in a preferred manner in that in the second chamber, an upwardly open discharge nozzle is arranged. In this way, the partially legally prescribed sealing water level is guaranteed.
- the odor-trap membrane is made of TPE, i. a thermoplastic elastomer, and having a plurality of slots which preferably extend radially outwardly from a midpoint. In this way, the passage of urine from top to bottom can be facilitated while effectively preventing the escape of gases.
- the present invention relates to a waterless urinal in which the odor trap membrane is formed as a resilient disc, which is biased by a clamping element against a sealing surface.
- the sealing thus takes place along a sealing surface, wherein liquid from above is allowed to pass through due to gravity.
- a retaining pin is formed, which is increased relative to the sealing surface and holds the odor-trap membrane in the central portion. This achieves a particularly simple construction.
- a pot 1 is shown in section, wherein the odor trap membrane is removed for ease of illustration.
- the pot 1 consists of a cylindrical base body 2 and a lid 3.
- a circumferential O-ring 4 serves to cover against the urinal, in which the pot 1 is inserted.
- the pot 1 and the lid 3 are made of APS plastic.
- a drain pipe 5 is provided in the pot 1, the upper opening 7 determines the height 6 of the liquid level in pot 1.
- the lid 3 is slightly sloping towards the middle and has a center in the use position horizontal filter area 8 with openings 9 for the urine. Laterally relative to the central axis 10, slightly offset, a retaining groove 11 is provided, which receives a sloping downward sloping partition wall 12 and holds.
- Fig. 2 shows a urinal 100 with a trough 101 in which a pot 1 is inserted. Via a manifold 102, the original 100 is connected to a disposal line, not shown.
- Fig. 3 the lid 3 is shown with its underside.
- the odor trap membrane 14 consists of a main body 15 with radially adjoining retaining tabs 16 which are suspended in the projections 13 of the lid 3.
- the odor trap membrane 14 is biased in this manner in the radial direction.
- a cross-shaped slot 17 is provided which allows the passage of urine, but prevents the escape of gases.
- Recesses 18 of the retaining tabs 16 can be seen, which embrace the projections 13 of the lid 3.
- the pot 1 is inserted into the urinal 100 and is immediately ready for use after adding a small amount of water.
- the original water filling is displaced, so that the pot 1 is substantially filled with urine.
- Any channel gases that rise up through the outlet pipe 5, can enter the air space 19 above the opening 7.
- the partition wall 12 prevents, in conjunction with the liquid present in the pot 1, a passage of the channel gases from the air space 19 into the further air space 20 beyond the partition 12.
- the lower edge 21 of the partition 12 is sufficiently deep in the pot 1 arranged to a to ensure sufficient sealing water height h, for example, 4 cm.
- urine odorous gases are present, which would flow through the openings 9 of the lid 3 without special measures. This is prevented by the special design of the odor trap membrane 14.
- a passage of urine from the top is made possible in the pot 1, a leakage of gases from the other air space 20 upwards, however prevented.
- the lid 3 has a substantially cylindrical edge 28, protrude from the three retaining tabs 22 in the radial direction.
- essentially conical-sector-shaped holders 23, 24 are formed, which extend upward in the installation direction and hold a downwardly extending holding pin 26 in the axial region of the cylindrical rim 28, forming a clamping element around the odor-trap membrane 14 in the pretensioned position hold.
- the odor-trap membrane 14 is clamped in its middle section on the retaining pin 26 and is thus deformed approximately conically, wherein the thickened edge 25 of the odor-trap membrane 14 is pressed against a sealing surface 27 on the lid 3.
- a valve is formed, which reliably retains gases flowing from the bottom to the top, but lets pass liquids present from above on the sealing surface 27 with relatively little resistance.
- this embodiment is ideal for solving the tasks presented above.
- the present invention enables an essential development of a waterless urinal, both in terms of life, as well as qualitative terms.

Description

Fig. 6 und Fig. 7 . - In
- In
